Congratulations, he’s a good ‘un! Had no idea Faulkner played football! How about the other former jr colleges like Lurlene Wallace, etc.?

I don’t think it should really surprise anyone. We defeated the Panthers twice this season. I'm surprised we did not have a better showing. If you can only score 19 points in a HALF then you will most likely spend a lot of bus time going home!

I was fortunate enough to get to Lincoln for the first game and had a great time. Your fans are first class as was the steak I had later that day! I’ve heard a lot of comments of experiences our fans have had at other venues, mostly bad, but the comments I heard about Nebraska was unusually positive. One fan said, “ they were the first opponent I had ever seen clap for OUR GUYS as they left the field at halftime, quite a show of appreciation and sportsmanship for the effort given”!

If we want good basketball in Troy - fans better start putting a$$es in seats. Our attendance is absolutely pathetic especially considering the facility. Outside of Sodexho concessions - it's a shame. Our fans have not idea how to impact a game. So Go Troy Trojan Basketball teams! WE Believe that you will win and do it again! Yeah... but we need to be realistic and understand that people aren't going to want to come out and watch the men's team when they lose more than they win. Not even students are going to be interested in watching Troy basketball struggle. Yeah, they're on a nice 2-game win streak now, but overall the season has been less than stellar. If this team was having a great season similar to ULL (who's currently 20-4 right now), then attendance would be higher. History proves that. As for the women's team, they do deserve better attendance. They've had three-straight 20-win seasons and two NCAA appearances. Not real sure why attendance hasn't gotten much better over the years. Maybe it's going to take a breakout season where they go 25-4 or something and win an NCAA First Round game. Take Middle Tennessee for example... they had attendance similar to ours until 2004 when they went 24-8, won the Sun Belt, and upset #11 North Carolina in the NCAA tournament in the first round. They're attendance got even better in 2007 when they went 30-4, were ranked in the Top 25, won the Sun Belt, and beat Gonzaga in the NCAA Tourney. Ever since then, MT has been averaging anywhere from 3,500 to 4,000 for women's basketball games... It’s frustrating as a coach and player to hear “you need to dominate every year if you expect my support”! Anybody can call themselves a fan if they jump on the fan wagon during dominating seasons but real fans stay on that wagon in down years. Yes, I realize winning draws fans and financial supporters but Troy students just flat doesn’t support their teams other than football no matter their history. When I played there the joke was we are a suitcase college and you better stay off University Drive at 3:0O on Friday or you will get run over. With the on campus residency there should several hundred students or more at any game. I watched in ESPN3 the other night and it was embarrassing the empty seats. A friend (not Troy grad) asked where the students were!

I just wished I lived closed so I could go to every game!

5 Questions For Spring Practice: 1. Sawyer Smith vs Kaleb Barker vs Gunnar Watson. 2. Jamarius Henderson or Kevin Perkins as feature back. 3. Who will emerge as a playmaker at defensive end? 4. Will Choloh and Sailo have an immediate impact at DT? 5. How Quickly will Sunderland and Samuel adapt to Troy's system? 2018 questions: 1. Sawyer Smith based on talent and mobility 2. JHenderson for sure, we should have used him more often this past season 3. Not much worried here, might take a few weeks, but we have the talent and coaching 4. I think it is too early to expect a FR DT to make an immediate impact 5. Both will be part of the rotation from the beginning and Sunderland will likely play LB (I read this somewhere) Two more Questions:6. Will the OL manage to protect the new starting QB? 7. LBs: Biggest question mark going into the season IMO (next to QB) StrengthsSecondary, Running backs, WRs, Return game UnclearQB Issues LB, Punting/Kicking Predicition:Minor rebuilding year, 8-4 type of season with losses to Boise St (Top15 team, returning 21 Starters) and at Nebraska (quite experienced team and new coaches) We'll be back in 2019 provided we won't lose HC, OC, DC... could be our best season ever, many key players and starters will return, lack of WR depth could be an issue) I’m hearing from people close to the program that the thinking is we can be better than last year! I never understood why Henderson didn’t get more reps with Jabir out!

I would like to see TROY in the End Zone versus Trojans. There are other Trojans, but there is only One TROY. I'd like to see the directional arrows on the field changes to the power T. Two great ideas and add vibrant colors to the end zones!

So what is our biggest weakness next year? I hope its 100 degrees on this day. Our kids will be use to it and Boise - not so much. Here is hoping for a 2:30 Kick or earlier. The heat and humidity is our friend on this day. It will be a tough one for us to win but I have no reason to believe we cannot do it. I like a high noon kick off but TV will determine that!

We may be okay. I believe Brown has a buyout of about $3 Million. I don't know if Arizona would want to spend that kind of money PLUS what they would pay CNB. If they do take him then we'll have about 3 million to go coach shopping. Hoping Brown stays, praying in fact, but it's out of our hands at this point. They just announced, I’m told, that he is their #1 pick!

I love the fast paced offense several of these teams have run in the bowls. All seem to be successful running it. I thought that was our plan and hope we ultimately insert it sometimes rather than when we are behind and the clock is ticking!

