One photo above makes it look like they went around the mid-field logo. Are they saving that for something? Stay tuned... Can I buy it for my front lawn?

Not being a jerk when I say this. Have any of you had a conversation with Sumrall before? When they first moved here we were fortunate enough to become friends. The guy can sale ice to an Eskimo, he is 100% all about the players, the program and the community. He signed some of the players on our team now that have done great things. He was a DC at San Diego then Tulane. Came to TROY with Neal and was the assistant head coach, LB and ST coach. Hired to Ole Miss to coach LB’s and sure their defense was terrible. Would you play at Ole Miss knowing you were banned from post season play for a few years? If you’ve not watched “the season” that was on sEC Network where they followed Ole Miss. go check it out and see how he relates to players and handles business. Am I biased? Absolutely but I still believe he is gonna be a great head coach somewhere. Why not here where he knows the program, players and community. There will be some “big name” coaches who apply for this job but I don’t see any advantage of hiring any of them other than the 1 minute of time ESPN will give us on sports center. At the end of the day. I trust Jeremy and know he will make the right decision for TROY. I grew up with the guy and his family. He will recruit class players like neal did. He has positioned himself to be at least interviewed for the job. I actually spoke with him yesterday.

No one will ever force you to go there. You think Auburn or Alabama want to play in the Birmingham Bowl? Auburn played in Birmingham in 2015 and drew the biggest crowd in the bowl's history. The game is what you make it. The destination is what you make it and I am sure if Troy played in Montgomery they would make it special for the players and fans.

Weather looks to be nice. 66 for the high. But that could change as the week moves on but I like it so far. Don't think it will be 12 degrees.

I have seen 3 different bowl projections today that put us in Montgomery against Ohio. I don't mind the location but I'd like to beat down someone else. I also saw UAB filling in at the independence bowl so I don't know how reliable any of these sources are. The only bowl confirmed is Bahamas bowl.

HC - Schlarman OC - Propst DC - Sumrall W's for days. Ummmm, no on Propst. He's a solid high school coach and let's leave it at that.

Neal has also been mentioned for UNC. That door is shut. They are hiring Mack Brown with Chiz as DC. So you are saying that Ho's source on UNC hiring Satterfield is wrong? That can't be. He said his source is solid and I read it on the internet.

I want an at large bid against a power 5 team. There are 6 bowl eligible sunbelt teams for 5 bowls.

It looks like our off week will be week 2 next year. I just looked at all of troy's opponents for next year. Unless the sunbelt can make some scheduling changes for us, all of our opponents have a game scheduled for week 2. Having an off week that early is going to wear on the team in October and November.

Here's my take of the game. Troy is banged up. they scored more points than Texas State and at the end of the day that is all that matters. I believe coach Brown was coaching enough to get out of there with a win knowing his offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders. Troy is 7-0 in conference with the eastern division crown on the line next week in Boone. The football gods got the match up right at the end of the year. I believe Coach Brown will fix the offensive problems this week and go to Boone focused. Win or lose he will have the team ready and let the best team win.

Too many games for troy to have to win to worry about that right now. 1 - 0 tomorrow first.

I will say this. I hope neal does well wherever he ends up. I will pull for his teams. Hes a good guy not just a good football coach. It's College Football, not a good guy contest to me. Depends on who he coaches for and if he's on the other side of the 50 against the Trojans!! There are programs/teams out there I have more disdain for than "like" for a good guy Coach! I agree. As long as he is not at uah or south or coaching against tmtdm I will pull for him.

I agree he is likely to pursue other opportunities, probably sooner rather than later, but I'm not sure the Louisville job will be the one he pursues. Below is my case: 1) The millions and millions to which you refer will be available at a number of locations 2) The ability to compete for the ultimate prize, like those millions, will be available at multiple locations, probably more attractive than Louisville 3) I think Louisville would lean toward Brohn. He's qualified, he's a native son, and he would jump at the chance to come home. While KY is home for CNB, Louisville isn't. It is home for Brohn. As as I wrote earlier, all of this is academic at this time, CNB, his staff, and his team still have 4 games to win. You're as likely to be right as me, so we'll see how things play out. The lure of ones alma mater could lure Brohm but coaching in the Big 10 is more prestigious than the ACC but that is just my opinion You see how well coaching at your alma mater worked for scott frost. Of course he did have the task of playing the trojans.

Finally, after 2 very bad years, under 3 different head coaches, Georgia Southern (The Real GSU) is back in play in the Sun Belt & G5. I’m really surprised With GSUs defense. We were always known for our offense. The defense held off the opponents until the Offense could catch up. 2 games ago GSU’s Offense put up the points that was expected of them. Against Appy the Offense and Defense finally rose up to make a complete game for us. GSU should win the ULM game 35+ to 14. This will lead to a great GSU/Troy show down for the Sun Belt and for a good bowl bid for one of us. Before I make a score prediction for the Troy game, that GSU will win, I want to see a win against ULM and consistently with the GSU’s offense and defense. Erkerk89 or GSUsTALON www.gsufans.com ( “Talon Talk” smack board, or “The Flight Line” for pure football talk) I hope some of your better trash talkers stop by “Talon Talk!” Well Georgia Southern used to be in the title picture. See ya!
