He, at one time, was a rising sports talk star with a daily show on ESPN. He was edgy, sometimes confrontational, and I thought a very good interviewer. He torpedoed his own career when he got into it on air with Jim Everett. After being very critical of Everett on multiple occasions, Everett confronted Rome on the air. Before it was over, Rome called him "Chris Everett" essentially questioning his manhood and saying he (Everett) couldn't back up his on air bravado. ESPN either cancelled, or failed to renew at the end of the season, Rome's show. He disappeared for years, but has sort of make a comeback the last few years. This: Thank's for finding that, I haven't seen that clip in years. If my memory serves me, this was in the late 80s, early 90s, Rome looks like he's 18 years old in this clip. I'm not sure what the name of his first show on ESPN was but it was on in the afternoon around the time Roy Firestone had his show. I liked Firestone, never cared for Rome because as someone else has said, he was a dweeb. His whole schtick was to pick fights with people, as this clip shows.

The Tweet didn't say, but since it came from Troy Athletics, i assume they mean central time.

Marshall will be a GREAT addition to the SBC. Like USM, they will come in and compete immediately. That said, I watched the JMU/NDS semi final game yesterday and JMU looked undersized and slow compared to what we’re are accustomed to seeing in The Belt. I get that they are operating on fewer scholarships at the FCS level, but based on what I think I saw, it will take them more than their transition years to get up to speed. I think they are a good add, but they won’t compete immediately like Marshall and USM.

My cable/internet bill went from just over $170/month to about $205. I cut the cord, went with Hulu + Live TV. After paying for that and the internet needed to stream it, I was saving about $50/month. Then, at the end of the 2020 MLB season, HULU lost the rights to broadcast the regional sports channels. I’m as big a baseball fan as I am a football fan, so I had to explore options. ATT Direct was the only streaming service that would provide all that my wife and want to watch. The bill for streaming/internet would have been $5/month less than cable. I went back to Comcast and they agreed to 2 years at the previous rate. I reconnected cable, no streaming hassle, and am saving money. I don’t see myself streaming again.

I want the Sunbelt teams to do well during the bowl season, but dang, I'm having a hard time pulling for Coastal to win this game. I'm just not a fan of the beach chickens.

This guy had a better touchdown in Turner Field than we did this year against GAST… Excited for this get! Seems to have great motor and a strong second burst! Really good vision as well. Those were some really good open field cuts.

You got a little buzz going from the 3 bud lights during the game and you all know your wife, girlfriend, husband, boyfriend can all get on board with this one. Singing come and get your love to your date in the student section when your crap faced or completely sober, is fun. And as Buzz said, its catchy It's the crap faced that sing the Come and get your arse Whoopin the rest of us the love. The smiling and "ol my goshes" are what makes it fun. There are a lot of good songs the catchy little ones are the ones that catch on spontaneously. This song does that. So we know we have two votes for the "Bong ba ba Bong ba ba Bong come and get your love" Great fun! Make that 3 votes.

Once a Barner always a Barner. No to Bo. Theres talent to be found. So Richard Jubinor (current Trojan), Demontray Carter, Larry Blakeney aren’t Trojans? Wow That's the problem with generalities and absolutes. They're never 100% accurate. (see what I did there?)

Unfortunately Taylor nor Gunner is the answer, respectfully. Agreed. And I believe Bo Nix had a fractured ankle. He actually played on it for a while after he fractured it. I'm no medical expert, but it seems like a fractured ankle would be easier to overcome and be back to normal than, say, an ACL tear? The fibula, which is the bone that was fractured in Bo’s ankle, is not the primary weight bearing bone of the lower leg. The fact that he played on it after it was broken would indicate it probably wasn’t displaced, making the repair simple and uncomplicated. The bone should mend in 6-8 weeks. Barring a complication such as infection, he should be good as new before August.

If we could get Bo without his pop being included in the package, I’d be OK with that. It would give an incoming guy a year to RS and learn the offense. I could be wrong, but I don’t see Bo in a TROY uni without Patrick being on staff.