I'm not saying that couldn't eventually happen. I just heard an interview the other day with the AD and he was asked about moving up in divisions. He was very clear that they were very happy at the D2 level and aren't looking to pursue division changes. He feels they are in a division that allows all sports, not just football, to compete for championships. It took and “act of Congress” to get them (UWF) into a football program. They resisted it for years. It makes sense that they are in no hurry to move up as SoAl was. They have a good baseball program and once had a good basketball program but the University has never embraced sports like other collages and universities usually do. The passion has not been there.

They have horses on other artificial turf, why not ours? Where? Texas A&M-Lubbock had a horse on turf..it wipe out and they have to euthanize it right on spot. That take excitement out of game in a hurry. End conversation. They have turf horse shoes I’m told now!

We did our bowl without our TWO top receivers, our top running back, our top corner and our starting safety. I know others out but THAT is impressive. You bet it is!

total attendance was 24,900. We had more than half of the attendance. Well more, in my estimation. How easily we become jaded. I was sitting here reading your post and was feeling disappointed the attendance wasn't better. I think that's a valid emotion, it would have been great to see 40,000 there. If, however, your estimate that TROY fans made up more than half the attendance, that means more than 12,500 fans TRAVELLED to New Orleans at the beginning of the holiday season to see the TROJANS play. 12,500! When I attended my first TROY game in '95, we weren't putting 12,500 in the Vet for a HOME game. That was the stadium's capacity at the time and we weren't selling out. 22 short years later, look where we are. I dare say that there are few, if any, programs that have increased their attendance by >100% in the past 22 years. I'm going on record as saying, "It's great to be a TROY TROJAN". I doubt any other bowl had a total attendance if 12,500. Not bad for s little old country school!👍🏽

They can’t with the field turf which is why she went away. The horse would damage the turf. They have horses on other artificial turf, why not ours?

The injuries in the secondary are really showing up A bad snap from center can COMPLETELY change a game. How did we get so many hurt prior to game time?

We have that now, it's called Troy Rugby I want a throw back to the Clipson/Watson days. White tee shirts with red trim that turned orange after the first washing and white game pants (that was really white practice pants) with a single red strip and solid white helmets. We had Home jerseys in bright red with white trim but same game pants, that’s the total package!🤪

I understand, but hard to argue 20-5 with the current process. Seems to be working. Lots and lots of head coaches call their own plays. Guy in the box ABSOLUTELY sees that. Passing down to coach, with the "game feel and tempo" in his gut, seems to be working. Not sure we need to fix something that ain't broke. You feel me? Too often we (players) are left standing and looking toward the coaches waiting. We are far more successful when we speed up the offense like Neil said we would to begin with but hasn’t happened except when we are behind and Time is running out. I think it’s because of all the multiple people in the offensive process! Just my opinion.

Should open some opportunities for GAs on staff, Levi Brown to name one. I believe KDs responsibilities on game day, primarily was to inform Neal of defensive participants, possible schemes, ETC, then they would bounce those variables to their charts, determine priority and check downs, signal to the O, and see what happens. All if this, BTW, in about 3-4 seconds. For Practices, I developed receivers primarily. Not always a fan of the play calling, but I always understood the why. I think Neal kept Kenny until a better, fresh opportunity came along for KD. Prediction: Look for an acorn from the Mum/Leach/Franklin/Brown tree to land in Troy as OC. I prefer that guy upstairs to call plays and let Neil be head coach! Up top he sees the routes coverage, defensive schemes and player placement much better that it can be seen in the sideline. Let’s hire a really good reasonably young spread offense specialists but one with good history for doing this!

How many power 5 schools were trying to hire Blakeney? He was a good coach who stayed a long time here and had success. He recruited a team that should have won at least One FCS title. Give credit for getting Neal Brown here. He also refused to fire the worst coordinator in FBS. I understand he is a sacred cow at Troy, but he was far from perfect. He was 31-7 up at LSU and lost. Should have mopped the floor with a pathetic Tennessee team put up 700 yards of offense up and lost to Derek Dooley. His best FBS season was 9-4. Trust me , Neal Brown could get us to a New year's six bowl in a special season and win more sun belt titles than his predecessor. I have heard good things about Steve Campbell as well. Hope we can get him if when Brown goes. We are a program on the rise now. Blankney being hired by a “power 5 conference school” was hampered for years as a result of Auburn infractions that resulted in him (Blakney)being under NCAA sanctions I understand. Other schools simply stayed away from him because of that. I do understand that he had opportunities later on but stayed here. How soon we forget what a person accomplished. It’s “what have you done for me lately” I guess!

La Monroe can score 50 on them and we can’t score a d—- thing! Because all games are the same? South Al beat Troy and ASU. You understand these games are not equal right? Really, not the same? Da— I would have never guessed THAT! Given your theory based in your extensive coaching background, scouting is a waste of time! It’s pertinent my friend when a weak team can score 50 and you can’t make a first down. Might say something about your plan!
