In the event this topic ever again arises (and it will, no later than late October 2019 and annually thereafter), refer to the pictures and videos of this year's team and attending fans for guidance. These kids and fans are having the time of their lives and Mobile puts on a show for this bowl game. To poo poo Mobile as a bowl destination smacks of the same elitism we criticize the P5 schools for in refusing to come to "lil ole po dunk" Troy. Phoenix or Miami it's not, but it's not Birmingham or Shreveport either.

Good shopping, good food, great parade and I enjoy it every time I see it. Good bars. Folks this place does a great job and could not agree with Bubba more. We know it is not a destination for some of our fan base but it is top notch.

We have had a great time in Mobile. The city goes all out to welcome you with fun events. The Mardi Gras Parade was lots of fun. To me more fun than New Orleans Bowl.

I’ve said it since I experienced it the first year. Mobile does as good a job or better than anyone else with this bowl. Props to all who are involved. Much better than NOLA

Comparing two like compare Apple and Grapefruit. Saint practice facility or UAB-Mobile campus? Superdome or Ladd-People. Truck Bowl have bigger bigtime feel to it. Seriously some of you board clowns would rather play in Montgomery next year than play Sugar Bowl to play Barn just to save on gas. But who care now. Another ten win season Ho not complain. He just laugh.

The stadium looked even worse on TV. Couldn't really tell about the crowd but it didn't look as big as I thought it would be. How was the attendance?

Definitely think they put on a great show for the game. I just don't want it to become "the Troy bowl" like NOLA became "the Ragin Cajun bowl" because it's the only one we go to year after year. The date is also horrible since it moved from January to Christmas, pretty much ensuring I can never attend. But I do love the attention the city gives the game. Looks like a hella good time!

I take great pride in winning on the home field of the #JanNation. Mobile goes above and beyond for the bowl teams.

Different locations different experiences. Bowl to Bowl as all the BOWL activities Mobile is superior. Different things about the cities too. If you like NO then Mobile is just different. Inside for perfect weather is great. However Mobile if it is an apple and NO the grapefruit you are right! I love apples and can’t stand grapefruit. I am talking bowl activity as delineated by the bowls. One place says welcome. The other says “I think I have heard of it or what is that? I too would like another bowl next year but this is a good bowl for the Belt

Considering the time of year AND the family focus of Troy, I think the Dollar General Bowl allowed The Trojan Nation to continue their fan support of our football coaches and players during a difficult calendar time by being close enough to a large part of the fan base for many to travel before Christmas! Attendance was reported as 31,818 👍🏼
As for me and my house, Mobile KNOWS they have a bowl! New Orleans ONLY knows Sugar.

App was in Mobile last year, in NOLA this. I'd like to get input from their fans. I wonder if they share our sentiments.

You really can’t compare the two (N O & Mobile). N O already is a tourist destination. Do the locals need to pump up or know about the N O Bowl. Nope. There already is a ton of crap to do tourist wise. Mobile on the other hand has to go all out due to DG being there flagship bowl. I think either one is a great destination. I’m sure you can nit pick either city (like last nights concessions in the stadium). I’m happy I got to go to a bowl game and see Troy beat Buffalo and the $hitty ACC officiating crew.
One thing though was chicken on a stick the best you got Mobile. Come on man

I bought a T shirt and the vendor said no one brought any programs to him. Still enjoyed myself

Mobile was fun! The parade was incredibly fun. I mean really fun. Am happy to go back again! I do hope we get to experience Orlando. And, if our play warrants a trip to Montgomery - I will be there! I would like to think Montgomery does a great job with their bowl game. Destination city, maybe not but its better than sitting home!

I just wouldn't consider it a destination city for any other reason (with the exception of Mardi Gras). Surf Report: We have overcast skies, air temp is 62, water is 65, wind is blowing 5-10 out of the NE. The first high tide was at 2:15 and the next high tide will be at 7:37 pm. The only low tide of the day will be at 11:47 am. Surf is running waist to chest high.
