We will just have to agree to disagree. This was my #1 wish of a bowl.

I think most of you will be pleasantly surprised by the exposure and talk of Troy in NOLA. Bottom line is that wins get you ranked. Not ratings or exposure. I think many of you put way too much emphasis on all that.
As far as players, they will certainly be on Bourbon Street at some point. And I know we fans will. It's the best bowl we've ever played in. I love it.

Why should I care who watches?

I'm not sure what you mean. Of course I do. But the ratings for our bowl game mean nothing to me. I want the best destination for our team and our fans. Exposure, etc. Will take care of itself if we win any bowl. That is way down on the list.

I really don't care about ratings. No one watches the bowls, anyway.

If this is true, it's early Christmas for me. Best bowl destination by far! Go Trojans!

You guys are out of your ever-lovin' minds! LB's recruits? Are you serious?! Of the starters on offense, 3 were part of a recruiting class before Neal Brown--Silvers, Chunn, and Thompson. Coach Brown brought our program back from the ashes! We are 7-2 and going bowling...again! We are in contention to win the Belt...again. It's a great time to be a Troy Trojan!

Is there any replay of Neal on Finebaum? I found an archive of it on the Watch ESPN app. It was awesome.

No, their ranking is for the season, not the team. In other words, they believe we had the 20th best season. I think when comparing the expectations before the year and what we accomplished, it's just right.

That loss by A-State is huge! Huge for a possible co-championship if we win out. Huge for recruiting. Huge for seniors to get a ring!

I'll be there. No matter the day or place! However, I do hope it provides our fans another opportunity to travel to a place to enjoy the experience.

Well, it's likely that there is just one person ranking us in each poll. With 6 points, some person is most likely ranking us 19th. The reality is we will have to do what we are doing for a long time to get ranked. And we will have to blow people away more in all likelihood. It's just where we are right now. But I'm proud to be getting votes!

The crowd was dead most of the game. You could hear crickets on 3rd down. We need a cheerleader or at least a PA who teaches the crowd how and when the cheer. I loved the old guy. This guy is terrible.

Coach Wasden retiring. Per FB, his daughter indicated this would be his final game coaching before retiring. Wow.

I don't have an issue with the move. However, we have to grow up as a program, eventually. Most other schools have boards where recruiting info is freely shared. If recruits let something as silly as comments on a message board sway them, then most likely they either weren't serious about us or are the kind of athlete that might not stay happy long. Just saying. But again, I'm good with it either way.

Personally, I would rather see the Trojans win 88-0 every week against every team! But that doesn't affect a rivalry one bit, in my opinion. Doesn't have to be even to have a rivalry. And btw, I've seen over 200 South fans here, already! Go Trojans!

Trojans1andAll, I certainly respect your opinion. However, it is obvious that the excitement and passion for this game, this rivalry, and the trophy is very high. I don't expect everyone to like it--we each have our own opinions. However, I'm not sure why you remain so pessimistic in the face of obvious energy surrounding the game. Only 200 fans from South? Seriously? That's crazy. I've been around this program a long time and I believe this game, the trophy, and the potential of this rivalry is excellent for our program and our University. I don't expect you or anyone to get behind it if you don't like it, but it would be awesome if you and everyone else who isn't for this would just sit back and see what happens. I think you may be surprised. Go Trojans!

I'll have to say that I'm a bit surprised by all the negativity and complaining. I suppose I shouldn't be. I was the lone alumni representative when we created the Battle for the Palladium during a meeting with some Troy students, MTSU students, and MTSU alumni. There were haters then, too. But it grew and became something special. I think the Belt has the same potential. Ultimately, I believe it helps Troy. Marketing is huge and students came up with this, so it must appeal to them. Glad for it! And being a wrestling fan when I was young, I love it! Go Trojans! Win the belt!

I agree the atmosphere and buzz was awesome. However I will disagree strongly and say that the new PA guy was terrible. I for one really liked that the previous guy got the crowd involved. That was missed by many in my section Saturday.

The NCAA doesn't regulate season ticket sales. FBS schools are supposed to average at least 15,000 in attendance. We have been comfortably above that number every year since 1998 with the exception of 2002.
I would expect season ticket sales to be up a bit this year with a new and exciting coach.

I'll admit that I haven't given much thought to it, but I really like Farmer. I liked him a lot while he was at Troy and I've been very impressed with what he's done in LA.

Actually, Clemson is technically bigger because of the school. The only town smaller is West Point, NY where Army is located, I believe.

I don't have a problem with it. The reality is we are in the 2nd smallest town in the Nation with an FBS football team. There is nothing wrong with promoting the small community with big time athletics and making it clear we don't have the resources of bigger schools. It's just who we are. Let's embrace it and shock the world. We aren't fooling anybody by not talking about it. If Dr. Hawkins is anything, he's a brilliant marketer. He knows exactly what he's doing.
