I think he would be a great choice but would he really leave ULL and his position as AD to come back?

Could it be that he chose Samford because he could play immediately and not have to sot a year? Sanford is in the same basketball division as Troy. The same rules apply. If it was football then it would be different

Apparently, the trailer park behind Popeyes is also called (or owned by) Dozier. I always thought Dozier was next to the Hampton Inn. I still find it odd that Publix will be behind a bunch of old small businesses and even that Yamaha place. There is some sort of junk yard behind Yamaha that wouldn't mess well with Publix'so squeaky clean image. The Dozier next to Hampton Inn has already been torn down.

He turned his back on the school that got him to where he is... So, no I will not. I dont understand why you are singling out one athlete when it is a problem that has happened with several. I remember even Demarcus putting War Eagle on his Twitter during an iron bowl

Alabama and auburn will not play any of the G5 schools in football. It's not going to happen. Not sure I understand, they already play schools in the "G5"

Are you going to stop supporting Jerrel Jernigan? He openly cheers for Duke basketball on his social media Good point. Jerrell has cheered for Duke for many years on Twitter during games. He hasn't quite proclaimed his love for Duke in the manner that Robinson has for Bama in my opinion. Also, in Jerrell's defense I know he has regularly attended basketball and baseball, as well as football games since leaving Troy. I agree. I do know Clint and know that he supports the baseball program that gave him his opportunity. I don't like athletes cheering for other schools either, but it really makes me mad when they cheer for/support financially another school in the same sport they played.

I guess I saw something different, but towards the end of the year, especially the last two games I thought Silvers played really well and started to come into his own. He was throwing downfield more in those games and running the ball well. When I saw Pruitt it was a guy who could only throw one speed whether the receiver was 30 yards downfield or in the flat.

Then you are not TROY "people" because you choose not to be. Not because of anything we have done. Not good enough for you I see. You are from there, you don't get it. I have old teammates and a couple of people I have met that have been friendly but it gets different every year. My wife doesn't even enjoy coming up anymore I'm not from here, but have made it my home now. and have been able to "fit in" quite nicely.

I know it's way early but has anyone looked into flights, hotels transportation for this game? Would really like to do this one. It'd be good if the school could arrange travel packages to guys like this.

One looks to be a UNLV transfer, the other ?? Both from Evans HS. Evans is a decent program. It draws from a really, really rough area in Pine Hills but they have a decent program with a lot of speed. Welcome aboard. The UNLV transfer is a guy that was highly regarded on their message board. He was recruited as a QB to UNLV and was said to be very althletic/slippery, etc. He will play WR for Troy it appears. He's one to keep an eye on as spring and fall ball unfold. Will he have to sit out?

REAL RECRUITING UPDATE:BIG NEWS. Will need confirmation on this. A.J. Smiley has committed to Troy as of today. He is listed as an Athlete and a Safety. 6'3" 199. Has offers from Nebraska, Marshall, Georgia Southern, and Troy. He is the son of a prominent NFL player I believe. Vic Koenning and Co. will be getting a good one if he signs. He hails from Spain Park High School in Hoover, AL. I believe that's a big time program. I would have posted separately in the recruiting forum, but I believe only Trojan Warrior has access. On a separate note, we finished dead last in the SBC last season in recruiting on 247, and this year we will likely end dead center. That's a huge improvement for a staff that's only had a couple months to recruit. troy.247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/Commits I would say if the player himself is a good source then it's true.

This is something the campus started this year. It is something many students have gotten involved with and it is really great to see the work they are doing in the community.

New white helmet with silver shield/facemask and pointed silver stripe down the middle floating around......looks really, really good! I like the white one better than the chrome. Do you have a picture or link? I've searched and can't find anything.

Depth and some inexperience...WPJ & co had a shaky start but battled back and took a lead with like 3 mins to go...injuries have hit this team pretty hard, but the effort is evident. Injuries? This was the point in our strength and conditioning. If we are using the football one across the board, this has to change. We are getting a ton of injuries in our sports. Volleyball was hit hard, men's basketball and our softball team got hit last year. Football S&C hasn't been used across the board for sometime. That post from the softball player had to have been someone from a while back. Most all teams have a S&C coach specific to them and that does workouts that suit their sport. Sometimes injuries happen, you can do all you can through S&C but that will not completely stop injuries.
