We need major help on the D-Line and at the corner position. Hopefully we can some immediate impact players there.

His record since leaving Troy hasn't been the greatest... I just don't want another Bolt type of situation. If you look at the defenses where he has been, they've been good with the exception of this year at UNC

I know you're a big fan of Dean, but how could he recruit to a place that he was so negative about when he left? College is different from high school. His comments were still about the city of Troy. It would not be hard for any other coach to point that out to a recruit

Footballscoop is reporting that John Sumrall will join the staff. Doesn't say as the DC but thats what I would think.

I've seen a few ramblings of guys commuting to Troy yesterday:) This one will have a few of you excited.... @dewisetrojan: On @gameplanlance this morning, Neal Brown said recruiting focus in FL will be in the Orlando/Tampa area & north. In GA, Atlanta & south. Where did you see those ramblings?

We need the right weapons though, otherwise this offense can get really frustrating...might take another two recruiting classes and a few transfers to get there + we definitely need an athletic QB who can throw and run the ball (i.e. another Omar). Why do we need that in a QB?? Neal's best offense at Troy was with a QB who wasn't much of a runner (Levi).

From what I'm hearing and seeing on twitter, etc. I'm ecstatic about 2015... 1.2 million for the assistants... Highest in the Sun Belt! We are on our way up... Again! I could be wrong and I usually am, but I thought 1.2 million included Neals $660,000? The 1.2 is a separate total for the assistants.

I will just throw this quote out from a player that played the 2010 season. He said if Silvers had the talent around him that Corey had in 10 everyone would be claiming him to be on course to be the greatest Troy quarterback ever. Quarterbacks are only as good or bad as the talent surrounding them. Definitely saw more of what he is capable of on Saturday. I thought he looked good and his future is bright.

Three assistants will be retained, per Brown: Reagan, Wasden....and Edenfield. Hopefully not in the same positions....... Said responbilities werent determined right now but having worked with them previously wanted to keep them. I feel that Neal will be the play caller

I agree it's a good list. One of the changes I would have would be to add Jason Samples to the receiver list. Not sure who to take off. But in the era when we didn't throw the ball much, that man would catch anything.

With the low recruiting budget and lack of support he had at FIU it was difficult to recruit outside an area that has a heavy concentration of thug culture. Well he came 6 hours up here to recruit a nice catholic thug from the catholic HS here gay-laugh He got arrested and expelled for firing a gun on campus. And several of his teammates got arrested for showering but naked at the showers on the beach. he can coach and recruit. My problem with him is he played at the U during the height of the thug days and he seemed to recruit that type a lot to FIU. The kid he signed from here, one of my employees grand son was on that HS team and he said they signed trouble with that kid. He got in trouble at the catholic school and had to transfer to his public HS after the season, and he told me that if he made it two years at FIU it woukd be a miracle. He got expelled his second year. Showering naked at the beach is a thug action? Man, I'm sure they just wanted to get all the sand out!

And if they change Offenses it will be a disaster Thats why people left when Franklin came in and brought the spread with him. We went from Julian Foster a drop back passer to Franklin going out and bringing in Omar to run the spread. I wouldn't have considered Julian Foster a drop back passer. I think we just had a patchwork offense in 2005, hence the change.

When I hear about Texas HS coaching legends, the name that pops into my head is Todd Dodge...not to disparage any other coaches from that vast state, but I'm leery of the the HS ranks for a HC...maybe a coordinator, not the head man. I think The Dream was having a little fun with some movie/TV coaching legends.

Give me two former CHHS head coaches as coordinators and the The Dream will be happy. Jamey Dubose - OC Mike Dean - DC After what Dean said, I'm not sure he'd want to come back or Troy people would want him back.

Any news if we are having any success getting a center. I don't know a lot about basketball but I hear we get killed on the boards a lot. It would be great if we could land a 6"10 center. We actually had a 6"10 center when I attended and he was a pretty good player. Last year, our team averages 35.5 rebounds a game, the opponents averages...35.5. I wouldn't say we are getting killed on the boards. While getting a good center certainly will help things, I think Coach Cunningham adjusted pretty well with what he had.
