Actually Ocala should be South Florida now. We can give Orlando to Puerto Rico, The Disney- I Drive sections to Brazil and The UK (The vast Majority of who is there), Tampa-St.Pete can belong to NY and Michigan, And South Of There can be split between Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic, Haiti and New York Don't forget the Cubans settled Ybor City in Tampa eons ago, rolled cigars and invented Cuban sandwiches. Lot's of food for a thread. When visiting my niece in the VA hospital there a few years back ... my wife found an amazing Cuban bakery!!

Thought I noticed another player on Twitter last week announcing "signing" with Troy ... but can't find it now. Coach Bam was tagged. He was a tall/long DE type. Maybe a PWO?

Let's see, we could start threads as follows: 1) Football uniforms 2) A nostalgia thread for troystet and doc to reminisce ad nauseum about the glory days of Troy State football and how we used to do it. 3) Tailgate Terrace, how it has devolved into one of the worst access, least desirable tailgate locations. 3) Men's basketball and the $50mill arena 4) Women's basketball and the $50mil arena. 5) The City of Troy, Alabama, and a) The worst supporting locals in NCAA Athletics or b) The worst destination city in NCAA Athletics or c) The best small town NCAA destination for weekend forays to Panama City. 6) Sodexo and concession stands, that one's always good for a page or two of posts. 7) Ho's legendary, mythical story of what's his name who blocked all those punts. Haven't read that one in a few weeks. 8) What's his name and what Troy Athletics needs to be doing more/less of. 9) Legion Field and Ladd-Peebles memories... 10) SBC Officials 11) Why all of 'Barn's football players are bailing?? 12) Hotel/Motel policy on Football Game weekends in Troy. 13) Crowe's Fried Chicken, Then and Now! Ok so , there's lots to talk about. How about adding the topic ... HOF on 13th and T-day on 20th (and letterwinner deal on 20th).

We could also talk about Rooks Pizza, The Western Sizzler and The Double Delight hot dogs for no extra charge 😁 We had some good days. And I really can't remember how different Crowes was ... I didn't like it much when I went back last year. And, yes ... Rooks was good ... especially when they had an All you can eat night!!!

Great memories. For me... Troy was Only offer I had! (I guess if they had star ratings... I would’ve been a -4 or -5!!! The total package... small, weak, and slow!😉) But coming to Troy literally saved my life... and changed it forever

I can imagine each player has a many factors they consider: school, environment, relationship to coaches, location, amenities, facilities, fit, etc. So, if a player has city/amenities high on their list ... we might struggle to get them. But, for those who have other things higher ... I think we'll do just fine.
I agree with Ho. It's kind of "apples/Oranges". Troy obviously can't compete with Mobile or B'ham (or GA ST/ATL) ... if a main thing a recruit is looking for is "City Life" and lot's of extra amenities.
I read quote from Reddy Steward, our highest rated recruit, he mentioned that the "small-town" feel was a big draw for him. He said he's a quiet kind of guy ... and it felt really good. So, with him, it seems UAB/USA were hurt by where they are.
I think as long as we're competitive with facilities (football and on-campus stuff ... the rec center is a big deal I think!) ... we'll get our share of players! And, if we continue to develop and graduate those players ... and we win and give players opportunity to play at the next level ... we'll be fine!

Wide Receivers 6'0 and over, current roster included: 6'5 - Reggie Todd 6'4 - Khalil McClain 6'4 - Jaden Warren 6'4 - Richard Hallman 6'3 - Demontrez Brown 6'2 - Luke Whittemore 6'2 - Chris Robinson 6'2 - Johnathan Ortner 6'1 - Daniel Crowell 6'1 - Tre Eafford Tight Ends 6'0 and over, current roster included: 6'5 - Trey Coryell 6'4 - Tre Ross 6'3 - A.J. Lewis 6'2 - Sam Letton Running Backs 6'0 and over, current roster included: 6'1 - Charles Strong 6'0 - Trevon Woolfolk Quarterbacks 6'0 and over, current roster included: 6'5 - Jacob Free 6'3 - Sawyer Smith 6'3 - Gunnar Watson 6'3 - Kade Young 6'2 - Gavin Screws 6'1 - Kaleb Barker Really excited to see the big WRs and TEs ... that kind of height is tough for DBs to handle, even when they have good coverage. In addition to the new guys, the coaches were real high on Brown last year. He is a MAN! And, of course ... with this kind of size ... should be good blockers outside to spring the "speed" guys. Actually didn't realize Eaford was over 6 foot. He is electric!! If we can keep him healthy he'll be tough to stop! And, I think Letton, Lewis, Ross can be a real handful ... especially if we can get the isolated on some LBs!! Anyway ... was just putting Spring practice days into my calendar ... fired up!!

