Is anyone interested in Troy playing in the Cure Bowl in Orlando? Seems like the common favorite here is New Orleans.
The thing is, I'd rather play one of these likely AAC teams (Temple, Navy, SMU, or Houston) instead of some 7-5 CUSA team.
10-2 Sun Belt champ deserves a better matchup than what I think New Orleans Bow or Camellia Bowl will offer.

I am. It's closer, a better place to visit, my inlaws don't live there (bonus points), and CBS does a better bowl than ESPN (though finding the channel is a challenge if you can't go). Also think that any AAC opponent is going to be viewed more favorably than a CUSA or MAC opponent regardless of where any of those teams stand in wins. You can say Toledo is the MAC champ all you want around here, but in south Georgia most people will just shrug. Say AAC and they perk up because they know the teams, at least in name. Saying you beat a MAC team is like saying you beat brownie troop 10. Of course you beat them. They're MAC. (Sunbelt will have the same issue, but you get the point for when people say playing the MAC champ is so wonderful for perception and exposure.)

Regardless of the bowl game, the LSU win got us the most exposure. Im happy we are bowling twice in a row, and conference champions.

I want the bowl game to be fun for all involved. That includes the side trips and freebies for the players. I remember Will Goggans dressed as Santa touring the children's hospital. He was an awesome Santa. Anyway, make it less about exposure and more about the guys having a good time playing a game. If that means the hardest opponent they can get, then try to give that to them. If it's a name AAC opponent and a trip to Universal Studios, it would be nice if they could get that.

How about its always 72 degrees and dry inside the Dome at game time. Could care less who the opponent is. Win and its hard to keep an 11-win team out of the Top 25. An 11-win team with a victory over a Top 25 team.

Georgia St is in the Cure Bowl. I wonder how many parents will show up? For where their program is at (age wise and geographicly), I think they get a decent crowd. It's Orlando on a weekend after a reasonable drive. And they don't have a history with WKU that we do, so not a terribly familiar opponent. Maybe not huge numbers, but good for a young program not spoiled with bowl eligibility. And it's Florida. That's just win. Lol

This should be the #1 or #2 bowl tie in, not Mobile. The players could do Disney and Universal and play in the Citrus Bowl.

Three oranges & stuff at us. Crazy fun atmosphere and great facility. Now, that was 1990 - sooooo not sure what almost 30 years has done to the place.

Played in front of the all time D2 record crowd there in 1988...36,000. Stadium is larger and nicer now. Camping World has the naming rights on it and they installed Field Turf. We beat them there in 1987 to go to the Championship game and they hyped the crap out of it in 1988. We went in #1 and they were #3. They dumped beer on us coming out of the tunnell and we couldn't here Bob Godsey's paly calls in our no huddle wishbone. They were actually penalized for excessive crowd noise, can you believe that
