For what its worth (and I predict it is worth very little), I emailed the AD and suggested perhaps a section could be created for fans who want to stand and cheer and get loud. Name it something like 'The Screamin' Legion', etc. He replied back very quickly that they would discuss it at their post-season meeting and that he liked new ideas. The fact that he replied at all impressed me.
I would love a place in the Vet where we could really let loose and encourage the other fans to do the same. Make The Vet Loud Again.

I got on a plane at the Mobile airport on Christmas Day some years back after we had just taken Ohio's lunch money over in Sadd-People's Stadium. Y'all aren't going to like this, but the Ohio team was on the plane with me and they were dressed nicely. It appears, you can dress nicely or poorly and win or lose. It's almost like we're not really complaining about dress codes and really just complaining about the losing. Which is fine, but just call it what it is.

Good grief. You guys are hard to watch. Troy compared to a team that hasn't sniffed consistent success in decades. In the words of famous TKE brother Aaron Rodgers, "Relax."

The GameDay story about his return showed that this guy is an absolute warrior. Not sure he has the same mobility (I would have 0 mobility after that kind of injury) but he is absolutely the kind of leader you want in your locker room.

What an awesome story! Would love to see a statue in his honor inside the Vet.

Well deserved. One of the best Trojans to ever do it.

I guess you didn't really answer my question, troystet. Would you rather the team go 6-6 and play in a bowl game or lose out and make the case against (The HC we don’t speak of) worse?

Excellent post Mr. E. The fact is that (The HC we don’t speak of) isn't going anywhere this season and I'm not really sure they'll lean on him to ditch parts of his staff in the offseason. My feeling is that the calculus will be: here is year 3, earn it or find the door. The interesting part will be how the fanbase reacts. Are people willing to root for the team even if it means that the team's success means (The HC we don’t speak of) might remain?

I think we all agree that (The HC we don’t speak of) isn't going anywhere this season. I'm still hopeful we can #BeatSouth and #BeatULM on Senior Day and give ourselves a shot at playing late in December. Anyone else or is the general mood that the season is lost regardless of how we perform in those two games?

Regarding cheering - energy in the stadium - start watching the below at about 7:21 until the score. The camera is literally shaking, the White Towels flying. That is what I hope to see in The Vet again one day. Outside of Mizzou possibly, best game ever (both teams played very well) at The Vet. Right. But we can do that any time. It's our choice. It's "our house". If even half the stadium made noise, even if only when the defense is on the field (and our players are signaling for us to do so), offenses like EKU wouldn't stand a chance on 3rd and long. Instead, it's me and a handful of others making any noise at all during the first three quarters and a smattering joining in the fourth. Do you know how many times I've had other "fans" ask me to please sit down and be quiet? This community wants to talk about "we've quit"? You're right. In many instances, this fan base has been quitting for years. And yes, I understand you'll get more noise when the team is being successful. But that's also the definition of bandwagon fandom. We used to mock that school in Birmingham for that. CLB once said "If you're a Trojan be a Trojan." CNB once asked if "We fight is something we mean or just something we put on a tshirt." They weren't just talking to the players.

Watching Troy football is on the top five list of joys in my life. I hate when we lose. Hate it. But as I grow a little older, I find myself still smiling as I leave the Vet, regardless of the outcome. Changes will come and Troy will return to our place atop the Belt. Until then, I'll be in Section 116 smiling. And cheering (you know, the thing 95% of our stadium refuses to do and then runs home to complain that the players aren't doing).

That's what I took away from Coach's coachspeak as well. "He's not 100% but we'll see how he does in practice." usually translates to "We want the other guys to have to watch tape on both."

I'm excited to see us play regardless, but I think it would help our cause greatly if Watson was back at #1.

I was rooting for Jon to get the job as well, but it's very hard to compare any team or coach to any other during this season. I love seeing the MACtion during the week but their whole set-up for this season is just a write-off in terms of comparisons.

The indication is that Gunnar will play Saturday. As much as I enjoyed Free's first full game at QB, the second left much to be desired. Perhaps Gunnar will return focused on cementing that starting job. Either way, Troy playing football on Saturday always sounds awesome to me.

There are days I want to pry a little bit under the surface of these "Troy is woke" complaints but I'm afraid if I did I'd be fairly disappointed.

Perhaps the team in Mobile is doing something right re: COVID. Of the 5 Alabama FBS squads scheduled to play tomorrow, they are the only ones with a game still on track to kick off.

I'm fairly confident this was at the o-line position. Makes the most sense and it's the least feasible vacancy to make up for.

Coastal 42, Men of Troy 21...and a very sad TrojanTKE. Although with MTSU, ULM, and South still on the docket, no reason to believe we won't be playing in Montgomery come Christmas time. Yeah, we will be 7-5 with all seven wins against losing records Never seen them ask which games you won when deciding bowl invites, just that you won them. Being held out of a bowl two years in a row would be a bad look for recruiting purposes, even if we only end up playing thirty minutes up the road.
