Hey Troy fans, I’m an App State fan who lives in Montgomery and is coming to the game just supporting my alma mater. Nothing against ya’ll, first sporting event I attended in my life was a Troy basketball game. But wondering what is the parking situation since this is my first football game there. Can I just pay for parking on the spot in one of the lots? Google hasn’t given me much info other than a map of the lots. Thanks Wherever you park - there a a couple of great tailgates behind the alumni house. Come by and say hello! My family is under the big tree in the back. The last time I was at App - we met the nicest people and would like to repay the kindness!

One more thing. Not one player came to thank the band or cheerleaders or students. Lack of class from the leadership (or lack there of) (The HC we don’t speak of). I wish we would do something like play the Alma Mater after games, win or lose, to do something to unite the players, band, students, alumni and fans. We need several things - The Alma Mater after a game is a great idea. We need a kick off cheer. If weâre going to do the âDay-ohâ we need to commit and do it year after year until it becomes ours. We need cardinal shakers on sticks. The skinny kind you see at other schools. Pick them upon the way in. Have bins to drop them off on the way out. Maybe ask KW Recycling to sponsor (plastic shakers and all). We need for the Announcer to communicate with the band. And, maybe ask athletics to help the band with performance fees to play some new stand tunes. And, we need to stick the visiting fans in the upper deck - I donât care if it looks empty on that side - or have students all the way across the bottom on the visiting team side.

This is the first post I've written despite my years looking through the site. And I have to say that all I see here is a bunch of whiners who don't understand what Troy football, let alone college football, is. Seeing some people on here expressing that they want the team to lose purely out of spite to (The HC we don’t speak of). These kids on the team don't deserve that, and it's crazy to see some of y'all wishing that on them. Now, (The HC we don’t speak of) has problems, but you're treating him like he's disrespecting one of the great programs of all time, when I'm sorry to say Troy is not. Neal Brown had a good stretch, but you're acting like he didn't start with a 4-8 record in a far easier Sun Belt conference compared to now. I grew up in the Blakeney days where a bowl appearance felt normal, but he's had years that were far worse than (The HC we don’t speak of). There is definite improvement here, and he finally is getting his own guys in here. These kids and coaches are doing good and I want this toxic site fanbase to know that. I agree 100% that we should support the players, but to say Troy is not one of the great programs of all time is not correct either. No we haven't won a national championship but we are (were) a very recognizable brand. "Anyone, anytime, anywhere" giant-killing brand. Yes, Larry Blakeney did not finish well, but people knew who we were, because of his players, because of those "oh-so-sweet" victories against Miss. State, Missouri, Marshall, then LSU and Nebraska and even those "moral" victories. Neal reinvigorated the brand. For him and us, I think he left too soon. I saw (The HC we don’t speak of) at the Football 101 event in July. He seemed relaxed, he was more articulate than I had ever heard him. The players who participated in that event were excited and seemed to really be enjoying themselves and their team mates. And I thought, this is it. Hope is a fickle friend.

Neil Brown. WVU is 4-5 with Texas and Kansas State left to play. He is very much on the hot seat with a 9-14 conference record during his tenure. If WVU let’s him go, we would be stupid not to bring Neil back. If he gets let go hopefully he would come back. It has been a less than stellar time for him but I believe he chose the wrong P5 job. I agree but I also think he left too soon. We were at the top of the Belt but not unshakable. We still needed that national recognition that as the very top of the G5, maybe if we’d beaten Boise. I don’t know many who would turn down the deal West Virginia offered. Unfortunately coming back to Troy would not be good for his career after what CL has done to our program.

If I’m not mistaken I don’t think Coastal has beaten a team with a winning record this year.

Would Jon Sumrall come this time? I don't know. I do know based on Twitter - not the be all, end all of information - that some folks in Morgantown are not happy with XHCNB. And no, I do not think he would come back to Troy, but Jon might be ready for a change.

In addition to all the game festivities, the SGA plans to read all the names of those who perished in the attacks on 9/11. This will be Saturday morning on main Quad.

I had a great time at the scrimmage today. Defense looked good and laid down some hard pops when tackling. I thought Gunnar looked confident and looks like he’s gotten sturdier. The new bouncy houses are really cool and this time two weeks from now it will be time to head into The Vet for pre-game! Go Trojans!

I spoke with Kyle George and the patio area will become the team meeting room(s) on the second floor, coaches offices will move to the new third floor. They are working on a plan that would have construction going on during the season.

I don't know what game y'all are playing, but I know the rest of the Board has lost and I don't think anyone will win. I agree. Can y'all just have your own thread to swing those things around and let the rest of us just talk Trojan sports?!

But would he have left if he had been promoted to OC with a pay raise? Where is our AD? Very little coming out of our athletic department.
