I haven't had a chance to say anything about it since I've been out of commission since Friday night (after shattering my ankle), but that was a MONSTEROUS win for Troy. Probably even bigger loss for LSU but man that was big and really puts the national spotlight on the Trojans. If they can continue this momentum for the remainder of the season and win out they could end up in a really big bowl game. Could end up being a truly special season. Hoping I can get to the point where I can cover the Battle of the Belt but its not looking likely.

Legassey has a big leg from what I've seen in practice. I think the biggest thing was the missed PATs. That really could have come back to bite them last week. They just need to let him connect on a couple of easy ones, get settled in and comfortable. Look at Alabama's kicking scenario. Every Alabama fan in the state's butthole puckered when a field goal attempt would come to start the season. Then he hit a couple of shorter ones and suddenly started hitting 40+ field goals and hasn't missed one since the first game I think. Alot of it is just being comfortable and getting into a rhythm for these kickers.

Have y'all watched this team this year? I need a 6 pack of what y'all are drinking. LSU will blow us out of the water. Outside of depth, please show me one thing that you've seen from LSU that could possibly suggest that?

I think Troy will definitely hang with them, they've hung with them into the fourth quarter when LSU was actually pretty good. I just think Death Valley and depth come into play here.
LSU: 24 Troy: 20

CNB addressed JD-F in today's press conference. He said he was vital in preparing for the NM State game, he played the part of Lamb for the scout team. CNB also said he isn't 100% and that he tried to give it go in either the first or second game (I can't remember which he said) but wasn't up to speed. If my memory is correct, I saw him on the field for one play in the Boise game. I hope this won't impact his ability to redshirt in the event he's not soon ready for action. Pretty sure a player has to have a significantly more amount of pt to not be awarded a redshirt. The minute you play one snap you can't get a standard redshirt. A medical redshirt is a different thing, though. I think it's something like 30% of the snaps during the season.

My only complaint was the wait time for concessions and that they ran out of a number of items after halftime. Looks like they got caught off guard with the numbers. Concessions right inside the front gate were out of everything but drinks and popcorn before halftime! They were SO not prepared. Thank goodness for the pizza stands, or I would've been a hungry Trojan. lol SaveSeeing those lines at the concessions during halftime was something else.

Are you sure he did not throw it on the last play of the first half saturday? His visor flew off somehow during that (well deserved) tirade. If it didn't come off there, it sure got close. NB was HOT after that ordeal.

^^ He said it and it's pretty cool to see them at work and if you've ever had to keep stats at a game you truly respect what they do and how difficult it is. Especially as accurate as they are.

Well, I will def. give you credit for owning up to the 75% deal but honestly had you not done that bit of hyperbole no one would have even batted an eye. People just took it as you throwing shots at Troy and just being flat out wrong. Had said something along the lines of "The Vet is packed but the MSU crowd from a few years ago still looked a bit bigger to me," no one likely would have had a problem. I love newspaper reporters, they all have this pipe dream about being the next Bob Woodward but can't get the facts straight on the small issues. Come on man, that's not necessary at all. Maybe it's just my generation, but I don't understand the attitude and philosophy that says tear an institution (In this case Troy Football) down so I get noticed. Why not say the Vet was packed Saturday with many fans standing in the concession area. We appreciate all those that attended and we hope to see a sellout crowd this season. That's not just the Trop it's newspaper reporters in general. They are starved for attention. Here's what they do: They write something contrary to popular opinion under the guise of "telling the other side of the story". Then they become elated at all the attention it garners in the reader comment section, letters to the editor, etc... the reporters get off on the fact you are talking about them and their work. But if you ever come back at them with facts (those pesky little things)they get all defensive because they seem to forget Freedom of Speech is a two-way street. Look, I get that in this day and age the cool thing is to just rip anyone that works in any sort of news related media and call them "fake news" and everything else but the LARGE majority of us are just trying to do our jobs, and have no desire to "look for attention" or misrepresent facts. Every single reporter or writer has gotten something wrong, no one is infallible. The big thing is owning up to being wrong and correcting it, which I believe the majority of reporters do or try to do. Now, opinion is a different matter. You can't be wrong about an opinion, because it's an opinion. You do, though, have the right to disagree with an opinion.

