With the way the year went and BS playing better towards the end of the season, do you bring in another juco QB or just ride with Silvers? How much attrition will there be at the position? How much excitement will there be for the offense to air it out some more? I look for them to use Josh Anderson quite a bit more as well...
Let the Trojan Reign begin...
Go Trojans!

Lets not count out DP. If he stays on board, and improves this summer under a new coaching staff, he could be scary good.

Pretty much the response I was looking for... facebookthumbup IMO who throws the ball down the field wins the job. Neal will have a vertical pass game. I also see him recruiting a hs qb, maybe someone on the radar at KY. He will be a coach that will recruit a qb

Excited about this coach because of his attack on offense and feel like he has a great plan for defense to help balance this out. With that being said, with what you stated, I don't see how you cannot stay with BS (not saying I agree with it, just not much more options) . Lots of time invested on him this year. I am not sure how he will do having to adjust to more deep vertical style passing,( but options very limited. DP, was bumped down to 3rd towards the end, not sure why, I would say, we need to make sure we have a capable back up (meaning keep 1/3 from leaving on the current roster) and start grooming the real future starter and I am sure this coach has a few he has to bring already. He may also have one to transfer not just from Juco but willing to sit out a year. Not sure situation at KY and who he recruited but that is a big option and something he could sale with playing very soon after the year sit out and already knows Brown offense. Just my thought and will be interesting to watch this pan out.

Worthy graduated and Holmes played hurt. Johnson and Flakes will flourish in this and quisenberry will be a clutch go to guy. Look for Brown to recruit some great receivers.

He had the same weapons CR had: Worthy, Edenfield, and Holmes. The only real threat missing is ET. The offense just didn't work this year for different reasons, the least of which is talent, IMO. Hate that we're losing Worthy. They'll have weapons in Holmes, Ruben, Bentley, etc. as well as one or two Neal Brown recruited JUCOs if he decides to go that route.

Check out his first year, that is the level comparison field. Not Sr to R-Freshman, not fair.

Agree talent was there this year, in fact the receivers who caught the passes usually came back to the ball. We will just have to agree to disagree for at least one more year, BS is not that good IMO, and far from a Deon, CR, Levi ect. Its what we will have for one more year I assume, but I pray we have a back up ready to go. Especially if he keeps running like he does when he should not.

Amazing, that this board is just lit up with posts now saying we have all this great talent. And we are so excited about keeping the coaches that utterly failed at utilizing them.

I think Neal will be a better judge of qb talent. He will recruit to his system. We were using the camps to much for evaluating. Everyone looks good in shorts a coach of mine once said. Film, film and watching them play in person. Best tools for evaluating IMO

Notice no defensive coaches stayed or the Rb and OL coach. You won't have the same staff. LB retained Turk and Williams from Maddox staff and they were coming off 4-6, 4-6 and 5-5 seasons and both are arguably the best two asst coaches we have had. It took a new direction to bring out the best in them

Not sure where you are getting this, in fact I have several post where I said clean house. Obviously the new Coach chose to retain 3 for whatever reason. I am hoping they will be in a different role totally. We had some talented receivers this year and a good kicker/punter, besides that we need to grow in other areas as the other positions struggled. It will take a couple of good recruiting years to start the fix of program. I think we have several left who have not been given a chance and who knows what a new coach will do. However this thread about QB, and I will stick by what I have said all season: BS not going to get you many wins, but will keep his stats looking ok, DP should have been given a better chance, but something went wrong somewhere and worse towards end of season and he was bumped down the chart, Tidwell, was his to have this year, for whatever reason it did not happen, and may have been one of the biggest tragedy of the last 4 years with his talent, the rest of the QB know very little on, however hoping 1 or 2 choose to stay and not transfer and develop into a great back up, or potential starter for next year if they win it out. Go Trojans!!!

I will just throw this quote out from a player that played the 2010 season. He said if Silvers had the talent around him that Corey had in 10 everyone would be claiming him to be on course to be the greatest Troy quarterback ever. Quarterbacks are only as good or bad as the talent surrounding them.

With a very solid OL, quality Receivers and Backs who each can and will engage and complete their blocking assignments, even someone like, oh I don't know...you could be a serviceable QB.

He was not among the 3 mentioned by CNB as being retained. Based on what I saw earlier today, I'd say golf was the only thing on his agenda.

That has merit but you can have talent and that does not guarantee skills at the QB position just that the skills he has had a better opportunity to be exposed. I'm hoping for great things from Silvers under Brown but he had to recruit those surroundings.

I agree with the upside, but disagree with the weapons. BS didn't start hitting the long ball until later on in the season...there was a concerted effort to run the ball, but it wasn't the System at work. I don't dislike our starter, but my belief is that we need someone to stretch the field and DP threw a better deep ball.

But with the right coaching who knows this Spring. Neal will have his thumb on everything including qbs and OL. I guarantee that the best qb plays, his career is on the line and he's hungry to prove his worth
