I have always been invested with coaches and players, but not over being invested in my TEAM. Coaches and players have always come and gone (it’s just a lot quicker these days). Troy is still here. I’m still here. And on football Saturdays in Troy I’ll be where I always am. With family and friends tailgating and getting ready to cheer on the Trojans. We’ll plan road trips and watch parties, buy new gear, I’ll even buy the Gerad Parker button and Lord willing, when he wins a certain number of games and moves on I’ll retire his button to my former head coach collection. I don’t like all these changes either but at the end of the day, I’m a Trojan.

My thoughts - I have been in fundraising, at one point at Troy (State) University. Athletics seems to focus on larger donors - paying for trips, meals etc. These individuals are generous and kind and can afford to travel on their own most times. Saying "Thank you" is an important part of developing relationships. For the last three years, I have been consistently giving to baseball in honor of my Dad (One of the First Base Mafia). To this day, ADBJ has not acknowledged this. It's not much in the grand scheme but tops $5K. I don't do this for any one person but for Troy and will continue to give no matter who is in charge, but hearing "Thank you" is important. Successful fundraising campaigns need a plan that includes all donor levels - so much $$ come from X number of donors with a large base of donors who can afford to give some (Clemson's IPTAY). This insures if your larger donors leave you are not left empty handed. This should also apply to the overall fundraising effort for the University. I think Gary Wilbert does a great job but he is one person. It goes back to the "we do more with less" mantra that I am tired of hearing.

I heard Wednesday which is insane! Three things. A. How good is your source? 2. Wednesday the 19th might be just in time for new guy to call recruits. Source - pretty good - in but not insider trading in. Wednesday is the 20th.

I think in the world of college football if you get asked to interview with an athletic Director you take that interview. You want to build those relationships because you never know where an athletic Director might end up. Jon’s got that relationship with Chris Lewis and we all see what happened with that. Jon’s a great relationship builder the athletic Director at Tulane may end up at an SEC school and he’s already built that relationship. I’m thinking this is just an interview and nothing more. Interesting concept. Never heard of sitting head coaches going on interviews to “relationship build” for their future. And their bosses be ok with the practice. College football still has an employer-employee relationship. It’s the same in the non college football world. Go with the most logical explanation: he wants the job, he went and interviewed for it. This may work both ways - the sitting Athletic Director may one day interview for a job where that former coach is.

My concern is that the money in question will not just affect him but any of the coordinators and coaches who go with him. More for them and their families. He won’t just be thinking of his family.

saw Frisco vs SMU as possibility. Yep, real travel and less folks going. That game is a Tuesday at 8 Central. That means out of work minimal 1/2 Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday on a work week. Going to be difficult for lots of folks and if against SMU that is home game for them. Hoping for somewhere else than that. I have to have surgery on the 19th and I've never missed a bowl game. Id' hate to cancel that surgery.

This opening scares me. I feel like Jon would have success there. Think about Mullen…8 wins a year and they are happy. But Coach Sumrall will not be happy with 8 wins a year.

Only good thing is Napier and Neal have struggled with the move from the Sun Belt. Yes, Drink has a great year at Mizzou but the others might sour. Not a good move for JS other than money. SEC west is brutal with Bama, A&M, Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn, LSU and Texas and OK coming Isn't the SEC moving away from divisions? Still rotating between all those teams will not be easy.

You are not wrong. The minute the season started this should have been over. If they truly cared about their athletes and their they would have been fighting all summer so that this would be a non-issue come September. No matter what their record would be. Thirteen other teams have been operating under the assumption that JUM was ineligible. Also, at the beginning of the season, bids were sent out on behalf of the conference to hotels in every Sun Belt market reserving rooms in the event that any given Sun Belt team could have played host to the Championship. If JMU was ineligible at that time, I would wager that they were not included in this. It could be a hardship on the West representative should they have less than stellar accommodations or are more than one hour away. I'm personally not familiar with Harrisonburgville.
Additionally, what about those teams in the East who, until a week or so ago, were still under the assumption they had a shot at the Championship game. What about those athletes?

This game will happen - just not in Troy. The promoters of the Camellia Bowl will jump at the first chance to have a Troy - JSU game.

At Football 101 I asked who the new "KJ" would be and was told they will be using multiple players this year. I felt the video was a little disjointed - no connection between Demarcus/past and Javon/future.

Wow, just received my paper season tickets, but that is just part of the package. It is a bound booklet with all the information you would need to know about home and away games, stadium policies, and a 20% discount coupon for Barnes and Noble. Well done Troy Athletics! What kind of tickets do you have? Stadium Club, end zone, reserved? I have Stadium Club and all I got was a manilla envelope with the plastic tickets.

I maybe the only dumb arse who missed the notice or who knows? I went to the garbage and looked up the white sleeve packaging that the ticket booklet came in to look for my parking pass. So, I called. The polite young man at the office (must have dealt with other partially senile folks before) stated that the white envelope that they were mailed us was from the printer and the passes are being sent separately by the department most likely this week. So, just in case anyone else has this thought fleeting, floating or just bouncing around in their head one day now or soon. This is what the deal is about the parking passes.
