Open up the newly revamped "VET" against a possible top 15 team. I'm good with that as a statement game!
For the fence riders, the Aubs will be in Atlanta, the Bammars in Orlando. We should be able to capture a lot of casual fans. Come on September!

So what is our biggest weakness next year? I hope its 100 degrees on this day. Our kids will be use to it and Boise - not so much. Here is hoping for a 2:30 Kick or earlier. The heat and humidity is our friend on this day. It will be a tough one for us to win but I have no reason to believe we cannot do it.

I think attending the spring game will be worth it this year. There are going to be lots of position battles.

So what is our biggest weakness next year? QB inexperience. No Chunn. Could be tough going early on. The good news is we bring back almost everyone on the O-Line and have some real talent returning at WR. A couple hosses at DT are gone, and depth in the secondary is always a concern since we have what amounts to five positions back there. Finding the right leadership is the primary concern. We have the talent to win every game on our schedule, but we lose of leadership and experience.

Hendo is more than capable of being the man. I think some on here don't like the edge he plays with, but as long as NB plays him, I'm a fan. #WeFight #RTW

I like the edge Henderson plays with - its the over the edge after the play I can't come to grips with - rush for 12 and get 15 for unsportsmanlike conduct math doesn't work He is a stud though - probably the best player on the field when he is on it
look forward to seeing the Perkins kid, Jabir Frye will be back, BJ Smith, the redshirt from scottsboro i heare is pretty good to and our D should not step back much at all IMO - we played a lot of people - Zo Bridgers, Mixon brothers - think are in a great spot if they get bigger faster and stronger in the off season

He has the potential to be a game changer for us, but to realize that potential he must find a way to play to the edge but not fall over it. He can do it, and to the credit of him and the staff, improvement in this area was evident by season's end. It's a shame he was injured at the end, he would have been fun to watch.

But it's not the same as having veterans like Silvers and Chunn. There will be some growing pains until we figure out the best way to scheme for this new group. Timing on routes, handoffs to running backs, and overall team chemistry is not going to be as polished as it has been when we open vs Boise.

I never stated they were veterans, but these are not newbies. I get that some would believe that it'll be some timing issues, but again, Smith and Barker have been throwing to these guys for at least 2 years. As long as they're doing what they need to do, it's not a big deal to me that Silvers is gone. We have the talent to replace him.

Having a true dual threat QB is going to open this offense up and take it to a whole new level of wow!

Key to success on Offense: experienced and talented OL! And deep there too ... lot of young talent from this and previous class. Dual threat at QB. Neither will be the passer Silvers was ... but both offer something different than we had with Silvers ... defense will have to defend all 11 ... should open up passing lanes. Willis showed last several games what a force he can be at WR ... Douglas, Frye, Letton, etc. and I think we'll have some dept. I think RB will be fine .. all the name mentioned above. Agree, if Henderson can stay on field... next level talent. Defense: All the LBs were inexperienced last year ... now all are coming back!! DBs will be talented ... and think there's some young depth. Biggest ?? is interior line. If we can sign the Choloh kid ... I think he and Pierce play this year. Also, I think Robinson redshirted ... he's a hoss! I predict Lucky has a breakout year ... he and Bridges we terrorize QBs!! Can't wait until Spring to see how it all works our!

I thing Smith might be a even better passer than Silvers (time will tell) and Barker can run and it will be exciting to see how his throws come along. Have full faith in VK on defense even with a young group. We are extremely fortunate to have him.

Don't forget Hunter Reese 1st Team All SBC at bandit. BANDIT: Hunter Reese / Zo Bridges / Terrance Corbett DT: Trevon Sanders / Michael Robinson / Will Choloh DT: Marcus Webb / Travis Sailo / Bryan Slater or Jarvis Bryant DE: Kelvin Lucky / Rasool Clemons / John Hines / Jarvis Hayes There's some serious talent and depth at DE/BAN. We have options at DT/NT and we have one of the best DT coaches in America. Believe that. With all the LBs we have coming back, we could be even better in the front 7 this year. Hard to improve nationally on 2nd in rush defense, 2nd in tackles for loss, and 7th in sacks, but I think we have the capability to do so. Will Choloh can play right away if we sign him. My biggest worry, as is in most years, is depth in the secondary. We have outstanding corners, but who is going to step up behind them, and what of the spear position and the safety position left by Weatherspoon? Monday Night Football has been a boone this year as far as depth goes, and I think that will pay dividends this coming year.

Took a minute to scroll through the roster ... lots of good Young (Fresh to Jr) at those LB/Ban/DE positions! I think opposing QBs will have a hard time staying on their feet! Lost 3 really good inside players ... but good depth there. Thinking of DB ... I think they expect at least a couple of the Freshmen to play right away. Also, didn't Eaford work some at DB as well?? Just really impressed with the kids the staff have brought in the last few years!

I like a high noon kick off but TV will determine that!

I was thinking the same thing Redwaver, would be fun to open at high-noon (or even 11 AM) with temperatures rising during the game to help our friends from Idaho enjoy some of our late summer heat! Could play to our advantage. As you say, TV will dictate the kick-off time. Would love for GAMEDAY to visit Troy in our season opener, could show off the new-look stadium to the nation over the Labor Day weekend!
Go TROY!

Coming in for one or two plays and just running the ball or coming in with a lead is not the same as leading the offense. I think him and Smith are both talented and spring will tell who gets the job. I have to think the coaches know something redshirting Smith last season to give him three years. Also nothing says Watson cant win the job either. True freshmen start at other programs, may the best man win the job
