Gunnar Watson had 4 TDs and 0 INTs today. The haters are leaving the building.

10 football minutes away from a second consecutive SBC-West title if the score holds!

If Texas state and ark state lose today we win the west no matter what happens the rest of the season. But that’s rat poison! Correct!

Great redzone defense. Need to reel in the big plays. Great game otherwise.

With Southern Miss beating ULL last night, doesn’t that pretty much lock us into the Championship game? Correct me if I’m wrong. 99.6% chance according to ESPN. If we lose two of our last three though, the winner of the Arkansas State / Texas State game would go if the winner ends the season with only two conference losses. South is still in it mathematically, but a lot of weird things have to happen: Troy has to lose all three of it's final games, and South has to win all three of it's remaining games. Neither scenario is plausible.

Our last two opponents of the season are playing each other on ESPNU right now. Tied at 7-7.

You are not wrong. The minute the season started this should have been over. If they truly cared about their athletes and their they would have been fighting all summer so that this would be a non-issue come September. No matter what their record would be. Thirteen other teams have been operating under the assumption that JUM was ineligible. Also, at the beginning of the season, bids were sent out on behalf of the conference to hotels in every Sun Belt market reserving rooms in the event that any given Sun Belt team could have played host to the Championship. If JMU was ineligible at that time, I would wager that they were not included in this. It could be a hardship on the West representative should they have less than stellar accommodations or are more than one hour away. I'm personally not familiar with Harrisonburgville. Additionally, what about those teams in the East who, until a week or so ago, were still under the assumption they had a shot at the Championship game. What about those athletes? Other SBC teams still have a shot. Would be poetic justice for App and Coastal to beat them. Coastal would have the tie breaker over JMU even in normal circumstances. JMU lost their best player last week (15.5 sacks so far this year), and other injuries are mounting up. Now, they have to deal with this national distraction they are creating for themselves. There is a chance JMU loses a game or two down the stretch, which makes all of this posturing a bit premature.

Question Would y’all rather play Ga Southern or Coastal Carolina in the CCG and we host it in Troy again? Or would you rather get another shot at a ranked JMU but it’s in Virginia? Coastal. The idea of a rematch of last year's game would be fun. Georgia Southern may make it to the title game, but after blowout loses to JMU an TXST, I don't think I want them there. Would be a bad look for the Sun Belt. APP is still alive, but it's a long shot. Would be nice to avenge "that" loss. If it's JMU, it would get a lot of media buzz and eyeballs on TV. Could be what decides if the game is on ESPN or ABC. I'm not sure we beat them in Virginia, though. They are something like 55-3 at home over the last five years. But hey, anytime, anywhere, anybody! It would be a game with the top two teams, though.

Good chance we're in. We'd have to lose two of our last three to not make it. ESPN FPI gives is a 97% of making it to the title game.
JUST losing to Louisiana, we'd still be in with 2 SBC losses and tie breakers over everyone else.
The other two games are against the leagues worst teams in ULM and USM, but ULM is in Monroe. Lose that one, and the final two games become must wins.
We are hosting even if we drop a game.
Let's go back to back!!!

Well well Well!!! We got some breathing room boys. Yep. Let's not lose our breathing room by losing in Monroe and having to face a pissed off Cajun team trying to get bowl eligible.

This is the third game in a row that Troy has not allowed a sack. 116 yards for Vidal, and he's still leads the nation in rushing. O-Line is doing work!

I saw something today from Kimani that, at least to my eyes, has been missing this year and that is break away speed. There have ben several plays where Kimani breaks a big run but gets tackled from behind as it appears he runs out of gas. NOT TODAY! When he broke that long run up the middle for the TD today, nobody was going to catch him. It was good to see him run away from the defense. I will say he's fortunate he didn't get hurt on that play as the defender chasing him horse collared him 5 yards into the end zone. Bubba, you might be right.

Stat I just heard from an Army preview: Kimani's 487 yards after contact leads the nation. I don't know if that's just running backs, but that's a pretty awesome stat. Not sure how to verify that, though.

He has a chance to make history here and be among the NCAA greats. Hear me out...
James Madison is #1 in rush defense, and has lead the nation in rush defense by a mile for the last two seasons. The Dukes are only giving up 38 yards per game, total, on the ground. That is almost certainly an NCAA record.
Kansas State is #15 in rush defense, and has played SEC and Big 12 opponents.
Georgia State is #22. Three Top 25 rush defenses. Who you play matters.
Kimani was held to under 100 versus those guys. But, he played lights out versus SFA, ARKST, and WKU.
Here's what Kimani has left: #118 Southern Miss, #106 Louisiana Monroe, #104 Texas State, #101 Army, #85 Louisiana, and #40 South Alabama. Kingmani, the Vidallion Stallion, is about to EAT!
Decent chance he will gobble up another 800 yards during the season. Outside chance of getting to 2,000 with a CCG and Bowl Game!

I started this thread and i tried to make sure the the criticism I was voicing was over the performance, not the player. I want to make sure that just as I sometimes am critical, I also giver credit when due. I didn't see a single low snap Saturday, and if there were any, they didn't occur often enough to impact the game. Kudos to those whose I know worked hard to make these improvements. I especially want to recognize the efforts of our center. He put in the work and it shows. Hopefully, this issue is behind us. I also noticed the snaps were dramatically improved as well. Also, Gunnar did not throw one interception on Saturday for the first time in I don't know how long. 0 sacks since WKU as well. O-Line is getting it together.

I'm gonna say Troy wins 28-14. Army has not been that impressive, but they did play us close last year, and the game is in New York.

The Army game is the only game that could trip Troy up the rest of the year. Army has an ok defense. With our defense we win this one and go on to cruise the remainder of the year to the championship game. And if you get a chance or opportunity, go to this game. It will be one of the best away games you will ever get to experience. West Point and stadium are gorgeous. Texas State, South, and Louisiana are all capable. Monroe in Monroe is never cakewalk either. Tough stretch of games coming up.

I think something has been figured out. Dang near 600 in offense. It's hard to get 300 yards on the defense. Great job Great win. I know Arkansas state is terrible but beat those you are supposed to beat The spread ended at 15. We beat them by 34. If it weren't for a few mental mistakes (punt penalty and fumble inside the 10), we would have scored 50 points.

There's a lot of teams in the Sun Belt that are getting a lot of media hype that we're just going to smack around to make people realize their early season schedules are garbage. These teams are playing UMASS, Stony Brook, Southern Miss, Ball State, UAB, Nevada, Buffalo, etc and getting pats on the back for lighting up the scoreboard. This TMTDM defense is for real, and will be a wake up call for these bright eyed and bushy tailed programs. Three full games of tape on the 17 year old red wolf freshman quarterback. The TMTDM defense is ready. 2 games of tape. He played 1 series against Stony Brook. And please, be nice to us. While its no accomplishment to score 52 points on UMass, we haven't put 52 points on an FBS team in like a decade. Let us have this single moment in time. Only because I like you, Chief, lol. He is obviously much better than the opponents he's played. Not sure he's ready for better defenses just yet, though. It will be a tough test for him. For what it's worth, I hope Butch Jones turns it around or you get to fire him and get someone better. Best of luck after next week.

I thought all of these numbers would be higher by now. Maybe not ours based on what Neal and [redacted] were making. I remember when Hudspeth was making 1M back in the Neal Brown era. Hudspeth was making a ton of money back then, but he was the highest, and it seems 1M is still the highest number.
