Geez, we couldn’t stop these guys from hitting the deep ball last week. It appears we learned nothing.

stAte just beat us at home last week, they are a very solid team. We'll have to play our best. They are definitely heating up after a slow-ish start.

Troy finished dead last.
Remember when Troy used to have a stellar Track & Field program? And they dominated the Gulf South Conference for years... now it's just dust in the wind.
We ran the Atlantic Sun for first couple of years in college. The Sun Belt was a huge jump in the competition.

The start of the season sneaked up on me because basketball has done so well. Good problem to have!

What sucked about that year was we knew that would happen. There was immense pressure on the FAU game to end the regular season. It's the worst home loss I've attended except maybe Abilene Christian. Do you remember the Troy student stealing the giant FAU flag at the end of the game? He almost made it to the concourse but was caught by a fowl owl on the prowl at the last minute. I remember the flag, but I do not remember those hijinks!

Do we also want to be hypocritical? We've all dogged Alabama and Auburn all these years about being too scared to play Troy. I don't want us to be like those schools and not play an in-state school or former rival just because we felt like we've moved past them.

And another huge road win? Keeping us in the hunt. Meanwhile, I hope neither the men or the women have to play at Southern Miss again this year. What a place of horrors...

This will be a big week. If we can sweep through Georgia — both very winnable games — we can contend for the regular-season title. We've got to learn to close out road games. We have three losses by 1 point, another by 2 and another by 3 away from Trojan Arena. Thirteen more well-placed points means we're 18-3, not 13-8.

Reagan's a good dude and was a solid QB coach. I'll be interested in seeing how the playcalling duties and game planning are handled.

Let's schedule four games, sweep them and then hold the all-time series advantage. Selfishly, a game at JSU is only a 40-minute drive for me versus a 3-hour drive.

Welp, we’re an NCAA Tournament team at home and bottom of the SoCon or SWAC on the road.

Blowing an 18-point lead in the second half is worth some suspensions, right?

Tough loss last night at Mitchell Center. I'm glad to see that even though we couldn't buy a three in the first half (odd that it happens at the Mitchell Center frequently), we kept it close and warmed up in the second half. The men can shoot well, but they have other ways to win.

He's too good for them. The man doesn't have many clues, but he can recruit. I think XHCCL > XHCJS in recruiting. Recruiting prowess not withstanding, he singlehandedly destroyed, in under 3 years, what HCCG, HCLB, and HCNB had taken 35 years to build. Imagine what he could do to a program with the history of SouthAL This is true. Looking at Winsipedia, since 1966, Troy has only once had three consecutive losing seasons. That is an incredible stat. Even more incredible — one man was the coach for all three.

Women had a great game against JMU. Adjustment after first quarter lead a change from a double digit deficit to a double digit lead. Women with 4 straight conference win. Ladies took seven games to finally win one, but they’ve jelled at the right time. That was a conference-leading JMU they whipped!

Junior Gnonkonde worked out really well for us, so maybe that's a good sign for this guy.

Wish list: Coastal at night on a Saturday in October or November. Georgia Southern after Thanksgiving so Savannah is decorated. The rest of the games are meh. Lafayette never a "Meh". NOLA without the smell! (or the crime!) GREAT FOOD!

Does anyone have an idea of when some of these (I think there are seven or eight) coaching hires “per sources” will be confirmed by Troy University or Troy Athletics? I know the Holidays probably have delayed decisions with university personnel being off, but it would be nice to hear some positive news come out this week. While this silence has been deafening, the individual student-athletes making announcements regarding their departures has not‼️ I have wondered the same thing. I can't wait to see official updates to the website.

This is what they wanted! They did not want what happened last year to happen again with the green mist beating USC Therefor they put #8 vs aN overrated #22 team with the weakest schedule in college football ! They do t want a P5 G5. They want a. P3 or even P 2 and the rest will ge on out with no chance of making it into the 12 team playoff With the money disparity growing, most G5s will be gutted by player and coach departures by the time any P5-G5 matchup happen (except the one in the playoffs). The days of those upsets are limited.

Troy takes down Coastal on the road. 72-65. Free throws were the difference: Troy was 21-23, while Coastal was 12-25.

This guy needs to be celebrated, taken out to the finest dinner Pike Co allows, lifted up on everyone's shoulders at parties, and to be sung to with "He's A Jolly Good Fellow" over the stadium loudspeakers at noon every day for a solid semester. Someone, take him to Sister's for the buffet. Let him go nuts. As part of an NIL deal. Otherwise, it's an impermissible benefit, right?
