This board NEVER ceases to amaze me! Why in the world would you want us to turn down A REAL SELLOUT, meaning all the seats are occupied, not some scheme to sell all the tickets (see Army game 2022). The economic impact of a TRUE SELLOUT would be astronomical for the game day experience, for local businesses, for the entirety of Pike County and the surrounding area? The competition would be AWESOME! Not just on the playing surface, but the bands, the student sections and US, the fans! The atmosphere would be ELECTRIC! I dont know a damn thing about "the rivalry" or the history or the butt hurt feelings some may have. I DO KNOW that travel expenses and cost to the program, I'm guessing, would be SUBSTANTIALLY LESS than traveling to UMASS (thank you COVID for putting that game in the back burner and is now scheduled for 2025, or Nevada in 2024. I promise you Jax St is a BETTER TEAM and program than either Nev. or UMass, but some on this board sound as if playing them is beneath us, or we gain nothing, or... blah, blah, blah. Does anyone, besides me, see the VALUE of playing a team that is going to help ROCK THE HOUSE? Anyone see how valuable to the program this game could be? How being in a FULL STADIUM just makes it better? Anyone? I know nothing about the emotional stress the past has put in some of you ref Jax St. I do think MOST of those in this board have no idea either. Can we just please look BIG PICTURE for once? Put our bias, hatred, disrespect and whatever else you feel deep down and put it aside for the good of the team, school, town, county, state??? Or, we just sit back and preach, "No, no, no to Jax St, they aren't worthy, they haven't paid their dues, does nothing but hurt Troy and help them and ANY OTHER BULLSHIT you want to put out there. If you are scared, SAY IT! I just don't think we are! Also don't believe Brent Jones will look to this board for advice, although I think SOME OF US believe he will! BRING ON JAX ST, REALLY Pack the Vet, EXPLODE the game day tailgate and have the loudest, largest, most engaged student section EVER! But hey, that's just me, an old man trying to figure out the best way to gain revenue for the program, engage the fan base, and bring in THOUSANDS of dollars into the local community. I can see why some of you wouldn't want that, NOT!! You think Jacksonville State has a better football program than Nevada? Nevada has won two conference titles at this level and it's a conference not made up of all FCS schools playing house. I agree with some of your points, but I think the wolfpack caught an unwarranted stray here.

Would be a huge crowd at either place in my opinion plus the Battle of the bands would be back on At the risk of life and limb, I'm going down this rabbit hole. I enjoy the SOtS. I think, historically, they have been the best band in the region and one of the best in the nation. I don't, however, go sit in 98 degree temps and 70% humidity for 8 hours on September and October Saturdays to see and hear marching bands. I couldn't care less about the battle of the bands. Put a quality, competitive product on the field in the form of a ball game, or I'm not interested. SOTS cost us 4 points on Saturday. They need to reclaim their role as assets to the team. When I was on campus, SOTS were the fiercest student fans in attendance. Now? Well, now, "they wanna do the wave".

Biscuits and Bloody Mary's starting at 7:00 AM - Go Trojans! That's the spirit. This can't be the fanbase that ran around yelling "We Fight" for all those years. We can't even fight the snooze button for a nationally televised kick off anymore?

I just hope JMU's backfield tests positive for Trojans multiple times tomorrow. It's time to bring back the boom.

Hello Try fans. Despite my user name I am a longtomeWVU for over 40 years and like any football fan have seen good and not so good times. I am wondering what Troy fans in reflection saw in Neal Brown as he has been our HC for five seasons now and has truly struggled. His biggest issues seem to be to motivate his team, questionable play calling, a suborns to try something different or replace platers who are underperforming. He says the right things but his followthrough isn not there. However he seems a good person, runs a clean program and can be good with donor Can you share any of your experiences as a fan from the Neal Brown days? He is on a very hot seat at WVU and in all honesty would you like to see him return to Troy where he had solid success? His struggles at WVU baffle me as I thought he was a great hire. Here's a fairly in depth interview on the subject:

Chrome Domes don't exist anymore. We only have Cardinal, black, and Icy White. Don’t we still have Silver? Just Brandon and he's out of eligibility.

I just don't get this consternation over an 11:00 a.m. kick other than the "ah shoots" of the people who have direct scheduling conflicts (been there, totally understand). On one thread on this board, we have people arguing over who loves Troy more and all over social media we have fans boo hooing because the big bad ESPN schedulers hurt their feelings. Football is the schools front porch. A lot more company is coming over when the game is on ESPNU than +. This is a good thing. Wake up early, throw a cornflake in your beer, and get into the Vet.

Tomorrow is Game Day! Let's predict the score. Whoever is declared the closest, the rest of us give that user a reputation point. Yeah yeah even if it's me (the most hated poster here). Troy is 3-3 against the Lumberjacks. Tomorrow we gain the advantage. Troy 56 SFA. 6 Don't think I don't notice you picking 'Troy by fitty'. I see it and I love it.

I don't know if it's because it's 103 on the banks of the Alabama today or not, but the flames feel hotter than usual.

This close to the season I know we're all looking for as much Troy football adjacent material as we can get. Hate he won't be on campus for any time with Gunnar. Say what you want about his play on the field, but Gunnar is an absolutely priceless resource for those younger guys with the number of snaps he's seen. We will miss that hard earned wisdom in the room.

We parked next to a gigantic sink hole in a gravel lot last game in H-Burg and then walked to the alumni tailgate and then to the stadium. Seemed like the same distance as parking behind the library at Troy and walking to The Vet.

South will probably be a Thursday night game so I doubt it will be homecoming. Too big a percentage of our fanbase can't tear themselves away from a game between two schools that didn't educate them in order to watch their alma mater to take this risk.

I think Vic would be a great move. He knows the program and when HCJS leaves in a few seasons Neal will already have a familiar DC in place to come home to.
