I have been to all the bowl games and here are my picks:
2006 – NO Bowl. Not our first bowl game under Blakeney but the one that was part of the start to where we are today (I know this season was off but I do believe we are still a respected program.) After the win over Rice as we were walking back to our hotels – you would hear “T-R” and other fans would chime in with “O-J”. As a hometown Trojan I pride myself on knowing lots of Troy fans. I saw a lot of people I didn’t know that weekend and realized that the Trojan Nation was bigger and stronger than I knew.
2016 – Dollar General Bowl - Neal Brown “Troy’s Back!” Most of my family was at that Game and it was a whole bunch of fun.
2017 – NO Bowl - What a season!!! That trip was just one of those “it’s all good” times. And yelling “We just beat LSU” in Pat O’Brien’s was a personal moment. The Sound of the South had a momentous half-time show. Watching players, band members and other students graduate there was really special too.
2008 – NO Bowl – although we didn’t win this one, the Trojan Walk through the hotel will be one of “those” moment. The lobby was completely full and really loud. I looked around and grown men had tears in their eyes. The Trojan Nation just kept growing.
2018 – Dollar General Bowl – We were becoming very spoiled with our post-season appearances. Family always plays a part in my trips and this one was special – we didn’t leave until after my niece had graduated and gotten engaged that Friday!
2010 – NO Bowl – Larry and the Trojans’ got their second bowl game win.
2009 – GMAC Bowl – Hell froze over and we lost.
2004 – Silicon Valley Bowl – it was the first Bowl Game and a wonderful trip but the stadium was a hole, the lights went out, it rained the whole game and we lost.

This has been heartbreaking for the City of Troy - he played at Charles Henderson as well as TROY. A wonderful young man with a generous heart from all accounts.

On the seat issue -two seats in front of ours had no seats and two others were about to go. I think we didn’t notice some of these things when we were winning. The baseball stand are do faded they are beyond pink, same for the non-press box side if the field. And it needs a good pressure washing. The purse strings have been tightened for so many things not international.

On a serious note, if a player especially one who has yet to play, enters the portal, I believe he needs to reimburse the University that took a chance on him. After all, we paid his tuition, fed him, clothed him and he can just leave for any reason he chooses. AND, is there a portal for others sports? No? Someone should sue, call the Title IX police.

Iâve been with my current employer 24+ years and in the same department for 14+. When we hire someone new here, they arenât paid the same thing I am. Iâve earned raises over the years and the new guys havenât. That doesnât mean my hospitalâs admins go cheap on the new hires, it means one has to earn his keep. In much the same way, CNB had earned a higher payday and CCL hadnât (and I say he still hasnât). That doesnât mean AD Fill in the Blank or Dear Leader went cheap. You using common sense and logic will blow that guys mind. Year One Neal was hired at $700,000.00 and progressed from there. Year One (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) was hired at $600,000.00.

Do the tie breakers only apply in regards to New Orleans? Once you are past the championship game - if you're bowl eligible does it then matter who beat who?

I know it would be great for the conference to have two ranked teams and a representative in a NY6 game but I want to spoil it all!

For either Auburn or Alabama If they win - they were always supposed to win. If they win by a close margin - it's troublesome. If they lose to Troy - it's apocalyptic.

Every contest I've seen them at this year they've brought the house down, and that includes going on after UNA. Remember the 2000 Gladiator show that got nearly every kid in the wiregrass excited about the SOTS? Yeah, the stadium club folks didn't like that either. They're gonna play stuff we don't like and they're gonna play stylistically different than what we may like (and I'm just as guilty as complaining about how the tubas play), but that doesn't mean they aren't reaching an audience somewhere. Understand that they have to play to today's kids in order to recruit for tomorrow, and a lot of stuff kids like we old folk don't. Also, there's this company called Tresona that will sue on a heartbeat if we don't pay them performance rights to the tune of several thousand dollars a year. That's why stand tunes don't change out as much - because each new song we play every year has to have performance rights secured or we will get our butts sued off. Somewhere around 2013 or 14 that company threatened fines exceeding $100K if we didn't either pull half our tunes or pay several grand for future performance rights. And yes, because the school gets money for football games, its considered performance for profit. Again, the person to bring your concerns with the band to is Dr. Walker. He'll be glad to talk. And Kerry needs to stay in the Education department. It needs stability in leadership, something it hasn't had in over ten years because every time someone is successful at Dean or Assistant Dean there they get pulled over to another department. But that's another rant. I personally loved the Gladiator show (some of it was from a drum corps I was in)! As I said, use some of that (we already own it) as stand tunes especially on defensive achievements. Whipping Post was awesome and brought the house all the way down, especially at UAB. Goal line to goal line company front and loud as heck! If the kids get into it so will the fans - not just students. I'll give myself away with this one - but play Vehicle again. It's old but rocks. Krypton Fanfare used to be played at the end of each game we won. All charts we already have. We have a great drumline - use them more!

