So what are you going to spend your 2020 Troy money on? I'm thinking either a nice watch or upgrade the family vacation. What's your plan?
Oh and for those of you who say I'm still spending my Troy money on Troy. I got a deal for you! You pay me half of what you would have paid to attend Troy games and I will kick you square in the #$%@. You'll get the same enjoyment.

Troy football/basketball/baseball. I’ll go to volleyball and softball for free. Win or lose, I’m a Trojan. They go 0-12, I’ll still be there yelling at the officials and cheering on the players.

If winning don’t matter, then why be D1? We could save a bunch of money if we just played intramural. We could get volunteer coaches and not have to give out any scholarships. I mean if you will be there no matter what then it doesn’t matter.

I’ll spend my money with exact same folks that I have for many years. I showed up in 89 and played 5 seasons. 2 losing seasons; 1 .500; and 2 winning. Believe it or not... folks actually showed up. Someone actually funded my education. Even during those losing seasons. People cheered us kids on and put me where I am today - a leader in my home, organization, and community.
I respect anyone’s opinion to spend their money their way. However, since people are effectively “marketing” (since this concept of not spending money has been mentioned many times this year)... I’ll market this way. I wish we would spend our energy and efforts encouraging others.
Now... now... when things are tough... is when the ATHLETES (since people seem to dislike me calling 19-23 yos kids - which they are, but I’ll concede) need us most. Not when things are fine. They need the fans and the investments the most when stuff is tough. So, I’d ask for folks to reconsider the decision to discontinue investing in the Athletes. Most of the investments are NOT in the coaching staff... and even those investments flow down to teaching the athletes in teaching life lessons, even when the product on the field is lacking - which it is.
So, chose wisely, I don’t think the coffers closing up makes things better immediately, but they can hurt us long-term. Please consider the investment as one in the kids.
As a recipient of an education in a similar environment, YOU can still choose to make a positive difference in the ATHLETES’ lives by continued support.
Wish all of you well... see you on what I hope for a Black Friday for App State...
I’ll also be there next season - God-willin...GO TROJANS!!

I live in Troy, work in Troy and raise a family in Troy. Going to these games is what we enjoy doing. My kids have made relationships with these athletes and even coaches. So no, it’s not about winning for me. It’s about the connection I have with this university.

I will do what I have been doing. At this point I am going to focus only on the positive for this Thanksgiving week. Thank you seniors (and others) you guys have brought a great deal of joy over the past few years. If you go out and shock everyone this Friday GREAT! However, if it goes another way. I say THANK YOU OVER AND OVER!!!

How do you make the distinction? not sure if you were asking me or Hemi. For me, I remember working out butts off and still having poor results on the field. We worked just as hard the first 3 years as the last two - where we moved to 1-AA & went 10-1, 12-1-1. So for me, it’s focusing on the Athletes & program... not the results. It’s not easy, because I like 10 wins seasons also... but it’s what gets me thru and keeps me cheering. The Lord has a better day planned for the program... I do trust that.

Since 1995, my wife and I have made the decision to support TROY Football by purchasing season tickets. For the last 2 years, we expanded that support by buying basketball season tickets as well. Think of all that has occurred in those 25 years - great seasons, great wins, exciting road trips as well as junk years, heartbreaking losses, anger at coaches/staff that would allow these to happen. The only time I've considered not renewing my tickets was about 5 years ago as we made some spending adjustments to accomplish some goals related to charitable giving. My wife talked me off the ledge and convinced me we could accomplish our goals while still supporting TROY.
How will I spend my money next year? I will be in TROY watching the TROJANS fight to regain the dominance we've enjoyed in the recent past. I'll keep my giving level at least at the level it is currently. Win, lose, or draw I'll enjoy the company of friends whom I would not have known without TROY football. I will enjoy quality time with my wife away from the hustle and bustle of routine life (which benefits us both), and I will scream until I can't talk (like I did two weeks ago). Does winning matter? ABSOLUTELY!! If we lose, I'll be mad and will be wanting to know why, but I will be there, none the less.
The question was posed, How will we spend our money? There you have it. If the Lord allows me health, life, and prosperity, this is how I will spend my entertainment money next year, and the next, and the next.....

Tell the AD were you want it to go, each sport has a general fund, that the coach has discretion to use for, equipment, meals, uniforms, staff needs, pens, pencils, etc...

So you want everyone to quit donating and stop spending money buying tickets, gear, so basically not going to games ? Abandoning the program. That has got to be the dumbest thing on this board. How would that make it better ? What would the players take from this slap in the face ?

Again, (The HC we don’t speak of) was nobodyâs first, second or third choice (not even AD whatâs his name). Saturdayâs game was brutal. Some changes have to be made. It would be insanity to continue doing the same thing over and over.
My blood is Trojan blood, letâs rally and beat the Mountain folk. This week will show us a lot in (The HC we don’t speak of) make up. Do we fight or do we give up ? Letâs continue to support the boys and program !

I'm going to spend my 2020 Troy money on Troy. Its a terrible on the field product right now, but Troy football offers more than just the game. Tailgating and being around long time friends is enough to get me through bad times on the field.
Always, go Troy.

Season ticket sales prior to this season were among the highest ever. If everybody just continues to purchase at this level even though we fielded one of the worst teams in school history, there is no motivation to change anything. Think of your age and then think of how many seasons you have left where you can travel to Troy and tailgate. Can you waste a decade of time, money, and tears? What does a losing football team do to enrollment? The only way the administration will spend the money to win is if they only earn money when we win. That being said... If the administration steps up and cleans house, I'm back in and will probably step it up a little. If not, then I'll just watch from home until a change is made. If you don't practice a little tough love every now and then you end up with Democrats.
