Alright people of the Troy message boards, this is coming from someone that spent 4 years as a member of the sound of the south, and is now a proud alumni,
I get that the band wants recognition for all the hard work and effort that they put into game days. They are long, grueling days, and not getting a win doesn't make that any easier. With all that being said, I think that what Tyler Parker did was wrong. I do not agree with him going to clap along with the band, to me that was him turning his back on his team and separating himself. He showed absolutely no discipline and turned his back on his teammates when they needed support the most, could someone please tell me how that makes him a class act? Also, I have stayed all 4 quarters of every Troy game I've been too for the past 6 years, and I don't expect those boys to acknowledge me after they lose, why does the band feel like they need to be acknowledged after this loss when the football team has NEVER gone to sing the fight song with the band after a loss. Also as a gf of a football player, I'm lucky to get a hug after the games when we lose, but you don't hear me on the message boards complaining about that.

It has also been noted that it is erroneous.

Well said trojangirl! He drew attention to himself and may or may not have broken a team rule - do we know yet how or even if the players are given guidance on how to conduct themselves after the game?
There would be WAY more "How can they be over there celebrating after getting beat by an FCS school??? They need to go practice some more with their helmets on!" if more had gone over there.

To my knowledge, no one from the band has posted that they needed acknowledgement on this board. If there are no fans, cheer leaders, or band-members in the stands each game, would that be noticed by the players?

I firmly believe the attention he is getting was not done on purpose and he didn't foresee it. HOWEVER, by going across the field away from his team to the band, he drew attention to himself.

Your boy friend get you to write that message? As a band member yes. The days are hard and intense. We work just as hard as they do. But WE ARE TROJANS ONE AND ALL!!!! We are all apart of the Trojan family. We are here to support one another. I have mad respect for #31. He at least recognizes that part. Yeah, ok, we lost and he was "suppose" to go to the locker rooms after the game. I'm "suppose" to do a lot of things in the band. I have talked to EVERYONE in the band. They all love what #31 did. We had a long day and he showed his respects to us. We still have to cheer for them even if they lose!!!!

Also celebrating by drawing attention to yourself can also get a flag.

"Stand up for what you believe in, even if that means standing alone."
Tyler Parker did just that, and I have the utmost respect for him.
