I know we need a new locker room. I just get sick of it being used for an excuse to why we can't win or recruit. The fact is we got beat by a team with a 8,000 seat stadium, I'm sure a locker room no better than us and a box truck to haul their gear . Maybe if Troy put in half as much effort recruiting the hotbeds of Florida, Georgia, Texas and other places as they do complaining about facilities and recruiting Itawamba JC maybe this would be a non issue Barry McKnight painted a great radio picture this morning. Let's say we have a hotshot quarterback visiting the Troy campus. For the sake of argument let's say he is from Florida and spends a lot time with his grandparents in Georgia and Texas. There isn't enough room in the coach's office for his family to come in and sit down. The stadium isn't as nice as places he's played as a HS qb and the cup someone gave him a Coke in smells funny. What about Troy right now makes a kid want to come here and play? Three words: The Front Porch

What do you think the football players have been doing..? Weight room and practice everyday, study film, digest the play book... I can promise you the band kids have nothing physically or emotionaly challenging that can compare to our guys. If you claim to be all about Troy then keep it that way. When you see our guys struggling then reach out with your support don't bash them. They are out there doing something 99% of the marching band couldn't even dream of attempting. When did i bash anyone?

Can we end this stupid argument.... The SOTS is pretty swell. This year, the football team is not. Majority of the fans go to watch the game, with a smaller portion there to watch the halftime performance. Both have their strengths and their flaws. I think we can solve this issue by letting the football team run out first and then high five the band members as they enter the field for pregame then the entire stadium can sing the alma mater and fight somg before kickoff That would take winning or losing out of the equation No, because then folks would say "In five years, that is the first time we have done that..." and chastise the players who choose to take part in it. #StandingWithTyler

Hemi is a Pirates fan, and The Dream loves the Oakland Raiders. We know how to deal with bad teams (It requires a 12 oz. Coca-cola and large bottle of brown water). If anyone needs assistance during this troubling time, feel free to contact us.

All of this banter will be forgotten after the TMTDM rises from the ashes on Saturday in Athens.
Pruitt will dance out of sacks, find receivers running free and put points on the board. The Law Firm of Burks, Chunn and Franklin will run roughshod threw the UGA defense.
Mark Wilson will pop Gurley in the mouth on the first play of the game, and Gurley will tell Mark Richt that he doesn't want to play anymore.
Troy wins 27-24 as Ryan Kay booms a 52-yard field goal as time expires.
Why? Because why not. We have hit rock bottom and the only way to go from here is up.
Feel free to drink the Kool-Aid with me.

I know a Troy supporter that became a Trojan fan because a player took time out of his routine to personally extend an offering of appreciation to him and his family. (and no, it is not The Dream)
Tyler Parker may or may not have done the same Saturday night. Troy athletics may have a new life-long fan or it may not. We all don't agree with what he did, but his heart is in the right spot. That my friends I can guarantee.

Doug4Troy is my favorite poster ever. Except for that Baywatch one I used to have. When I was nine years old, I dropped a hard earned four bucks on a Lamborghini poster at the Elba Elementary School Book Fair. That poster still hangs on the wall of The Dream's vacation home in northern Coffee County.

Maybe he gave up on his grammar class?? Is that English? I can personally vouch for John Johnson. The kid is a class act on and off the field. You sir, are just looking for negatives.

Answer: a cluster ****
Question: What is the current state of the Troy football program, including administration, coaches, players, fans and the Troyfans.com message board?

"Stand up for what you believe in, even if that means standing alone." Tyler Parker did just that, and I have the utmost respect for him. So your saying you have respect for someone who turned his back on his team and showed a lack of discipline? Oh. Okay. That's most definitely the type of people that we should have on a TEAM. Parker turned his back on his team? What about the dozen or so players that ran straight to the locker room rather than going out to shake the hands of the FCS team that kicked their tail. I have much more respect for a person that has the guts to take a loss like a man, shake the better team's hand and thank the spectators and band for supporting him and his team. Tyler Parker did not turn his back on Troy, but it appears that a portion of the Trojan fan base has turned their back on him.

That band certainly can't be the correct way to do things because I have seen several members with long hair, and if I am not mistaken, the SOTS plays a rap/hip hop medley. They are part of the discipline issue!!! Yes, your right my daughter and most every girl in the band has long hair. And when they all get every penny of their education covered like the football team does and Dr. Walker says everybody will have short hair you will see 340 short haircuts including my child. Why?? To quote one of your rivals, Dream " Because Dr. Walker said so, And That's The Bottom Line" First of all, Stunning Steve couldn't lace up The Dream's boots. Second, look again at the band. Under those shining chrome helmets, you will see quite a few long-haired fellas. We can all throw jabs at each other, but lets all remember that we are all on the same side.

Alright people of the Troy message boards, this is coming from someone that spent 4 years as a member of the sound of the south, and is now a proud alumni, I get that the band wants recognition for all the hard work and effort that they put into game days. They are long, grueling days, and not getting a win doesn't make that any easier. With all that being said, I think that what Tyler Parker did was wrong. I do not agree with him going to clap along with the band, to me that was him turning his back on his team and separating himself. He showed absolutely no discipline and turned his back on his teammates when they needed support the most, could someone please tell me how that makes him a class act? Also, I have stayed all 4 quarters of every Troy game I've been too for the past 6 years, and I don't expect those boys to acknowledge me after they lose, why does the band feel like they need to be acknowledged after this loss when the football team has NEVER gone to sing the fight song with the band after a loss. Also as a gf of a football player, I'm lucky to get a hug after the games when we lose, but you don't hear me on the message boards complaining about that. Your opinion has been noted. It has also been noted that it is erroneous.

Tuscaloosa has Gallettes, Auburn as SkyBar and in Troy you have the beloved Front Porch. They have seen generations of students toast victories, soak up losses and get in to mischief. They have been around for years, and I for one hope they never go away.

I can vouch for this. The Dream hung around campus long enough and Troy eventually let him have a degree. I heard the degree was in Mixology B.S. in mixology, M.S. in Booty Dome Etiquette and Doctorate dissertation was written entitled "How to stiff your friends on beer: a study of getting buzzed on a budget."