Please leave your loin cloth at the door all ye who enter... Signed: WR Jaden Warren. Excited about this guy. 6'4" downfield threat. 3-Star ATH. OLB Javon Solomon. Offers from top G5 schools Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, and UAB. WR Kaylon Geiger. Lead all of JUCO in receptions. Had 954 yards. Unblockable slot receiver. 4.45 speed. Offer from Missouri out of high school. 3-Star WR in 2017. No 2019 profile yet. The tape on all these guys look great! Solomon looks like one of those guys that might be considered "undersized" ... but with a motor that just won't stop! We've had pretty good success with guys like that! With Geiger and Warren ... along with the other early signees ... and the guys we have returning ... we should have lots of options on the outside and downfield. And, with McClain, Todd, Brown, Warren ... and add the TEs ... we'll have several guys at 6'3" or better! Tough for DBs to handle that kind of size!! Fire up ... Go Trojans!

Unlikely he's a grad transfer, so he'd have to sit out a year. Agreed. Just wonder if there's any "hardship" type appeal he's made? Looked at that Transfer Portal ... that is a pretty significant deal.

So far: Offensive Coordinator - Ryan Pugh QB - Cole Weeks (guessing here) WR (Inside) - John Carr WR (Outside) - Cornelius Williams RB - ? ? ? TE - Brian Blackmon (guessing again) OL - Ryan Pugh Defensive Coordinator - Brandon Hall Cornerbacks - ? ? ? S - Brandon Hall (I think, someone check me on that) OLB / Spear - Andrew Warwick ILB / BAN - Bam Hardman DT / DE - Davern Williams Special Teams Coordinator - Brian Blackmon S&C: SaJason Finley Someone had mentioned another coach from Akron coming? Also, what about Shane Wasden? Blackmon is likely coaching RBs. Yeah ... if we keep offense/defense equal (5 each) ... the last on field spot will be defensive coach. So maybe a CB coach?

Sawyer is without a doubt to tough kid and solid QB/Athlete. I had chance to watch a few Spring sessions last year. The difference between Sawyer and Kaleb is passing consistency. I mentioned then, Kaleb really "spins" it ... not matter the weather (rain, wind, etc) he consistently gets the ball where he wants it to be. Sawyer is plenty strong ... but has a bit of a push in his technique. So, every few balls "flutters" a bit ... especially into the wind. You could see ... he'd throw a couple really nice long balls ... then there'd be a couple that would come up short. Sometimes the WR could adjust and come back to the ball (Whittemore twice at GA Sou for instance) ... but other times not (like the play in the bowl where Willis was a couple yards behind the defender and had to come back for ball ... everyone yelled for interference, but Willis had to go through the defender to get to the ball) So, unless he changes his technique and improves the consistency ... just don't see how he beats out a healthy Kaleb. Haven't seen Fee or Screws in person ... but if you watched the scrimmages/practices ... Kaleb I think was pretty clearly the #1 QB heading into the season. Just my opinion of course. But I can't wait to see the competition. As someone wrote before ... lot's of schools in the country would love to have this "problem"!!

I too like the staff. God mixture: experience/folks he's worked with, some Troy guys that are quality coaches, and the theme is young and hungry I think! Can't wait to see them work with the team.

Can we design a 3 QB backfield? We can go with the old Notre Dame box!
