2008 Troy collapse at LSU turned upset into infamyKen Rogers krogers@dothaneagle.com 14 hrs ago TROY – Levi Brown knew the questions would come this week. A former Troy University quarterback and now a graduate assistant for the Trojans, Brown has been answering them for nine years now. You know the ones. Questions that start “What happened …?” or “How could …?” They all center on a game that got away, an upset that would have ranked as the biggest in Troy football history. While the Trojans prepare for Saturday night’s game against LSU, their most recent trip to Tiger Stadium – on Nov. 15, 2008 – nearly produced a memory Troy fans would cherish. ... ... ...

Good Lord I hate being reminded of this fiasco. The language I used as I listened to that 4th quartet, I will be asking forgiveness for forever. “Run the dang football, stop throwing it, good grief....run out the clock!”😡

The average fan of an SEC school has no idea the HAVOC that TMTDM can potentially wreck on their team. We don't always succeed in doing that (LSU '08) but for the LSU fans to say this won't be a competitive game shows their lack of knowledge regarding our team. Had it not been for a terrible call on a fumble recovery last year, we beat Clemson. That doesn't even account for the kick return TD that the Clemson runner dropped outside the endzone. Will we win tomorrow? Who knows. If we play to our potential, get a few breaks, and LSU doesn't bring their A game, we very well could. In any case, if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by committing stupid penalties and stupid turnovers, LSU will have had all they want by the time the clock expires and we'll have a chance to pull off the upset of the weekend. We're going into Baton Rouge to win this game and the LSU fans shouldn't discount that determination.

I froze my butt off at that game. If we just had something of a running game we could've eaten the clock out and won.
