On the quick tempo of practice…"Yes (that is how we will be playing). I think kids are these days are easily distracted. So, we will practice with a lot of pace. That is how we want to play. We want to play really fast, and we would love to lead the country in plays per game." - Head Coach Neal Brown
* Neal Brown (OC at Texas Tech) lead the country in plays per game from '10 to '12 at Texas Tech.
On Winter Workouts..."We had a good winter. A lot of the credit needs to go to our strength staff led by coach Rafael Horton. Our coaches have all been really involved, seeing them athletically. So, to get them out on the grass today and see them do football drills was great. We had good energy, like any other day one I've been a part of. It's all about rebuilding this wall." - Head Coach Neal Brown

I love these quotes from Coach, sounds like we are not only rebuilding the WALL this year but will go at such a rampant pace that we may not have a chance to go to the restroom during games except for half time (so we won't miss any plays)!!!
Go TROY!

I know this is really to early to say, but I really dont believe that Silvers will be the starter next year. I think it will be someone else. I have my eyes on that new kid that is coming in from Miss.

I have my eyes on that new kid that is coming in from Miss. I don't know that Silvers will be the QB either, though I doubt Minshew wins the job as a true freshman. In the article above, one of the players stated that the offense is much more complex than last year's offense. Might be tough on Minshew.

Silvers progression thru the season leads me to believe he will be......the speed of the college game particularly our first few are a real deterrent to having a true frosh quarterback.....when you where the red jersey in practice .....that is LOT different then game time.....those decisions come fast and hard and the learning curve is steep.......I expect it will be Silvers for these reasons....if he is solid would not be surprised to see Minshew redshirt this year and learn system really well.....he may push Silvers in future...but for now the speed of this game is tough tough tough for a true frosh....with that said I think Minshew will be fantastic in this program....and really expect him to be the man a couple of years from now...

NB stated that he liked Silvers' comp percentage and they were going to work on his calculated risks of throwing it down field. I think that will bring him back towards the pack. All things being equal, as I stated last season, go with the guy that has won outside of high school...Pruitt. It seems the staff likes the winning attitude from EMCC SAs...

I guess I saw something different, but towards the end of the year, especially the last two games I thought Silvers played really well and started to come into his own. He was throwing downfield more in those games and running the ball well. When I saw Pruitt it was a guy who could only throw one speed whether the receiver was 30 yards downfield or in the flat.

I believe this coaching staff will choose the best man for the job.

Do you think they will name a starter coming out of spring? We will probably have a top three but no starter until sometime in fall camp.

Pruitt always looked frantic like was worried that a defender would come around the corner and sack him at any moment. Overall, when the spread has been run to perfection at Troy, quick delivery was key. There was too much "thinking" and loss aversion last year. Paralysis Analysis. Get the play, dump the ball off (I'm generalizing, but you get the point.)

I think that KE has gotten away from what it was that The System was supposed to be. It's kind of evident by the new playbook being "complex." They have simplified the playbooks until they mostly run the same plays on offense and the base defense. If you're not multiple, especially on defense, you get what you've gotten the past several years. Playbook study will be the determining factor in the resurgence of the Men of Troy.

Just please no more of this:
1st down: Dive 2nd down: Bubble screen 3rd down: Draw 4th down: Dive (straight in to the back of the right guard)

Its not 1 of 5 plays in the books and its not the same variety of screen each time. Could be a screen with Dontrell at WR....... And then...... BAM! <--DT84 does believe that is legal for a QB #. Correct me if wrong.

A change in coaching staff...a few changes with players...there should be no barriers to succeeding now, whether it be real or imagined. I'm just ready for our Trojans to see the fruits of their labors in the classroom and on the scoreboard.

Predictability. Cornerstone of the the Troy O, past 4 years. Heard it from alums, past Trojan players, color men on broadcasts etc, etc... ad nauseum. Predictable plays, predictable results.

I'm excited. Can't wait for T-Day.

Just from listening to Silvers speak in the video, he seemed lethargic.....I know he had just finished, but from his actions he seemed to be a little over whelmed by everything. Just my opinion though.
