Can we stop with Chrome now? Who are we trying to be, WKU? Chrome is the best looking helmet we wear but that’s just MY opinion. When we wear White, who are we trying to be, ULM or Penn St? When we wear red who are we trying to be, Alabama? Just look good and win the darn game.

stAte fans are calling BS on our attendance numbers. Having been at the games I'd say the announced numbers are damn close to being right. I guessed 25-26k last Saturday stAte fan can sniff my underwear

Is it time to go for 2 and go for it on 4th and short yardage? Not sure if it’s there yet but I’d hate for offense to find their identity then lose a game because we can’t kick I thought we signed that kicker out of Tate High School in Pensacola FL. He was a terrific high school kicker. Where is he at?

O line is not as inexperienced as you say. Rowsey is second year starter and Cromrite third year. The three sophomores all seen playing time last year. The difference is you don't replace a Garcia and Lassiter played with a mean streak. Fields was big and moved people. The same offensive troubles we see now started second half of last season with possibly the best OL we have ever had. It goes beyond the OL and I hope we get it corrected. And throwing the ball deep solves that? Do we start 3 sophs, a jr, and a Sr transfer? Didn't say a word about last year, just tried to state some facts. Those guys DID GET some time, but with those that have left, that core of experience and leadership, but they did not play as a starting unit. This O Line is YOUNG and getting better, but not quick enough for most I guess. Totally agree with the assessment of experience and need to grow but sadly these players come into a situation where high expectations exist and their learning curve time may be very limited by that, fair or not. Hopefully it will come together but soon. Penalties and missed kicks have got to improve!

Somebody help me out here, as I am confused (not surprising, right?). I read that we are JUST AWFUL on offense, no identity, no path, no sense of purpose. Where is the creativity? What happened to the NASCAR? Coach promised us this and that. So, we start 3 Soph, a junior and a Sr transfer on the O line. Can you say "young"? And we have a quarterback that wins the Sun Belt offensive player of the week, that's pretty good, huh? Against Akron, We gain 314 yards passing, 175 yards rushing, and outgain our opponent by more than 125 yards, pretty good balance, and WE ARE DIS-SATISFIED with that? I understand we have trouble getting into the end zone. We struggle scoring, and with 3rd down efficiency. But our offense is balanced and we're doing the things that we can do currently with a young offense of line. The notion that we can play Xbox and throw the ball down the field every play and be creative just doesn't make sense we don't have that type if talent currently. No time, no trust, YET! We run the ball as well if not better than every team in our conference. As long as we can run the ball there is no reason to try to throw the ball downfield. Control the line of scrimmage, which with our o-line is somewhat suspect at times, and you win football games. Line gets better and better every game they must mature so we'll have a chance to do some of the things people on this board want to see done, like throw the ball down the field. Until Brandon feels comfortable with his O line to stand in there he's going to continue to get rid of the ball as fast as he can, thus the amount of bubble screens and quick outs. We MUST clean up the penalties. But yesterday's game against Akron was different. I have to think that we are being officiated in the Sunbelt differently than the Mac officiates. That flagfest we had in Troy yesterday was simply awful. I have witnessed, played and been apart of hundreds and hundreds of football games, officiated for 10 years, I have never seen a "flag tossing contest" like I witnessed yesterday. There is zero doubt that the best two throwing arms on the field yesterday were the back judge and the side judge. Them two fellas could flat out throw a penalty flag, for distance. I, for one, would like to know, specifically, what folks would like this offense to do differently? We run well, we throw well, we just are struggling getting into the end zone. Coach Brown addressed that, we just have to keep working to fix those things. RELAX FOLKS, we are 3-1, 1-0, and another opportunity to show our progression next week in Baton Rouge. H A V O C ! ! ! What do we need the offense to do differently? To be able to throw deep over the middle and score points. Even Coach Brown and his press conference is upset with the amount of points were scoring Doesn't do any good to move up and down the field if you don't score Coach Brown voiced EXACTLY what I felt following the game. He was spot on! David, if he's disappointed there's good reason. I agree that the officiating went overboard with flags, but that didn't stop us from scoring, liking field goals or extra points. Akron WAS NOT a quality team!!! The defense has been very consistent but the way we moved the ball at games end when we HAD TO explains the rest of the game but hey, you've started looking at the positives and that's a good thing. PS, one of the ridiculous plays I witnessed was in the 3rd quarter or early 4th and we had them 4th and about 8 on about our 25 and they go for it. I was watching their wideout and the minute he ran three yards as he started down field our defended grabbed him around the waste and held him. They threw over the middle incomplete so we get the ball and stop their drive! NO, a completely unnecessary holding penalty gives them a first down and a TD a few plays later! That's what has to stop!