Oooh you better run and hide if you say anything about The Sound. I’ve been thinking the same as you. I think it’s not their fault. They rarely get an opportunity to put on a full show. Halftime is usually band day or Veterans Day or alumni day. We should honor those groups differently and get the band out there putting on a show. I do agree about not having the time to perform a full halftime show. But in the stands - it's the same thing year in and year out. There are our traditional cheers that definitely belong. But play Seven Nation Army, play more of the gladiator tune from years ago - it fits in with our warrior theme, something current students and more importantly - players would like. I'd love to see the band play a tune picked by the players each year. We don't play "Are you from Dixie" in pre-game anymore. And why would a kid who is not a music major choose to be in the band, practice 8+ hours a week, all day Saturday on game day, if he/she doesn't get to even perform the full show or go to an away game at least once year? AND the new uniforms were put on hold.

My frustrations are numerous so I'll just lay it out here:
1. Administration (not athletic) - no one from Administration (that I am aware of) was at the game on Saturday. Maybe if they had been they would have seen this embarrassment and felt compelled to speak to our AD. 2. Administration (Athletic) - Brent Jones is AD and I like him quite a lot, but he needs to hire the person to replace him or Kyle if Kyle took his old position. He needs to be focused on the football issue. 3. Coaching staff - I have been on the (The HC we don’t speak of) Ship but my faith has wavered. But the assistant coaches need to grow up - they are too young for the most part. Did (The HC we don’t speak of) have time and/or money to hire who he really wanted? I don't know the answer but this issue needs to be addressed soon. 4. Players - I will not call out names but on Saturday night, for the first time, I was less than proud of how they acted on the sidelines. During a time out in the second half a number of players spent that time watching the Georgia State dance team - not engaging with their team mates, or supporting them in any way. This also goes back to coaching as well as team leadership. I find it hard to believe that all they learned under previous coaches has gone out the window. Zero energy in this game. 5. SOTS - I am a former member and for a couple of years I have felt that the band was going through the motions - no new stand tunes, no excitement. Part of this may be attributed to a reduced lack of financial support by the Administration. The full band is not going to a single away game this year. 6. Cheerleaders - poorly named. Very few cheers led. At one point the coaches on the sideline were yelling "Defense, defense" not the cheerleaders. 7. No shakers - we have not handed out shakers in over a year. I need the skinny cardinal ones on a stick! (See Penn State white out or the Auburn student section for reference). And, I need a lot of them.
As frustrated as I am - I will be at any game I am able to get to. I will cheer the entire game. I will not revoke my financial support. I still have hope for 6 wins and the Camellia Bowl.

Not really a tradition or a logo but I would love it on a shirt, is a quote from Dr. Long - "Look up band. It's fall and the moon has turned into a football."

And, there is no Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny was run over on the Butter and Egg Road, and the Tooth Fairy flew off to Neverland with TinkerBell. Have hope Troy Fans! What if we all show up tomorrow night and ENCOURAGE other fans to show up? Do you know any students? Ask them to show up and bring 10 friends. So what if it is a work night? Just play hurt on Thursday. Do what it takes. Why should we ask more of the players and coaches than we do of ourselves? We have to show up and show out. Be Loud. Be Proud. Wear Cardinal.

(The HC we don’t speak of) was hired making about 100 grand less than NB made when he was hired. (The HC we don’t speak of) also has a smaller budget for staff.

The "delivery kid" was on the sideline with crutches at the end of the Mizzou game. We are down to two running backs.

I just spoke with someone in Athletics Administration about tickets and was told that there are at least 12 players who are injured and JDF is out for another few weeks. Again - this is not from Football or training staff.

Took basically no responsibility for a lousy scheme. Blamed the players. No adjustments by the coach sets the players up for failure In what way did he blame the players?
Also, I believe that you have a new HC and a new DC who are also finding their way around being in front of a microphone. There is a skill to that if you are not used to it.

And, Oh my goodness, did it with the plays (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) was calling. What will people complain about now? FYI - I'm on the (The HC we don’t speak of) Ship. When he leaves I'll be on whatever train comes through Troy, because unless we join the Power 5, Troy will be a place where young coaches, new-to-head coaching coaches, didn't make as a head coach and is once again a coordinator coaches, will come to coach.

For those in the Troy area the yard signs will be delivered on Tuesday based on what we heard at Football 101.
