To expand on Hemi's correct answer, in 2017 we finished the regular season 10-2. A win in the New Orleans Bowl over North Texas gave us our 11th win. This is all recent data and I didn't look at the Blakeney era. To expand a bit, in 2016, 2017, and 2018 we earned 10+ win seasons, but 2017 was the only one with the 10th win before a bowl. Blakeney's last 10 win season was 2000. He also had 10+ wins in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, and 1999.

I think we become strong enough to muscle into the top 25 by next season. Carry the momentum from a bowl win over a p5 team and we are there. Unless we luck into the Independence and a Pac 12 team ends up there too. Otherwise, it's AAC/CUSA vs an Independent the last few years.

Machine! Much as I like the credit, this one was all Thomas. The Machine has been in disrepair for a bit. Too much life happening to write.

I was listening to an interview the other day with Brad Johnson and he was talking about key moves the Bucs made in order to win a super bowl. He specifically mentioned how going out and getting Kerry Jenkins was a big piece of that puzzle to take them to the next level. It got me to asking myself, why is he not in the Troy HOF?? I mean he wasn’t just on the roster, he started and won a super bowl and was a major contributor on that team. I saw him last year at homecoming and the dude is a super cool cat. Did he make someone mad? It just doesn’t make sense to me he’s not in the HOF at Troy. Same reason Sherrill Busby isn't either...4 block kicks in one game Oh, you mean this one? 🤣 thetrojanwall.com/blocking-in-memphis-sherrill-busbys-record-breaking-game/

First $500 takes this fine piece home. 1) It's still weird that he was undefeated against South. 2) It's even weirder seeing him in cardinal. The man seemed averse to it while he was here.

Anyone wanting one of these I have a few extra. I'd love one if you have extras. It can always go in The Classroom.

As the resident uniform guy, I thought I'd share with you guys the numbers so far this season. Trojan Equipment has outfitted the team in 8 different combinations without repeating one yet. Cardinal Helmet - 2-1 Silver Helmet - 2-1 Black Helmet - 2-0 Cardinal jerseys - 3-0 White jerseys - 1-2 Black jerseys - 2-0 Cardinal pants - 2-1 Black pants - 2-0 White pants - 2-1 what’s the logo records ? Didn't think about it because we change those nearly every game. I'll look tonight and see though.

So what you're saying is they should always wear the black helmet, cardinal jerseys, and black pants. That's exactly what I'm saying.

Went over to 🚫 Twitter page to see what uniform they might be wearing. I couldn’t tell from the lighting in the video but it may be black uniforms…….blackouts on Thursday usually don’t mix well. I’m firm believer their bad luck so I’m hoping the little zoo kittens roll with black uniforms They're going with blue on blue. Not black.

Great job as always. I'm glad the message board didn't exist in 1928. Marion dropped 97 on us!! Can we play them again? Unfortunately not. They are basically a high school now. Probably were then too, to be fair.

Yes, that's right! TWO STORIES in one day. I updated my Homecoming History story from two years ago with missing games in our history, including what I believe is the 1st homecoming game AND a game that wasn't even in the record books. thetrojanwall.com/homecoming-history/

I've been begging for the script for years.
Unless something wild happens by the end of the season, this will be #1 in my uniform rankings.
Also, called it.

Should have gone cardinal cardinal and silver and match exactly. Love the helmets though While I like the idea, we don't have a silver pant in the equipment room anymore. Even if we did, it wouldn't match the jersey.

Paging The Machine, aka bennekles What uniform combo did we wear the last time we honored the 1987 team? Also, an open request to Trojan Warrior: I hereby nominate bennekles to be the Troyfans.com official historian. <-if there is such a position. 1) We went Chrome Dome (no special decal)/Cardinal/Cardinal. 2) You're far too kind. I just try to write the stuff I wish I could've read years ago. I'm sad that my production has dropped off this year, but new classes and making lessons for them has taken up all of my free time. I promise the 1987 series will get finished.

I didn't do a full on Trojan Wall article, but I thought y'all's enjoy this just the same. This is my research from this morning. From the earliest known helmets in 1936, Troy wore silver, white, and cardinal from then until 1993. That was the introduction of the first black helmet which would stay until 2004. Since the reintroduction of the cardinal helmet in 2004, Troy has only worn the black helmets 7 times before today. The most notable black helmet game in my opinion from this period was the Al Lucas memorial game. This was played in essentially the same uniforms he used. During the initial run with the black helmets, Blakeney's Boys amassed a 95-40-1 record using those lids. From the Al Lucas game in 2005 to the end of 2015, the second era of black helmets went 3-4. That gives the black lids a 98-44-1 record and a 68.53 winning percentage. From 1993 through the 2013 Blackout (😐), Troy used black facemasks every time they used black helmets. In the four games it was used in 2015, they used chrome silver facemasks. Today, against Marshall, marks the first time white facemasks will be used on the black helmets. I'm a huge fan of white facemasks returning. Something that has only been done twice before (2021) in the last couple of decades. Before 2021's return of white facemasks, they were used consistently from 1978-1988. Today also marks the first time that a white outline logo returns to the black lid since Silhouette Marvin left in 1998. Finally, Troy has played Marshall five times (1993, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004). In all of those games, Troy has worn black helmets, a tradition that continues today. I’m a proud owner of a 2005 black out game helmet honoring Al Lucas. My prized TROJAN memorabilia piece. If you EVER want to not own that anymore, please call me. 😁

If you don't like black helmets that's fine, but - check me if I'm wrong here - wasn't Troy wearing black helmets EVERY time they've beaten Marshall? Not just the wins. We've never worn anything but black helmets against Marshall.

No matter what happens, with a rebuilding team, remember that 1-4 or 1-5 even to start the season was never out of the realm of possibility.
We will see how we rebuild in the back half of the season and set up for 2023.

the new silver helmet is a great addition too. Wondering if it debuts next week or if they’ll wait until the first conference game I could definitely see it soon. I think this week though we go cardinal/cardinal/black. I was SO CLOSE!

Do remember the Chrome Domes are no more. They were retired after the 2019 season in favor of the Trojan Smokes which got retired this year in favor of the new black helmets. the new silver helmet is a great addition too. Wondering if it debuts next week or if they’ll wait until the first conference game I could definitely see it soon. I think this week though we go cardinal/cardinal/black.