Penalties.....undisciplined mess. We are not the offense I thought we would be this year. Next week we either win a squeaker or get blow out because our offense cant score. It just depends if the team from yesterdays first half shows up or the second. Please play some X box this week and get a few more plays, the old Tony Franklin creative play days are looooooooooong gone. I will take the win but it was very ugly. After a night to sleep on it, that's kinda been my reaction to last night. I realized this visiting team was NOT very good. Even their fan base is upset with there poor play, poor execution, and poor recruiting, etc., etc.. Our section emptied quickly after halftime and I know some of it was out of frustration and by fans who played and coached the game for many years. Maybe it's because we had so much returning this year, picked up some additional talent and spent a summer convincing ourselves this offense would be a juggernaut with our stable of runners, overflow of receivers and a 5th year QB. It was the defense we believed to be our vulnerability yet the defense has been absolutely sound and determined and has largely kept us successful. It's that offense that is the surprise. We can discuss for hours the degree of this and that or what we did and didn't do to score and all points would be valuable. From MY VIEW (and that's just one view) I'm concerned that I see no determined leadership expressing itself on the offensive side of the ball, that guy "kicking butts and demanding proficiency", demanding that we go go go go! It's absolutely necessary if we are to continue to improve. Our offense looks as though it's waiting for that to happen. It's that vital part of all phases of this game and each phase has to have it to succeed to the highest level. It's that single most important non athletic entity all championship teams exhibit in spades!!! Maybe it will show up this week.....next week but if we are to be champions, IT MUST SHOW UP SOON! We can all talk about play selection, running east and west vs north and south, bubble screens or what routes are run and where and we each will be right and wrong in our own ways. I think so much expectations were brought to this season after waiting so long that disappointments come much easier. We are not as bad as many say or as good as many advocate. Time will tell!

Guys we just won a game against a pretty good team. Yeah we didn't look our best but Akron had a lot to do with that. I think they coached a smart football game. Our offense wasn't explosive because Akron coached a good defensive game. We are a good football team and that will be made clear over the next few games. Don't miss the LSU game next week because it all might come together. I respectfully disagree with your assessment of their team. In my view they were on of the weakest teams we will play all year with the exception of Ga State. They showed no especially great runners and their QB was average at best. They were known for being an undisciplined team by their own fandom so I think we lucked up against an average MAC team that will lose a lot more games this year. Bowden's job is being questioned. I just think we sleepwalked through that game and almost gave it away. I'm still looking for that "killer instinct" that championship teams possess. JMHO!

That's the character of this offense. Start off with some spunk, score a few points then go I Tom marsh mellow mode until we find our butts behind then find that "git er done" gear to finish with that spark that hasn't appeared the entire game.and hopefully will be enough. I reminded of someone on welfare when needed work is present needing to be done. Just hang around, look it over, play with it but by all means don't actively get involved unless you find they are taking it away from you then you work your butts off at the last minute trying to keep your status. Our offense has no sense of emergency, domination or purpose. It's just out there.....doing whatever they do to pass time! Wow. It's odd, that feeling came over me as the game progressed and as we were leaving I heard three dear friends and former players and coaches say EXACTLY the same thoughts even though the worded it differently. "No identity" was one comment, "no observable purpose or urgency" was another. Oh well, just our thoughts after a slim win over a BAD team!

There needs to be new people ordering/designing the gear they sell in the book store. My daughter ordered me a "sideline" shirt for my birthday and she was totally shocked when it arrived that it had heat transfer logos. She felt at over $80.00 it should have had stitched logos and I totally agree. Heat transfer look cheap! It was an Adidas as well! I checked out the hats last game and they were a pitiful lot! We have great colors for designers to use and a great logo, it would seem that the selection could be much improved! Jab's in Troy has the license to stitch Power T's on stuff. I think it's like $10 an item. I like my work polos and shirts to be the long style, so I just buy them generic from Adidas, UA or wherever and get Jab's to take care of the rest. It has really taken a lot of the headache out of trying to find big guy stuff at the bookstore. Thanks, that's an idea! So they can stitch the Power T on a shirt? I get "Troy University" and "Troy Trojans" done at a print shop here in Milton but they want touch the copyrighted "T" and I know why COPYRIGHT!😂

Plus he called us Troy State, which makes it even worse. He did call us Troy State. To be fair though, he coached against us twice I think when we were Troy State. I talk to a lot of old timers, and to them we will always be Troy State. Nothing to be ashamed about being called Troy State. We were that a LOT longer than we've been Troy University. Both were/are great names reminding us of great times!

