From what I’ve witnessed today in Troy is that traffic is going to be bumper to bumper. Unless something changes by tomorrow, McKinley Drive is still closed from George Wallace Drive so access to Trojan Arena is open only from the lagoon to the entrance there.

Only naked and with a cigar **Update** Yesterday Steve Stroud from the athletic department visited our house and hand delivered our season tickets and included some lagniappe with them as well. Very nice touch! His visit was very pleasant and we’re grateful that this matter is now behind us. Our family is happy to be back drinking the Trojan Kool Aide again that I’ve enjoyed since 1966.

Best place to solve a ticket problem is with the ticket office. Airing dirty laundry here is .......... well, not good! Neither is being lied to by the ticket office

Wish they were my missing tickets, but ours were for 4 seats and it was the season ticket package. Right now, we’re assuming that there’s a fairly good chance we won’t have our tickets in time for Boise State so we’re considering making alternate plans for that Saturday. I’ll be a bit more hesitant about going through this a third time with TU.

The athletic department called my wife today about the issue and offered some solutions to the problem and their apologies. Apparently, our tickets went to Birmingham to someone with a similar name. Two years ago they went to someone in Troy also with a similar name. We seem to find ourselves in the midst of an identity crisis with our university. Fair enough. I told my wife we will change the name on the tickets to our company to avoid this yet again. If that doesn’t work it’s back to the U of A alumni association and tickets for the nose bleed sections. Good tailgating and vet groups there, though

Jones Oxygen said: It seems we have an honest mistake made by a real human. I know it stinks and I'm glad it's not my tickets, BUT we are 2 weeks from kick off. You will have your tickets, they are not gonna let me in the gate this week because I already have mine. I think the ticket office (entire athletic dept) has grown leaps and bounds over the last few years. Hopefully a good ole apology will cover their error for you. As for the "lies" could it be they were looking at bad info from their human error? I have no dog in the fight, but this staff has been a pleasure to work wit
An honest mistake can always be understood. When they did it previously it was corrected quickly and it was no big deal. But this was a matter of changing the story repeatedly over days and finally the story changing multiple times in a single phone call before the truth was admitted. The truth would’ve been accepted right away by us and we simply would’ve responded “This is the second year guys, let’s do better” and that would’ve been that. Now I don’t actually believe any explanation at all and am already preparing to spend Saturdays in Tuscaloosa or Auburn for my college football fix if Troy lets me down again

I don’t do many single malts much anymore. I’ve become a blend fan. With a good cigar I’ll go with a MacCallan 12 or 18. With a great cigar I’ll have a Dewars Signature Series if the occasion is right.

We’re on row 16, 18-21. Just a bunch of old military vets with bad bones and good scotch

Close. We’re actually in 110 with 4 tickets. It’s frustrating because this isn’t the first time this has happened but previously it was handled better and truthfully. Had this employee been working for me, I would’ve canned him in an instance for deceiving a client

So we’ve been watching our friends receive their season ticket orders for a couple weeks now, so we thought ours would be arriving soon as well. After all, we live just a few blocks from the stadium and we’ve been season ticket holders for many years. My wife inquired from the ticket office last week and they said we should have them this week. Still no tickets package. My wife inquired again and was told Wednesday at the latest. Then it became Friday. No wait... Monday. Uh, well.... We think maybe Saturday because we actually mailed them somewhere else to someone else and they told us they would bring them this weekend because they plan to come down to fan day.
Competency, basic recognition of names and addresses as well as truthfulness seem to be only the most casual of acquaintances at the university my family has been associated with since 1966. Athletic department ticket sales, learn your job and take a crash course on telling the truth. I can forgive a mistake but for you to lie and then continue to lie to protect your lie repeatedly I won’t forgive

I agree about their QB, he took a beating. He should’ve filed conspiracy to commit murder charges against his O line

I’ve got a lot of special memories of that stadium going back to 1966 when my late dad bought season tickets when he and mom were on the faculty. I don’t think the stadium held but around 3500 seats at most. When I was a student our fraternity seating was on the westside next to the band. I always brought an extra bottle of rum for Fred Mallory and others the brass section. Coolers packed with booze was the norm back then. Different times... I was always fascinated as a kid by the haze of cigar and cigarette smoke that loomed over the stands. The first time I ever went into Memorial Stadium my dad and some of his war buddies stopped by the memorial near the ticket window and it was the only time I ever saw the man shed a tear. As I said, different times.

The current North Texas of CUSA looked no better than the old North Texas of the old SBC days. Probably a mid level Belt team at best. Their fan base at the bowl dressed up like empty seats as well. No real change at all

I imagine UNT is as disappointed in this pairing as we are. Don’t get me wrong, but it seems the AQ conferences are trying to separate themselves as much as possible in post season play from mid majors

I’d love to go back to NOLA again since it was home for a while but my wife will be having surgery at UAB so we’re out. With that said, someone do my hanging out for me at the Cigar Factory of New Orleans on Decatur Street and grab an aged steak at the Doris Metropolitan.

Here’s the ranking I’m most wanting; number 1 in the Sunbelt after next Saturday. We can’t change the outcome of games already played that may make that a multi team tie, but Troy can take care of what happens next week...
Just as easily as Arkansas State can.

We’re getting a couple of extra GA tickets free courtesy of the university. Looks like if you’re a season ticket holder you can get a couple of freebies. Good way to entertain our guests who are coming on for Thanksgiving!
