Vic was head coach at Wyoming and they only won a couple of games. He is more of a co-ordinator and an excellent one at that. That was a long, long time ago... If he really wants to succeed CNB we better make it happen...

...since losing to us they suddenly win their games beating ranked teams like Auburn and Florida and now Ole Miss. They are back in the Top 25 with only two losses (6-2)...
Btw, Boise St is now 5-2, they defeated Wyoming last night.

This team cant handle pressure. They tend to win away games (USM, LSU) but cant handle key conference home games on national TV (Ark St, USA). I blame lack of sr leadership and the coaches. Hopefully next year will be different..we'll have an experienced oline and some of the off. players will leave the team due to graduation... defense is fine, it's mostly the offense but CNB should deal with this now...

I kind of disagree with this quote:
Of course, you need marquee wins - but if Troy wants to be a Boise St, BYU (or Utah/TCU some years ago), it needs to crack the Top12 and go to a NY6 bowl (and probably win the game) ... + we need to be constantly ranked in the Top25 almost every year. Having a player in the Heisman discussion also helps (Boise St, Marshall, N. Illinois, etc). I think this is crucial otherwise you cannot be an Elite G5 program.

CNB is doing a great job promoting the program and the university. You can watch and listen to various interviews on facebook and twitter. He keeps mentioning how tough we usually play these top BCS teams and that we expect to win these money games. He also made sure to mention our non-athletic campus improvements and recent Basketball success. NB is fully dedicated and does not just focus on Troy Football.. I wished we could keep him around longer... but programs such as Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee are being mentioned already as possible destinations.

We just beat LSU at their place and we already have home games vs NC State, Miss St and Boise State in place. We shouldn't even discuss teams like UAB, Jax St, etc here...why should we play them? Our new rival is South Al and maybe Southern Miss (we all recruit the same players)

I enjoyed his performance. I saw a smart, calm, and athletic QB. We got a win against a team that was making headlines and we were thousands of miles away from home. I liked what I saw from the team (minus the controllable penalties). ...minus poor passing D in the second half.

Akron is also no pushover. The entire team is very experienced.
If we continue playing like this we will lose the next three games...

* @mods: Please move thread to FB section. Thanks *
So, 605 total yds, 345 yds passing, 32/40 completion.
So why am I still not sold on our OFF being a high scoring offense?? Because we scored merely 4 TDs (no passing TD) vs a lesser opponent.
The running game is improved, Henderson is very talented, Jernigan-type of talent, Chunn and Anderson played solid as usual... however not sure about the passing game though. I am not impressed. We have so many weapons, and we don't seem to utilize them effectively. We are trying to get the RBs heavily involved in the passing game, but I am not sure this will work vs tougher opponents... however this is not what concerns me the most because I trust the coaches. However, it's the lack of ernergy in certain situations. In crucial situations, there is no focus, no energy, no leadership on the field. CNB doesn't seem to be happy either...
Btw,
Wash St vs Boise St, 47-44 in 3OT Akron vs UAPB, 52-3

They must hate TX A&M even more. ESPN never showed the game and added a third stream of the Auburn/Clemson game instead.

The good news in the loss to Boise is that more then likely CNB will be the Troy coach next year...I think Troy is going to have to win against teams like Boise along with be conference champs ( still doable) for CNB to get a shot at being a head coach at a power 5 conference team...jmo I agree, but I prefer wins. Anyways, If CNB can deliver a win over Boise St next year, I am ok with it... but sooner than later we need a few marquee wins...

Actually, some of the bigger games we won last year were extremely close (Southern Miss, S Alabama, App State), maybe this team is just a bit overrated. Anyways, let's focus on the remaining games (they are all winnable minus LSU), coaches will take care of the rest. Next year we'll get another shot at Boise St when we open our brand new facility... what a great time to be a Trojan!

Bad calls on both sides. Game was over when the Bronco's scored their first TD though. Our offense played better in the second half but overall very disappointing performance, incl playcalling. Somehow those Ark St coaches have got us figured out and I am worried about this.
I am starting to think our offense is not as good as we might think. Defense showed up as usual, esp the D-line - good job, very impressive. Coach Koenning did his homework, he is one of the best DCs in the country. period. I still think this team will win many FB games this season, but I am sick and tired of not winning the big games...

I agree we have nothing to lose. However, this Boise State team is very beatable. A win would be comparable to our past wins over Marshall in 2003 and 2004 (when they were actually good).

I don't get people (students) who still root for other schools after getting rejected... I have a buddy who is from Michigan and got rejected by the University of Michigan (Grad school), twice - he hates Michigan so much now... he even lives in East Lansing now, close to Spartan Stadium!