I enjoyed his performance. I saw a smart, calm, and athletic QB. We got a win against a team that was making headlines and we were thousands of miles away from home. I liked what I saw from the team (minus the controllable penalties). ...minus poor passing D in the second half. "Poor pass defense" occurs when the passer has all day to throw. Our defense is playing exceptional but we did not put pressure on NMSU's passer yesterday! Hopefully that will improve.

Making a bad team look good. Sorry, this IS NOT a bad team. That kid at QB can throw and run. They will beat some people in the belt this year, maybe a lot of them! They gave him all night to throw with their protection, we almost NEVER put pressure in him and that's a compliment to their defensive line play. Arizona St barely beat them and New Mexico lost to them. I'm getting really tired of seeing the same number continue to get called for silly penalties that kills our offensive drives. No names or numbers but I can't understand why it doesn't end or someone else given a chance to prove they understand the cadence and snap number or call! We looked much better offensively this week especially early. Where's Jabir??? Brandon finally ran with the keeper for HUGE TD, it's open a lot if he chooses to run with it! Guess they are protecting him but him keeping it a few times per fame would really add to our offensive threat.

He only has one carry on the season, and that was during the Boise State game. He didn't have any stats recorded against ASU or NMSU. Any idea what's going on? Still recovering from the ACL tear possibly? Same thought here?

NASCAR isn't about running plays as fast as possible. It is designed to get to the line quickly in order to keep the defense from subbing and making big adjustments in between plays. I believe NB has said he wanted to run a very high average number of offensive plays each game. Much more than regular huddling teams run and the only way that happens is cut the delay time between snaps! You have a clock and we often use it up without huddling. I've alway marveled that when we are behind and/or in a pickle as to time left, we really speed the offense up to accomplish more in that short period of time and it's amazing how much more successful our offense seems to be.

I used the term "anemic" in my description because of just what this poster said, we touted an "Air Raid" offense running played a torrid pace. When we do that we seem to move the ball well. I keep looking for that type offense scheme to appear this year but it hasn't and I suppose I assumed if it were ever going to be our trademark in reality this was the year. They stand and look at the sideline waiting A LOT and I wonder why. It was a generalization I chose of what I felt after Saturdays game against a WEAK opponent. With that being said, all those yards was against a team our third team could have beaten. They had just lost to TUSKEEGEE so don't put too much stock in those stats from the ASU game. I'm very excited about these guys and what they could possibly accomplish and I want them to live up to the hype for 2017! I just struggle understanding why throws deep across the middle are so rare? It would keep the LB's and safeties honest. It's much easier to cover the sideline and we throw into double coverage a lot there. In MY OPINION that's because teams realize we don't throw over the middle deep often so they can afford to put safeties to help on sideline coverage. We have a stable of running backs so it would seem to me that a rapid fire offense would wear out their defenses long before our offense if we chose to run "NASCAR". It's all just opinions on my part and what I see this site being about. No negatives intended, just observations. We will find out Saturday where we really stack up in the Belt this year. Agreed. I think some of that is timing. With the O line under-performing, to a certain extent, may not have allowed those seam, deep crossing, or post patterns. Hopefully, with Bama St in the rearview, there is more confidence and cohesion upfront to allow for the bombs to fly. Hard to argue with the run game, too. Troy's offense has quite a few "toys" or weapons to be either run-based or pass-happy. An awesome problem to have! #Havoc! #LetSlipTheDogsOfWar Yes it is a good problem! I love our running game possibilities. Wear them out on defense with our big 4! I also agree that the offensive lines lack of experience may be a hold up on the fast offense scheme until they learn the ropes but that needs to happen soon and I believe it will!

Can you 'old timers' believe we are complaining about the length of lines at the concession stands and running completely out of concessions? While I sympathize with those who had to stand in those lines and feel bad for those who stood in those lines and then got to the concession stand and realize that there was nothing to be bought, these are the types of problems many of us have dreamed about. The day that the stadium would be so full that you have to wait in line to get concessions. The crowd would be so big they getting to your seat would take longer than 2 or 3 minutes. That tickets would be tough to come by and that the lines outside the ticket Gates would be stretched all the way through tailgate Terrace. Folks These Times They Are A-Changin. Just get on the train and ride. It feels really good to be a Trojan during these times I say, "HAVOC and let slip the dogs of war"!!! It's a GOOD problem to have but still a problem that needs attention if game fan experience is still an issue!
