I wonder if they spent those 10 days they had to prepare for USA looking at themselves in the mirror with those new helmets. Now they have some blood stains to go with that pretty head gear where South dirt stomped them in the face Rant over. Time for the next game against another bottom feeder

Troying is definitely worse than Clemsoning. How long will it take to hose the stink off the field?

Things learned tonight: Defense is legit. The Camellia Bowl shouldn't completely suck. Neal won't need to hire a real estate agent at end of season. Can we find a kicker from the women's soccer team? Worked for Texas State in the movies. 😀😀😀 Camelia Bowl? Optimism; I admire that! No matter how misplaced it may be. The LSU victory looks like a fluke now. The Troy team that spat up a fur ball at Boise and skidded past Akron and NMSU looks like reality

Trying to think of something positive about tonight. Oh yeah, I’m not at the stadium watching this shickshow in person

First there was “Clemsoning.” Is this Troy getting “Troyed” or “Troying?”

Ahh.. the memories from the Jacksonville State Prison days. Pure, undisciplined hate. The fans openly expressed their hatred for one another as did the teams and bands as well. I can still remember their band flipping off Troy fans as as beer cans and cups of bourbon rained down on them. No need to renew the rivalry though. We got paroled from the old Gulf South Conference and moved on. They moved up a level but they're still Jax State, and that's never a good thing

To say I'm disappointed in what he did would be a huge understatement. I also apologized to a couple of LSU fans last night leaving the stadium when one of our students started yelling out "F--- you, LSU!" at the top of her lungs. These things happen and I guess it's become a part of sporting events but sometimes uncontrolled exuberance should be quelled a bit. Win cool, lose cool. On the other hand, the LSU fans were top notch. Going into the stadium our group was invited by LSU fans to their tailgates. We and several other Troy fans spent time with a wonderful family of Tiger faithful at their tent and their generosity was fantastic. We learned why LSU fans are among the best at tailgate craft. It was a great win and many of their fans congratulated us outside the stadium afterward. I know it sucks to lose and there's a lot of anger brewing there. As I told one Tiger supporter, they're not the first SEC school to lose to us and they aren't the highest ranked our team has defeated either; but our team expected to win and it wasn't a fluke. 10 years ago Oklahoma State was beaten by Troy and their coach had the famous "I'm a man" melt down. It wasn't just losing to Troy that created that outburst, but how much their program and players were disrespected by the media and others afterward. They've been a pretty tough program since. LSU has the opportunity to do the same and I hope they will

Other than the game, I've already made the mandatory visit to the Cigar Factory on Decatur Street to procure 3 boxes of fine, on site hand rolled cigars!

Ho, I don't know if this post was written before you consumed the cool, refreshing alcohol, to which you so often refer, or if it was written after you had enjoyed your fair share. I do know I like it when your posts are lucid and inspirational. Having lived through many of those years you referenced, having enjoyed those victories you recounted, having endured the disappointments along the way, I can say the effort, the struggle, the determination to succeed, and not the results, was the most important factor in our success.I remember when we transitioned to Div IA, there were several trustees who were not on board. It was a true struggle. The effort by the coaches, administration, and athletes to get us where we are today can't be adequately described. It's now time to take the next step. I don't know if this weekend will be that step, but it should be. It's time and we are ready. That would be Clyde May's...the official cool, refreshing alcohol of the TMTDM Nation and I am only about three fingers into this bottle right now. That could easily change though. Clyde May's... I still have some unopened bottles of original mash of those

I froze my butt off at that game. If we just had something of a running game we could've eaten the clock out and won.

My wife and I leave for New Orleans on Thursday. We decided to take a couple of days extra before going to the game in Baton Rouge. At this point one quarter into the season, I'm not sure what to expect from our guys but I'm sure the LSU fans feel the same way. With that in mind, I'd like to see Troy put all elements of a complete game together and catch the tigers with their knickers around their knees. I'm still a bit pissed about the last time we went to Baton Rouge, built a huge lead, emptied out their stadium while what fans of theirs stayed doing the "Angels in the Outfield" wave and we lost. That was a very cold night. This time, no angels for LSU and the steak at Doris Metropolitan in NOLA will be excellent

From where I was sitting behind the Troy bench, I'd say the reaction of the coaching staff would agree with me

The vast majority of those offensive yards were in the first half. Second half consistency (other than penalties) would have been useful. I agree with you on the officials arm strength; they must have a phenomenal conditioning standard to accurately hurl a flag from 25 yards away. How often did we even have the ball in the second half? Go watch the replay. Bowden almost played the perfect game of keep away.

95 yards in penalties in the first half alone. I'm not sure how many here are cool with handing an opponent practically an entire field length for free in a single half. The play in this game obviously bothered a number of the fans because the stands were heavily evacuated in the second half.

In the past Sodexo personnel wore Troy type jerseys. This time they didn't and I wonder if they still have the vendor contract for concessions or if this was a new one

My only complaint was the wait time for concessions and that they ran out of a number of items after halftime. Looks like they got caught off guard with the numbers.