I'd say he probably doesn't wind up at Troy, considering we don't have an OC at the moment. He doesn't know what the offense will look like. But who knows... I’m saying he doesn’t come to TROY unless he’s part of a package deal. If we hire Patrick, we MIGHT get Bo. No Patrick, no Bo.

I like Cry Havoc or For Troy. I get awkward responses sometimes when I encounter a Trojan in the wild and I throw out a Cry Havoc! Unless they attend football games, even Troy people aren't going to understand "Cry Havoc". My vehicle tags are 1HAV0C and 2HAV0C and I get asked about them a lot. By the time I finish explaining the meaning (and I've condensed it as much as I know how) eyes have glazed over. It's caught on with the football crowd but it will be years before enough current students who know the significance become alums and are roaming around with the rest of us and it becomes a thing in public.

Wow! Paul gave Troy some nice compliments. Can’t wait for spring football! Don't get too excited. Based on his track record, I doubt they were very sincere. Even when Neal was the HC, Finebaum would give HIM props for winning, but he did so in way that denigrated Troy. He thinks we are a joke and that we have no business thinking we can play big time football, MSU, Mizzu, OK St, LSU, Nebraska not withstanding.

I agree it's not very inspiring. I remember, however, when the slogan was first introduced, it was done with the explanation that its purpose was to show unity across the brand...all sports, all academic divisions, all campuses. Given its stated purpose, it's probably as good a slogan as one could come up with. As a battle cry for a football game, it is, as you said, a stupid phrase. It's about as inspiring as ex HC...well you know. Ex coach ( the one who should not be named) AKA Eeyore? That's why the ellipsis.

It does make you wonder what Neal Brown's thoughts are currently with his situation at WVU.
Financially, he's got it made, especially with his extension he received. And I'd have to argue that Morgantown is a prettier place to live than Troy. But man the WVU fans are giving him hell... something he never had to deal with in Troy.
Because he won at Troy. The solution to get the hillbillies off his back is in his hands and it’s just one thing. Love Neal Brown, he good, my man. But I never feel sorry for these coaches. They have zero problems cashing those million dollar checks. They know what they are getting into. We wouldn’t accept him going 6-6 or 5-7 for three straight years why should they ? Exactly this. It's a hard, harsh, results driven career. As is the case in any such endeavor, success can be life altering, but fail to produce leads to lose of job (I've experienced that). As someone else said, he and his family should be set, financially, for life whenever his time at WVU is up. I wish him the best, but if he can't get them over the hump, I suspect his time there will soon end.

One Troy. Could we have found a more stupid phrase. TKG maybe does it. They both make my skin crawl. I agree it's not very inspiring. The two things that have gained the most traction with the fan base are the previously mentioned raising of the imaginary swords and the crying of "HAVOC!" by the fans. Neither of these happened because of some promotion. They were just great ideas that the fans recognized as such and started doing along with the band and PA announcer (as to HAVOC!, I've noticed the PA announcer no longer says it, the crowd has taken over). Tings that catch on in this manner are the things that will stick. That said, I'm in favor of a song. It needs to be played at the same time each game i.e. between Qtr 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 and it doesn't need completion. By that, I mean the constant blasting of various music every time there is the slightest break in the action has to stop, otherwise, nobody will ever know we are playing the same song at the same time every game. The Sound needs to refrain from playing at that time and the money grab or Half Shell Oyster Shuffle, or Joe's Pool Hall Sumo Rassin' need to be done some other time as well. Until this happens, Nothing will catch on. Wisconsin doesn't have a money grab during "Jump", Pittsburg doesn't have a band playing during "Renegade" and if we want something similar at Troy, we need to follow suit.

If I’m not mistaken Arkansas state designed the student section to get very close to the opposing teams bench! I never went to MTSU And he said that was the most difficult place to play for him! The student section is behind the visitor’s bench, from the fifty to the beginning of the band section and you’re right, they make an impact. I watch them lean over the rail for an entire game screaming at our opponent. Moving the visitors to the upper deck would allow other Troy fans the opportunity to do the same on the north side of the 50, making the entire 100 yd sideline an unfriendly place.
