DT is not much for keeping up with the coaching carousel. What if this year is the year that what I shall not mention happens? What if this year is the year DT must pencil in 24 hours of dimly lit rooms, cheap bourbon, and Pandora Depression Radio?
Who do we go after? I know 9-3 is not good enough for some around here but DT has been ecstatic. We make the wrong move and it could be 2011 - 2014 all over again. Next year the schedule sets up for a run at 12-0!

I've said it and been ridiculed, but if I'm the dictator, I hire Sumrall as head coach. Then in a year or two, he gets hired away and we get another check like we will when CNB is snatched from our arms. With those buyout checks we cover a practice field and officially have the best facilities in the G5 which leads to the best players and coaches and the circle of life continues.

Well there’s a song about cheap bourbon whiskey and pearl snap shirts. Onto the important topic here. Hugh Freeze is a real possibility in my opinion. Will likely be a very short term. Jim Leavitt and Shayne Beamer were on the short list last time. Here’s my number 1 guy on the list.

Even better is Sumrall comes back as DC and takes the head coaching position when the next guy leaves.

Yep, this year the available positions are much more alluring. Maybe he is eyeballing that cupcake OOC schedule next year too. Barker would drop bombs on the Mizzou D.

Neal has also been mentioned for UNC. That door is shut. They are hiring Mack Brown with Chiz as DC.

It's absolutely hilarious how often Propst's name STILL gets brought in damn near any decently high profile job opening comes up in this state lol I'm just so shocked that no high profile schools are beating down a 60-year olds door to come be an OC somewhere...

The guy can just flat out call plays. It Freeze is in the conversation as HC then Rush must be in the conversation as OC.

Propst is a winner - he is doing it different today than while at Hoover - much different person and human being - The guys wins, period! I am okay with Hugh Freeze - however - he has to recruit kids with character - something he did not do at Ole Miss imo
I do know this - Jeremy McClain has a plan - I trust him and his team to make a great hire

Just read the link to the USA Today article about 9 up and coming coaches. It said Coach Brown's buyout was only $300,000. I thought the buyout was much higher, to help Troy meet other needs in the event of Coach making a move. I hope USA Today has incorrect information.

People have mentioned Mike Houston from James Madison before. I would favor him. Having an alum as coach doesn't always do the trick, and I think if CNB leaves he's taking his staff with him. We'll have a system to rebuild.
Mike Houston has HC experience, he's a winner, he knows how to prep for big games, and he can create/maintain a winning culture.
