Good chance we're in. We'd have to lose two of our last three to not make it. ESPN FPI gives is a 97% of making it to the title game.
JUST losing to Louisiana, we'd still be in with 2 SBC losses and tie breakers over everyone else.
The other two games are against the leagues worst teams in ULM and USM, but ULM is in Monroe. Lose that one, and the final two games become must wins.
We are hosting even if we drop a game.
Let's go back to back!!!

Question
Would y’all rather play Ga Southern or Coastal Carolina in the CCG and we host it in Troy again?
Or would you rather get another shot at a ranked JMU but it’s in Virginia?

Question Would y’all rather play Ga Southern or Coastal Carolina in the CCG and we host it in Troy again? Or would you rather get another shot at a ranked JMU but it’s in Virginia? Coastal. The idea of a rematch of last year's game would be fun. Georgia Southern may make it to the title game, but after blowout loses to JMU an TXST, I don't think I want them there. Would be a bad look for the Sun Belt. APP is still alive, but it's a long shot. Would be nice to avenge "that" loss. If it's JMU, it would get a lot of media buzz and eyeballs on TV. Could be what decides if the game is on ESPN or ABC. I'm not sure we beat them in Virginia, though. They are something like 55-3 at home over the last five years. But hey, anytime, anywhere, anybody! It would be a game with the top two teams, though.

This question is easy. JMU being the host would be best for the conference and us. If they are not in game there would be an asterisk by our name even if we win. The rule maybe stupid and not even germane with that extra Covid year and the amount of scholarships etc. I want what is best. Yes letting them in does put game in Virginia but it is over all best for everyone.

Coastal. JMU knows the rules, we sat out when we came up. There will be no asterisk by OUR 8th conference title.

The east is a mess. 3 to 4 teams all in the hunt. Selfishly I would want app state to win out with some help. Let's have a rematch of last year's hail mary game. Then beat the snot out of them

This is me. I’m holding a screaming chicken during the last SBC game. It was so effective, the Coastal fans in the picture left to find other seats. I have 5 of them I think. I’m wondering if we could start a campaign to get more of these. I’m sure if we ordered in bulk, we could get a price. I think it would be awesome if there was a stadium full if these if we play Coastal.

Did receive 2 votes coaches poll and none in AP found fascinating Tulane went up one in both with a mail biter over ECU who is not doing well this year. PS approximately 6 teams ahead since JMU will not be in contention.

Realistically I think Georgia Southern will represent the East but truth be told I'd love to return the favor to JMU and beat them but this time in their house for the championship.

Question… Do we tear down the goalposts when we win?
I say no… cause we need to act like that we’ve been there before.
I understand why we did it last year, cause Lord knows we needed to celebrate the Bald Headed dumb a$$’s departure and actually playing TROJAN football, but ya… We need to act like we expect to win a conference championship every year.

^ I agree. The goal posts, we've been there and done that. The students however, are going to do what students do. If they go for the posts, I will cheer them on.

But it ain’t gonna be JMU so our chances of getting and hosting that game are really good. A famous quote sums it up for me: “Just win baby”

It's been stated here before, but JMU can not qualify as conference champions until 2024, thus no championship game this season again. The only way they go bowling is if there are not enough 6-win teams to fill all the bowl slots. The same applies to Jax State regarding the opportunity to go bowling in 2023. We control our own destiny, which is a wonderful situation to be in.
Go TROY!

If there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill all the bowl spots, then I have no problem with them playing in a bowl. I do not think, however, they should be allowed to play for the conference title. As has been stated ad nauseum, they knew the conditions of transition when they decided to make the move. Since they should not be allowed to play for the conference title, they should not be placed in a NY6 bowl. JMO.

If it’s granted and they win the east. They will be in the championship and as it stands right now, will host the game. Huge turn of events if ncaa makes this change

JMU is our only path to a NY6 bowl. Both of us win out, and then kick their smug A**.

Is this the last year of NY6 since it’s going to a 13 team playoff next year? Not sure what the future looks like right now.

There is something curious that is occurring. ESPN announcers and others in sports world are directly and repeatedly asking or telling the NCAA that given the circumstances and what JMU has done that they should be allowed. So, there is an unconventional side of this not being driven by JMU. The hooked on Sunbelt podcast covered this quite well. I know if granted they would host the CCG but they have earned it and to have a championship that does not have a condescending asterisk by it will require them to granted the waiver. If they defeat us again, they would deserve the chance at NY6 game. Even defeating them does not give us the inside track but it does give hope of chaos ensues for a few teams. All in all I hope JMU has a chance because they are a good team and so are we.

Trying not to look too far ahead but Troy is offering ticket specials ahead of the home game with Louisiana. $10 general admission tickets and kids under 12 get in free with an adult.

Coastal. JMU knows the rules, we sat out when we came up. There will be no asterisk by OUR 8th conference title. We sat out because we weren't eligibile. I'm all about the rules but theres a big difference