Well, I had zero cell service in the stadium today...I couldn't listen to Barry! Oh, the horror! Where's the humanity! Okay, but I was upset, though. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for saying that!!!!!!!!! D--- it, ill vent! Sorry, I do try to keep my comments positive or at least Civil about most subjects but I've got TWO issues I just don't get. Number 1, why in the heck can't Troy get cell/internet service in the stadium? I go to other stadiums and have ZERO problems! My son in law does exactly that as a profession. He puts technology companies with businesses and universities that can upgrade their public media services including in stadium cell and internet service. I could care less who handles fixing it but two years ago he told Troy he could often get it done FREE to the universities. He's done a lot including Doak Campbell at FSU. As a favor I asked him to offer his services to Troy athletics over two years ago when John was AD which he did. He called, left messages explaining what he could offer and NEVER EVER even got a return call. A LOT of folks needed to access internet in the stadium last night to check weather in Florida to check on loved ones. IT WAS IMPORTANT. I heard tons of complaints! You can't get scores or anything at other times but this weekend was a special needs time. That's ridiculous! Why would we not even express a tad of interest if it wasn't going to cost anything? Number 2, stadium food! OMG, the wife wanted a hotdog last night (and I do try to keep her happy) and I wanted a chili dog. You can't believe what they handed us. She was shocked when she opened hers. There was no condiments anywhere near by to be found she looked for them (sweet gal, she went for food while I watched the game). They must have prepared them Saturday morning. The buns were so moist/wet that they had shrunk to nothing and stuck to the wieners and they put two small spoons of chili on my chili dog and rolled it back up in the same tinfoil wrapper, not in a paper container with ample chili and no spoon. Have these folks EVER eaten a chili dog? Chili digs need to be in a cardboard bowl or the like with ample chili. The extra dollar in price of a dog warrants more than two skimpy spoonfulls of chili to run everywhere in tinfoil when you open it. GEEZ! When I opened it the chili went everywhere other than where it was suppose to go. Awful but hey, those two dogs only cost us $9.00 so why complain! If it's Sedexo I get it, I have had management experience with that bunch before I retired. We ought to DEMAND better for our fans dang it, the prices are far above the quality. It's time for someone at the university to step up and say enough is enough. Fan experience is a huge part and the food part at Troy stinks! Heck, hire Hemi, that guy can cook hotdogs and they are fine! I'm through, have at me for negativity! New AD, I would suggest your son make that offer again. It is def. much needed.

It was def. less than 75% (probably less than 50%) when it was announced but yeah it was pretty packed before people started leaving late. I'm not sure which reporter you're talking about but I sat next to a kid from the Trop in the press box and he seemed like a pretty good kid. Let's not jump on him too bad here. I def. didn't hear anything negative from him throughout the game.
*EDIT* Thats not even the Trop reporter that I sat next to. Don't even know if that kid was at the game. He certainly wasn't covering it.

Actually, both are wrong. Burks was the eighth player to do it, Chunn would have been ninth. 1) Ted Horstead: 1,123 yards (1984) *shout out for the Elba native there* 2) Eddie Coleman: 1,044 yards (1992) 3) Arrid Gregory: 1,337 yards (1996) *school record* 4) DeWhitt Betterson: 1,161 yards (2003) 5) DeWhitt Betterson: 1,286 yards (2004) 6) DuJuan Harris: 1,077 yards (2008) 7) Shawn Southward: 1,012 yards (2012) 8) Brandon Burks: 1,005 yards (2015) 9) Jordan Chunn: 1,288 yards (2016) And Ted did it by 3-5 yards at a time as a wishbone fullback. Great guy and one tough player The crazy thing about it all is his son (Todd) was probably better than both Ted and Don. He rushed for over 1,000 yards at Elba as a FRESHMAN. The rest of us were still playing JV and he was up there running over seniors. He just absolutely hated school and ended up dropping out, I hated it because I think for sure the big schools were going to come calling. My dad worked with Don later on Don's life and he said that he had a lot of knee injuries at Bama so he would kind of limp around everywhere, but then just about every week someone would challenge him to a race and Don would laugh and then proceed to absolutely smoke em no matter who it was.

Betterson topped the 1,000-yard mark twice in his career. ^^^^ saintflorian, missed the wording there.

Possible error? In the CNB write up - right most column at the top it says that Brandon Burks became the 7th player to rush for 1000+ yards. Shouldn't that read Jordan Chunn? Actually, both are wrong. Burks was the eighth player to do it, Chunn would have been ninth. 1) Ted Horstead: 1,123 yards (1984) *shout out for the Elba native there* 2) Eddie Coleman: 1,044 yards (1992) 3) Arrid Gregory: 1,337 yards (1996) *school record* 4) DeWhitt Betterson: 1,161 yards (2003) 5) DeWhitt Betterson: 1,286 yards (2004) 6) DuJuan Harris: 1,077 yards (2008) 7) Shawn Southward: 1,012 yards (2012) 8) Brandon Burks: 1,005 yards (2015) 9) Jordan Chunn: 1,288 yards (2016)

That would mean wins over LSU and Boise State... so a much better chance than Western Michigan whose biggest win was Northwestern... but definitely not likely that it will be an undefeated season in any way, shape, form or fashion... I think it will be very successful, don't get me wrong... but not THAT successful. Here, have this refreshing cup of kool-ade. My job doesn't allow me to drink kool-ade or any team these days lol
