And this was my question at 8:01 am,
"Hmmmm...so what if, a ranked SBC wins the Conf. Game, and gets an invite to a better/$$ bowl....i.e. UCF @ Peach.....Runner up goes? 🤔"

I personally don't like this move. Wasn't impressed at all with the NO bowl experience. Best part was Trojan walk and the game.

I don't like this either. What if there is a top-notch AAC team that winds up in the Cure Bowl in Orlando? I would certainly like to see Troy play a team like Cincinnati, USF, Houston, or Memphis?
Out of the seven bowl games Troy has been to, we've never played an opponent that wasn't in CUSA or the MAC. It gets a little boring playing the Ohio's and the North Texas's of the world...

Too many games for troy to have to win to worry about that right now. 1 - 0 tomorrow first.

On the flip side this is a built in defense against the NOLA bowl taking a 6 win ULL team and one of the top four teams getting stuck with the Arizona Bowl.

Any bowl is better than sitting at home with 8-4 record.
Been there, done that too.

I’m good with this! I think it’s the best of all our tie in bowls. Just need to win out and then we are NOLA bound!

So here it is. We are a tiny little school in a conference none of the bandwagon fans take seriously. Most of our games are shot on a cell phone from 2005 and available only to those who subscribe to Ukrainian water polo. So you’re telling me we can get an automatic bid to a bowl game in a major city and all we have to do is kick the crap out of teams we don’t like anyway? I’m in. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't this always been the bowl the conference champ is supposed to go to? However in 2009 we turned it down to go to the GMAC Bowl. If the conference champ has to accept this game every year then it sucks. New Orleans gets worse every trip. It would be nice to have options

I think people also assumed first pick meant conference champ, even though Mobile has always seemed more interested than NOLA in the champion aspect of its teams. Personally I'd like to go to Orlando, just to mix it up and to hopefully play someone from the AAC. UAB in NOLA would be fun, though.

And this was my question at 8:01 am, "Hmmmm...so what if, a ranked SBC wins the Conf. Game, and gets an invite to a better/$$ bowl....i.e. UCF @ Peach.....Runner up goes? 🤔" A near impossible scenario this season. Top G5 team gets one slot in NYD Bowls. This year it's the Fiesta Bowl. If UCF falls, there are about four or five G5 teams ahead of any two-loss Sunbelt team. Again, for the three trillionth time. All other bowl game payouts are based on ticket sales. Period. Just because a bowl payout is listed as $500k doesn't mean you are going to get 500k. Most dont even pay for travel expenses. Factor in band expenses and Dear Leaders travel entourage and we lose money every bowl season. But it generates excitement and ticket sales the next season. 1. Truck Bowl 2. Mickey Mouse Bowl 3. Johnny Williams Bowl 4. Tucson Bowl 5. Freezing in Mobile Bowl

Clark is out of there as soon as possible. The Normal School is a wonderful place to call home for 5 or 6 years. It's family. Birmingham? Not so much.

He actually applied for the job at Troy before Neal was hired... He knows UAsB is a dumpster fire.

That would be a lateral move. we cant go backwards.
