Clint Robinson has made the opening day roster for the Washington Nationals. A great Trojan proves that hard work and tenacity pay off! Congratulations! for a much deserved and overdue opportunity!

But, he claims to be an Alabama fan... I refuse to support anybody that graduates from Troy, especially an athlete and openly supports another school that he or she never went to.
Very disappointing.

Dance with who brought you.
Bama never did a d@mn thing for him, but yet he roots for them. If he loved Bama so much, he should have went there.
Go Troy and only Troy!

This. I really don't care who he roots for. If it weren't for Troy he wouldn't be on the Nationals opening day roster. For all those that complained about the softball teams in years past being Bama football fans, how Is this any different? You don't see Bama players in the NFL proclaiming their love for Troy baseball. I think it's a slap in the face to the Troy athletic department, but he has the individual right to feel that way.

Troy gave him his education, Alabama didn't! Troy and coach Pierce saw his talents and gave him a scholarship for that free education, Alabama didn't! Troy gave him the opportunity to play and coach Pierce and assistants gave him their efforts and knowledge to progress to where he is today, and Alabama didn't give him a darn thing. He has every right to root for whomever he chooses and we have every right to wonder why he supports a team that did nothing for him. His chance to give his school and team credit and he passes to Alabama. This is the eternal never ending frustration I feel every time I see an ungrateful graduate who chooses to support a school that did nothing for them! It's beyond disgusting ....but his right to do it!

So just because a guy who played for us happens to be interested in another team as well that somehow makes him ungrateful? I guarantee you he isn't the only one. As long as they chose to suit up for the Trojans, I'm going to support them.

Are you going to stop supporting Jerrel Jernigan? He openly cheers for Duke basketball on his social media

Are you going to stop supporting Jerrel Jernigan? He openly cheers for Duke basketball on his social media Good point. Jerrell has cheered for Duke for many years on Twitter during games. He hasn't quite proclaimed his love for Duke in the manner that Robinson has for Bama in my opinion. Also, in Jerrell's defense I know he has regularly attended basketball and baseball, as well as football games since leaving Troy.

I do know Clint and know that he supports the baseball program that gave him his opportunity. I don't like athletes cheering for other schools either, but it really makes me mad when they cheer for/support financially another school in the same sport they played.

I have never heard Clint put down Troy, quite the opposite, in my conversations with him he is indeed grateful to Troy and supports Troy baseball. In my house we support 4 different college athletic programs, not to the level that we do Troy, but we are fans of other programs as well. Is it not possible to support more than one? I do understand that bammer is different to some degree because we are in the same state and many of their fans are extremely obnoxious. I suspect some of our most generous and avid supporters also support other schools' athletic programs.

Troy and only Troy.
Troy gave me the degree that has me in the position I'm in today.
Other schools have done NOTHING for me... Why pull for them? Why waste effort on them, that could be shown to MY university?
As far as JJ goes, I think that's a whole different animal...

I see your point, do I like that he pulls for duke in basketball? No, but at the end of the day if Troy played Duke in Basketball, I think he'd be wearing his cardinal.
I'm not sure if Clint would do the same if we played Bamer in football.

I'm not sure if Clint would do the same if we played Bamer in football. I see your point as well. I guess my thing is that if you want to root for another team, then I have no problem with it. However, if Troy plays your other team and you root for the other team, then that isn't cool. I am a former TSU athlete who has other rooting interests but Troy always comes first whenever we play those other rooting interests.
