They tells you where they are committing from. You don’t know where they try. They could try all over the world but it’s not easiest to get these kids to Troy. Arguably the greatest pitcher Troy ever had came from 30 hours by plane away and pitched for their Olympic team but we can't get a player from longer than a six hour drive. Got it Greatest pitcher came from 30 minutes away

I'm just curious. Do know for a fact that the coaches aren't recruiting all over the country or at national softball tournaments? Or that they haven't tried the portal? Roster tells you where they recruit. Do you see any players from anywhere except a 300-400 mile radius? They tells you where they are committing from. You don’t know where they try. They could try all over the world but it’s not easiest to get these kids to Troy.

Great analysis. I personally don't believe Troy is going to be able to compete for any at-large bids or even the SBC title until two things begin happening: (1) recruit players from all over the country instead of just the southeast. Recruit at the national softball tournaments. Utilize the portal more. (2) schedule tougher. Stop scheduling so many SWAC and NEC teams. We played 4 SWAC schools, and then played in the Madeira Beach tournament against 3 awful NEC schools. Those games kill the RPI, even if you win them all. There has to be a better way of scheduling, especially since Troy is consistently a Top 75 team that helps everyone's SOS. Many good programs are looking for those kind of games. I'm just curious. Do know for a fact that the coaches aren't recruiting all over the country or at national softball tournaments? Or that they haven't tried the portal?

Can’t stand losing to the BArN and Bamer… the only sports they play us in is Softball and Baseball… we should whup em’… Could have made a statement to the rankings, instate recruits and to locals, but we choked. Why can’t we win these big In state games? No DA comments from the peanut gallery… aka American Dream/Sting We didn’t choke. It was a good game against a good team. As good as this team has been recently, there is still some flaws with midweek pitching. We can still go tonTexas State this weekend, take 2 or all 3 and be just fine.

We didn’t win 40 until Tuscaloosa last year. That’s not the magic number. It’s always been known as the magic number for the committee. Once you get 40, it’s a much better chance to get in

Yet South Alabama, who also doesn't charge admission, is recruiting players from Louisiana, South Florida, Mississippi, Idaho, Maryland, Arizona, and Oklahoma? And poor Marshall has been able to recruit from California to North Carolina over the past couple of years? It's not all about flying cross country to recruit... if so, USA and especially Marshall wouldn't have the recruits they have. Softball recruiting doesn't work the same as football and basketball. The coaches recruit a lot at big tournaments. Skylar Meade, for instance, does a crap ton of recruiting north of Atlanta when national tournaments are held at Lake Point Sports. He's not flying to Canada, Texas, Illinois, New Jersey , Wisconsin, and California to recruit our players and do in-home visits. Y’all should really be more informed before posting. It took less than 30 seconds to look up that South charges for softball. Also have a specific softball giving section on their site. We don’t. giving.usajaguars.com/Bullpen

Feel free to write a check to fund the cross country recruiting trips for a sport that doesn’t even charge admission to the games. I’m sure your donation earmarked for softball recruiting trips will be out to good use. Mississippi player came from JUCO in the panhandle and Oklahoma player was a transfer from Coastal Carolina.

Coach Parker's wife! I think she made about 7 in a row. There's a reason she's a hall of famer at Morehead State. Still holds tons of records there.

Anyone not keeping up, we have 1 loss, swept a team predicted to win their conference, and proved we can come back and rally as well! Weekend will be good test as will next week. Plus an 11 game road marathon will build for later in season Not trying to look far ahead but after this weekend is a big 5-game stretch. At #16 Alabama, 3 at #20 Indiana, vs #23 Auburn in Trash Panda field.

I thought they allowed statAte to get away with a lot of hard contact at the basket only to call light contact against us on the other end. Were those light contact foul calls legit? probably, but to call those after letting the hard body contact to our guys under the basket go uncalled was frustrating. That’s just me. I could be wrong, but that’s the way I saw it. I saw them letting alot of contact happen on both sides

We shot 39% from the floor in the second half and were out scored by 18. We lost the rebound battle, the TO battle ,the fouls battle (I have some thoughts about that too), the second chance point battle and the points in the paint battle. HCSC described it as “terrible “ and I think that sums it up. Not a good night for the good guys. See you all in The Arena Saturday as we attempt to bounce back vs ULM. I sat on the floor and I thought those officials called a fair game. Those are some of the best we will get, two of them having worked Final Fours.

ANYONE ELSE seen OR heard anything about this … “Matt Zenitz … Appalachian State is expected to hire Eric McDaniel as defensive line coach, sources tell 247sports. McDaniel worked at Troy the last two seasons and produced nine All-Sun Belt selections these last two years, including four first-team selections.” Congrats to him. He was no longer with us and needed a spot. Hate it’s with those guys.

I know my man Jones Oxygen is doing everything he can. When the thing opens up to membership levels for individuals, I think we will reach those numbers.
