You are saying our front 7 is young also. Not true, NG Poole Sr, DT Stadom Sr, DE Calloway Sr and LB Lebbie Sr.. Four out of the 7 are Sr with a lot of playing time.

Still no depth chart, not a good sign for players or coaches. Meaning there's still a long ways to go before we are ready for 2017.

Is Rasool Clemens here for spring ball or is he a fall guy? Haven't heard much about him this spring. I'm curious what kind of impact he can make. Last scrimmage I was at Clemens and Lucky were working in the number 2 spot as DE's to help with the depth. Still looks very young but hope with the reps both will get better. Him and Lucky will be the future.

Help me understand the serious holes we have on defense? The two linebacker spots are completely gone as all four in the two deep were seniors. 6 of our top 8 tacklers need to be replaced. 1st Team All-SBC and Defensive Player of the Year Rashad Dillard, and Junior Gnonkonde have graduated. U. McGhee who was next in line to start at either DE or BANDIT has transferred to Alabama State. We have talent for sure, but we lack experience and will need to develop quality depth at LB, DE, and BANDIT. Those guys will not be easily replaced, miscues are probable especially early in the year. I agree we need to fill spots due to players graduating and one or two transferring due to they could not play at the D-1 level. Starting with LB's, first off Labbie was moved to where he was recruited as a 4 star player to play. He has great speed and I will bet money he will be as good or better then what we played with last year. Smiley being the other LB and with a nose for the ball and not to skip his speed, he will be one of the best moves Neal will make all year. As for the bandit spot we will be a little young there but Zo will do a great job when it comes to the pass rush and helping with run. He will be a player to watch all year progress. DE spot will be shored up really well with Calloway moving outside. He played the last three years as a undersized DT and he was one of our best run stoppers in the middle, being double teamed just about every play. Now that Neal and Vic has moved him outside it will free him up to also do what he was recruited to do. Look to see him be more productive on the outside then he was on the inside. He will produce big at that spot. With that said I feel and this is my opinion, we have filled most of what you stated as serious holes. I look to see Vic work to make sure that the backups are couched up with lots of rep in the Spring and Fall so the two's will be ready to compete at the same level as the one's. With all that said the Trojans should have the best or one of best front six defense in the Sun Belt Conference and they should be able to compete with anyone we play in 2017. Again this is just my opinion but makes for great conversation.

ESPN FPI
I'm calling bunk on this. We are way better than that. Last preseason, I predicted we would go 11-1 in regular season. I just missed. This season... I'm going all in. After carefully examining our 2017 schedule last evening while boosting my intellect with The Macallan 12 year, I am calling 14-0. That's right, National Championship! A single malt man, I see! I prefer the Glenfiddich 15 myself. Awfully good dram. What region is the Macallan from? As for ESPNs FPI ... I think 76 is maybe 20 spots too low. We are really, really green (though talented) at linebacker. I can see us getting back in the Top 25 as the season progresses, but we have some serious holes to fill on defense first. Bringing back 100% of our QB, WR, RB, and TE production (100% of yards produced) will be a huge boone. The good news is that Boise is losing way more key players than we are. I've read from a few different sources that this is the most turnover they've had in 10 years. We can catch them early in Game 1. We might be able to grab a W, and it won't be because we overachieved or snuck up on them. I think we're on their level, honestly. Help me understand the serious holes we have on defense?

Been looking for Jeremy Wise from the Dothan Eagle to post the Spring depth chart but have not seen one. I do know that things will change from now to Fall but was looking for a chart to gauge by for the 2017 season.

Looking forward to seeing Lucky and Clemons on the field together...would be nice to have bookends for once...if they don't play the same position. They are both playing on the same side. Calloway has been moved to the D end postion.

Troy is shaping up as an optimist-vs.-pessimist team. An optimist can point out that the Trojans have a two-year starting quarterback and most of a defense that was too thin last fall but boasts quite a bit of experience this time around.
A pessimist, meanwhile, will point out that the only explosive skill position weapons are gone, as are the best pass rusher and two best defensive backs.
If you're looking for the Sun Belt team most likely to overachieve compared to last year's results, the energized Trojans might be a solid choice.

Due to the both D ends leaving on Defense, I would think we will see SR. players being moved around to file those spots. Would not be surprised to #30 Stadom move back outside to DE due to #94 Calloway has been in the starting spot in the last four games. The NG spot is well taken care with #90 Sanders and #97 Poole Anchoring down the middle. This way we would have SR across the board with a lot playing experience. If we can get the LB problem solved and continue to grow with our DB's, our defense should be as good or even better in 2017.
I feel the O Line will do just fine with the three SR starters leaving. Brown has done a great job in the past three games getting the playing time to the young and up coming linemen that will fill those spots. Our receiver core has been pretty good the past two year, need to work on ball handling and we should be as good as anyone in the Sun Belt. The running back core speaks for it-self and with Chunn returning and the injuries cleaned up we will have the best in the Sun Belt.
Over all the Trojans should be in the driver seat again next year to run for the Sun Belt Championship.

My prediction is really simple, if we play offense as well as we did against App State and do not lose cap control like we did from the D-Line at times, which means playing from our feet not on our backs we will win by 21 point at the end of the night.

The way I see it is Troy has the better offense then App State. When you look at the defense of both teams they will match up well and Troy should be able to stop the run, making them throw the ball more. With the rust knocked off after last weeks game we should do well with the passing game of App State. With that said my prediction will be we win by 10 points.
Troy Trojans - 24 App State - 14

Not sure this #RankTroy campaign the school is taking on is the right one. We lose and we have major egg on the face and you kinda look foolish. Why not just let the play on field dictate and promote Troy in general? Enough with the "y'all need to rank us because we say so" I agree, let the men of Troy play it out on the field and at the end of the day we will be where we will need to be.
