You really can’t compare the two (N O & Mobile). N O already is a tourist destination. Do the locals need to pump up or know about the N O Bowl. Nope. There already is a ton of crap to do tourist wise. Mobile on the other hand has to go all out due to DG being there flagship bowl. I think either one is a great destination. I’m sure you can nit pick either city (like last nights concessions in the stadium). I’m happy I got to go to a bowl game and see Troy beat Buffalo and the $hitty ACC officiating crew. One thing though was chicken on a stick the best you got Mobile. Come on man It was $8 too! I went for a small corn dog small lemonade and fries and still got robbed. No programs either. I bought a T shirt and the vendor said no one brought any programs to him. Still enjoyed myself

Nice win. Team is good. Coach has this team rolling. Coach is good. Has built this program up from the ashes. We will lose her soon. She deserves the riches coming. I hope Troy will pay her the riches. We need to keep Rigby. She's brought in P5 talent that no one else has been able to do. Maybe she loves being at Troy enough to stay, no matter what offer comes her way... Rigby is a superb coach. Won over 500 games and Junior College title at Pensacola JC. She also won several HS titles in Louisiana if I'm not mistaken. She will get P5 offers

Cardinal and white > ever using silver or any variation of black. I did like the uniforms from the 90's that were black and white and looked the the Atlanta Falsons

I’m gonna bet Barker and Free battle it out with Barker gaining the edge in his Sr year. That leaves Free 2 more seasons as the starter, Screws can gray shirt then red shirt and be ready when after graduates as we are on our 3rd new head coach by then. All was good until you got to the third new head coach part..... I hope we stay with Sawyer. Did a fine job in the bowl game and outplayed the hyped up Buffalo QB. We might have an embarrassment of riches at the position. Would hate to lose any of them, but a couple could transfer.

Are we seeing M Jones transition to RB for next year? Are we that deep at corner? I'm just glad he wasn't badly injured. The Buffalo player tried to take his head off

I would stay with Sawyer Smith at QB. Barker is a better overall athlete, but Smith is a pure passer. Really throws the deep ball and has that cannon

I know this young man. Either Troy or Iowa will be getting a really good player and an even better person. Troy's overall talent level is similar to Vandy right now. We also play in more bowl games. Only thing could hold us back is if he wants a Vanderbilt education. No other SEC schools looking at him?

Never want to go there. I like a road trip for a bowl game No one will ever force you to go there. You think Auburn or Alabama want to play in the Birmingham Bowl?

I was worried about the future of the bowl since RayCom got bought out... Glad they are keeping post season football in the Heart of Dixie. Never want to go there. I like a road trip for a bowl game

Blakeney had that Bobby Bowden syndrome and lost control. He should have retired 3-4 years sooner. Neal Brown has done an admirable job rebuilding

I'm confident we have enough of a reputation to hire a replacement that will keep Troy competitive Ok, agree. But none of my post was concerning the eventual replacement hire. I think Neal Brown ulitmate goal would be the Kentucky job, but Stoops isn't going anywhere. Just had the best record since 77. Taggart is on the hot seat at FSU but would Stoops want to go there?

Glad Coach is staying. Success breeds it’s own potential problems. It will be interesting to see: (now that coach is officially “out there”. Having interviewed, going through active negotiations and according to some reports the #1 but just couldn’t finalize the deal. ) - how recruiting plays out. Knowing we are going to be negatively recruited against. - how the program and coach handles next year and long term issues/solutions that arise knowing coach is most likely gone after 2019. - how the “locker room”/players react to and act to in 2019 to a coach that is most likely gone next year. Only potential problems, if handled correctly any issues will and can be avoided. Always tricky but winning seasons, championships and bowl victories are desired and wanted so here we go. I'm confident we have enough of a reputation to hire a replacement that will keep Troy competitive

Yes tough anywhere but his coaches can easily show up on JUCO campuses and there are some good athletes at those locations. The ability to plug in an athlete is not really the problem but it is harder for other schools to just be around the Jayhawk conference. Problem is you can't sustain success doing that. You can win depending on what particular talent is there but you end up in never ending rebuilding years and down years when the juco talent is off. Synder could win in the short run but not in the long run. Manhattan, KS is in BFE...worse than Troy Much worse than Troy. Terrible weather. Troy has a much better recruiting base within a 4 hr radius. K State will always be in the shadow of Oklahoma and Texas in the Big 12. West Va would be a much better job if that was open.

