USA Today list of coach salaries came out today. Figured it was relevant as we are in the search for a new head man. You can see where we stack up.

In all seriousness. I think mike Dean would be an excellent defensive position coach. I wish he had come to Troy after leaving CHHS. Obviosuly based on his quotes in the paper. That was not gonna happen Let the man live in Montgomery and let him drive in every day, coach football and go home. If he doesn't have to interact with the "cliq-ish" townsfolk, then he should do just fine. Mike would be a fine DC in The Dream's humble, yet correct, opinion.

Below is a sure fire way to turn things around in less than 2 years. I provided the blueprint of how to achieve and examples of how to meet said criteria.
You wanna win? Here is how you do it....
1. Hire solid head coach and staff. Solution: Get patrons to drink more beer, so revenues go up. 2. Improve facilities Solution: Get patrons to drink more beer, so revenues go up. 3. Bring in recruits that make a difference Solution: Get patrons to drink more beer, so coach salaries will go up and will be willing to go out and find the players we want/need. 4. Keep John Hartwell Solution: Get patrons to drink more beer, so his salary can increase. 5. Wait until basketba..., or baseba..., or softba...Damn. Just hope things get better. Solution: Get patrons to drink more beer and forget about the problems at hand until they are fixed.

Press cons are done on Monday, which is traditionally an off day for the team. Stadom and Worthy were both in the post-game interview following their big days on Saturday. If they were not requested by media members, then they would't have been asked to show up. The only person that I have seen interviewed every single week is LB.

Is that former AU bench warmer Jim Bob Striplin? The guy that led New Brockton to a boisterous 31-33 record in six years at the helm.
He had HC experience and he went to Auburn (where they invented football). He is an assistant at Geneva right now, I bet he would jump at 505K a year.
HIRE HIM NOW!!!

1. Bud Kilmer - A legend in the Texas high school ranks that has won over 15 district titles and two state championships. Is a no-nonsence guy and hates to lose. 2. Tony D'Amato - One of the greatest to ever walk a sideline, and still has some ball left in him. He also is capable of delivering one of the best halftime speeches in the history of the spoken word. 3. Eric Taylor - A young, energetic high school coach from the Lone Star state. He has won multiple state titles, and rebuilt East Dillon high school from nothing to state champs in less than three years.

Dean is a proven winner and a dang fine ball coach. He is a defensive genius and would be an immediate help to the defense. Dean wouldn't have to live in Troy per say. Let him live in Montgomery if he wants to, and just commute in every day (ya know, kind of like our dear leader does.) He can come in, coach football and go home. He doesn't have to rub elbows with everyone that thinks they are important.
Dubose know offense. His teams score points. His teams win. Enough said.

I wonder if an indoor practice facility would have a greater impact on recruiting than the end zone facility? Before the Duke game, they had to practice in the armory. I have always wondered why the 4A high school across the street has an indoor facility and the FBS university doesn't?

We lost arguably the best O-line coach in the country, and replaced him with perhaps the worst.
That is what is wrong with the big fellas. Clear and simple.

So what will Hartwell do on this show? I think he will avoid football and talk about soccer, volleyball, or any other sport. I doubt there will be any phone calls allowed. I bet he is on full communist lock down by Dear Leader. Hartwell has never backed down from talking about a topic. I'm sure he will talk football.

Silvers does seem to hold the ball longer than he should at times. Over time, C-Rob developed the internal clock to throw the ball away. Silvers has yet to get that locked down. It will come with time, but it will take some time.

Hate away. You don't know me. I think the uniformed speculation you post is a poor reflection. I'm not here for your comfort or enjoyment. No hate for you, the picture only. A picture is worth a thousand words. It does speak volumes about your character whether you think so or not. Just feel sorry for you. Preacher, i will never claim to know more about the good Lord than you. But it just seems like a lot of posts on this board, including some of yours, are casting judgment on folks. I may be mistaken, but that's a no-no right? (there is no sarcasm in this post at all, just an honest question)

Ok, challenging people to a fight on a message board. You're cool. Failed reading comprehension I see. Somehow I'm not shocked. Next time I will dumb it down for you. Sorry. Actually referencing this post on Saturday. Careful Hemi, you might get a mean-spirited DM from someone. It seems to be a lot of these folks dish out nonsense much better than they can take it.

I have zero doubt that those discussions started a few weeks back. I'm confident that certain decisions have been made and agreements are in place. Now it's just a question of timing to make it all public. Hey, take that unspent money, raise coaches salaries then fund the end zone facility. There, all our problems solved! Next challenge?:-) oh, you have to watch for s while to hear the Troy University reference! Scantily clad women and multiple obscenities in that video...MODS BAN HIM NOW!

I just like looking forward and being progressive. I grow tired of folks that think "Well, we won some games back in the day doing it X way, so lets do that again." Football and college is different than it was when you fellas were enrolled. The athlete is different. The times are different. The tactics that yall saw as effective may or may not click with this generation of ball players. While some players react well to yelling, screaming, cussing, stricter rules and other "older" ways of doing things, others will tune the coach our entirely. Some players have to be taken to the side and talked to in a calm manner. I trust the coaches know which guys respond to which style. I may be younger than you fellas, but please realize that I am not an idiot when it comes to football. Thanks, and good day. After reading your thoughts there is a tone of anger, arrogance and disrespect which means you will never understand the points we are making about class. Your thoughts are as welcomed and needed as others here because that is what makes a board like this but leave the vulgar, disrespectful spew of Venom somewhere else. There are ladies and children on this board I assume and it should be dealt with that way! Oh,, I doubt your last paragraph. I'm sure you are a legion in your own mind! Vulgar? Venom? The dream is so very confused.

Times have changed. Trust me you don't have to explain that to our older generation. If you would be open minded and understanding you would be surprised at how much they are willing to help things progress. You probably aren't an idiot but your remarks sure made you sound like one and that is all we have to go by. And yes I am in my thirties but understand although I don't see things the same way I can learn value experience. Be Open minded? There sure is quite a bit the "older generation" isn't very open minded about concerning this football team. But if if it won an NAIA national title in 1967 then it is gurantee to work nowadays right?

Urine doesn't go well with cornflakes, sir. Try 2% milk instead. I think it will suit your taste palette a little better. No class! Sir, that response is an embarrassment.
I hope Redwaver doesn't acknowledge your ignorance.
No class and discipline.. Guess it was a given with my shaggy haired, beard-having, non-matching wardrobe, helmet-less warming up, rap music loving self.
