I wasn't impressed with their fan turnout. I thought they'd have a packed house considering it was a key conference game. There was a larger crowd at D3 Emory and Henry. Their band looked like a small high school band. Georgia, Georgia Tech and the Falcons cast a huge shadow. I wonder how many of their fans will attend a bowl game if they get to one? Nice facility, but the program screams out " commuter school" .

My only complaint about the game was that I kept seeing ads for this delicious looking frozen yogurt on the video boards. I went all over the stadium trying to find it. I asked several employees about the yogurt. No one had a clue about having it there. I am thinking about sending their athletic dept an e-mail about it. Did the soft drinks come in a nice cup? Actually they had cans of coke on the bus

If he leaves we get Steve Campbell for less than we are paying now Why not pay Steve Campbell the million to make sure he stays? He sounds like he deserves the money. CNB may stay a few more years anyway. Brown has roots here. His children were born in Troy if I'm not mistaken. He seems like a fine man and I believe he does care about this University. When he does leave I wish him the best of luck.

Word I got was we were willing to pay Brown $1 million a year to stay. I say get the checkbook out. Maybe that will be enough to keep him 3-4 more years.

That's good news considering GA Southern runs the triple option.

They just fired their coach
Probably bad news for us....ugh
I say we beat them but they cover whatever the spread is.

Until we actually beat them, my respect for them in game week is on in full. A W against Troy would make their season. I think Coach Brown has the mentality of our team fixed from what I saw in Atlanta.

The more wins for LSU, the better for us. Coach O isn't on the hot seat. He can say the Troy loss was a turning point.

Did Georgia Southern get another year of eligibility for Carl Meadows? Now there is a blast from the past. He couldn't even cut it at East Tennessee State. My family has never forgiven Rowell for the Georgia Southern playoff game fiasco. That game is burned in my father's mind trust me

Do you know why he was cut? I thought the Bear had all the heart to play in the NFL and recall very favorable comments about him from Falcon coaches in the AJC. Cornhole, by the way, the Navy Chief friend of mine would be thrilled to talk to him on Facebook. Bear Woods was a cult figure in HSC 25 maintenance on Guam. We talked about his exploits on many occasions. It was great to talk about sports stateside. Just want to say he helped improve our morale over there and he is much appreciated. The Chief is a die hard Georgia Southern fan but thinks he was a fantastic player. He really did want the jersey.

Was talking about him on the alumni bus today. My Dad said he was the best football player he'd ever seen in person. As I remember , he was badly injured in a car wreck that ended his NFL career. Just wondering what happened to him after that?

Have we had a sighting of the Troy Legend here? Never figured out why he was cut from the Falcons. He was very impressive in the preseason. Woods and Boris Lee were a heck of a linebacker tandem back in the day.

Yes I .... I mean he was one of the last "Team leaders" that I can recall.
He is doing very well in Canada . I thought Atlanta shouldn't have cut him. Just my 2 cents. A Navy Buddy of mine , a chief petty officer, heard of the Bear's exploits and was very impressed but also dismayed at the Falcons decision. He was going to order a custom Bear Woods Falcon jersey if things had worked out differently. Just for clarification. I am a veteran of the Navy and Air Force.

We didn't win 52-10 but I'll settle for 34-10 and no attempted cartwheel. We should get by everyone until Ark State. If we play as well as we did this afternoon we have a real shot at winning in Jonesboro as well.

We got to the semis twice should have added at least one more for the video board 1995? Where we lost to GA Southern was a blown opportunity. Rowell went on to make a soup sandwich of our defense. Koenning is doing a fine job now. I saw Simmons in a game at liberty trying to remember the year. Guy I knew in the dorms Antjuan Marsh was a fullback on that team

We are handful of plays away from being 6-0. We are also a handful of plays away from being 1-5. It's all about perspective. Like to put the atomic elbow on Georgia State

As for the coaching staff, I have to say as much as Blakeney did for this program, I don't know if he would have got that W against LSU. Speaking of McKelvin, he was one heck of an athlete but had his problems catching the ball on punt returns. Pretty much think we go somewhere from 9-3 best case to 6-6 worst case. As far as Neal Brown, I think he has really got this program on the right track, but he will be headed up 231 pretty soon for a bigger paycheck. Good luck to him post Troy. I'd rather we get someone with Troy connections for the next hire. Lot of good things said about Steve Campbell. On pins and needles about this Georgia State game. The Panthers will be a contender sooner rather than later in this conference. Arkansas St does their thing with transfers but I'm glad we don't anymore.

I used to get up or stay up sometimes all night and try to listen to online radio broadcast of TROY games but sometimes had to resort to the green football field position updates on ESPN during a 15 month deployment for Iraqi Freedom and two year long deployments to Afghanistan, even when I was sitting in a tent at a black out FOB a stones throw from Pakistan in Khost Province Afghanistan, thanks for your service but we all sacrifice.....whats liberty? must be a Navy thing.
I appreciate that you were out there at the tip of the spear. My 20 years was mostly in personnel/ admin. They have this deal in the navy where the ship pulls in and you get to go out in town. One of the best parts of being a sailor. Glad to be able to chat with you here. Wouldn't have the freedom to disagree sometimes on the message board without men like you.

Arkansas State is up 14-0 over ULL early in the 1st. Those dudes look scary and like "it has all come together." Their stadium is empty. Arkansas St is the main concern for me after this weekend. The rest are winnable on paper. Coach Brown needs to get this team motivated again. No idea how we beat LSU but lose to a 1 win S Alabama team. The jaguars weren't impressive in that game.We handed them a W and they gladly took it