Neal has his old Texas connections and while not a great way to do it there are tons of JUCOs in Kansas. Sure lots of things with those guys but at least near by and unofficial visits etc. At least a potential way for KState to contend with some other guys including the occasional SouthEast kid from his contacts here. Hope is does not happen but this is a real possible. Remember KState not long ago was a top ten program and NB is a good coach and Vic is an outstanding D coordinator. Have to recruit Texas in the Big 12. Trouble is he'll get the table scraps from OU and Texas. He'd be better off homesteading at Troy. Just my opinion

Boosters at K STate appear to not want an FCS coach - which has pushed NB to forefront per reports Agree that this is not a good move for CNB Tough location plus following K State icon Snyder

Kansas... brrrr. If CNB takes the K-State job it is where his career will end. You can't win in football in Kansas. It will be 4 years and out and he will be an OC somewhere in FCS. Would be ironic if he came back to Troy afterwards

Overheard coach on MTSU bench saying "they will let us back in it. They won't drain the clock." He turned out to be correct. Tough end to a really good game. Predictable Coaching?? Rigby has won 500 + games. I think she knows what she's doing

Still Mizzou will have to replace their top QB and some other players + some DEF starters and Troy returning a ton. Also, don’t underestimate the LSU and Nebraska wins: This Troy team understands how to beat P5 teams! I am more concerned about Missouri’s bye week (right before they are playing us) than their talent level. Southern Miss will be competitive, returning almost the entire OFF and they will have played two opponents (incl Miss St) while we only play Campbell in week1 - going into week 3. This could really hurt us. Akron will have to replace almost its entire starting DEF. We should win this game. App St should be a Top 25 team next year, not sure about their coaching situation. Barring any injuries and provided we add some more depth and keep our coaches, next year should be our year! Again our schedule is not cake walk next year. And Mizzou just got a lot tougher. Akron just fired Bowden

That kid made a terrible decision. He will not shine in the SEC because mizz is terrible and he will have no support. He should have gone to the Pac-12 to a school like UCLA and he would have been Hollywood Hot. I hope he enjoys getting his soul knocked out of him by the Nixon twins. Last I heard , Bryant was considering Auburn. Stidham just declared for the draft

Last time I went and saw us play S Alabama there, I parked my car at a nearby shopping mall and there were buses taking us over to the stadium. Assuming we will have to park our cars nearby this time. Already got my ticket $48 was reasonable

UAB recruits South Florida heavily. We were looking at playing Miami in the Independence Bowl or playing in a Florida bowl. Boca was the best fit after Miami went to the Pinstripe. NO was never on the table due to UAB hosting Auburn the same night in basketball a the BJCC Arena. You talk as though the bowl lineup was your smorgasbord. This is the third bowl in your pathetic history and the first time not being sent offshore. Be thankful. But rather than celebrate with the misfit lot you were allowed to recruit for the restart you’re back for the quarterly visit to see what’s happening with a truly successful program. You’d be much better served spending this rare moment in time celebrating with the tarps you’ll have to pack and ship to help fill the Boca stands. We have 3 National Championships in Football. UAB was lucky to get past Bear Bryant's son who wanted to shut down their whole athletic department if he could have.

That is a great match-up for them. It could only be better if the game were in New Orleans.
Tulane played the Cajuns in the Superdome a few years ago and drew over 50k . Still a record for the New Orleans Bowl
