Hemi is a Pirates fan, and The Dream loves the Oakland Raiders. We know how to deal with bad teams (It requires a 12 oz. Coca-cola and large bottle of brown water). If anyone needs assistance during this troubling time, feel free to contact us. I need monetary assistance, I already know the secret formula

So when does a regular student get to sing the fight song? What do they do that they can win at? Sent from my XT907 using proboards Regular students sing along every time the fight song is played and if they stay for post game, they can sing both the fight song and alma mater.

I'm just as big of a football person as anyone, and before the fame, focus, great. After? Take two minutes to acknowledge the people that watched you, win or lose.
I never had an ego that needed to be stroked when I marched. I don't have one as a teacher, but it is nice to be told good job.

I guess my biggest question is why do some of you feel that they don't deserve recognition by the team at the end of every game? Or is it the fact that the kid didn't go to the locker room straight away?

They close their post game performance with the alma mater. There are several hundred who stay around to hear this performance after the scoreboard is turned off and the football team has left the field. The SOTS are the first to get started every gameday and the last to finish. Aren't players long gone by the time the SOTS post game performance is over? Several hundred may stay for that, but the several thousand who came to see a football game and appreciated the band are long gone. 1 half or more of the crowd is gone after half time after watching a crappy game. What's your point?

Still not a huge fan of the show but everything looked pretty good from field level

The author is a wonderful person that I have known for years. She is showing her thanks for something that hasn't happened before. Since Troy has been DI have we lost to a FCS team? At the lowest point in recent history, what else can someone do but sin their fight song? What harm did the man do? If he broke the rules, so what? If he's undisciplined, so what? We're not winning anyway and his gesture has given 300+ students something to cheer for. Just my .02 Does that apply to all rules and all players? What if one chooses to to break a curfew to win over some fans at the Front Porch? Assuming the player isn't breaking a law, can they just break team rules they want to? Of course, to my knowledge we still don't know if this is an actual team rule or just "the way it is" on the team. You're acting as if this is an on the field issue. The guy ran over to HIS band to sing HIS fight song. He wasn't late to the locker room for mettings, he didn't break a law, and for all we know, he didn't break a rule.

By the authors own a admission it was the first time it happened in her four years? Maybe that means it was the wrong thing to do? I think I'll have a beer. Good God this has turned into something it shouldn't have been. Whether or not the kid broke the rules, he made more people happy than angry

Haven't you pointed out that sales are down anyway? I will buy tickets for the SOTS and if I could afford it, a box. Well buy away? Because you buy a ticket just to see the band, you're going to demand that everyone show them the respect you think they deserve? I'm well aware of how hard they work. I saw them at 8:45 yesterday morning. I think I'll have a beer. I will buy because it's my alma mater. I will buy to see SOTS but if I was Joe blow on the road? I would NOT buy to watch Troy lose and that's all we've done recently.

And there are band events without the football team. Every program has fans that are there to see the band and that's it... Troy isn't the only program. Yea, let me know how many suites, stadium club seats, and season tickets you sale for a band competition. I think I'll have a beer. Haven't you pointed out that sales are down anyway? I will buy tickets for the SOTS and if I could afford it, a box.

If there wasn't a football game wouldn't it just be called band practice? I'm not disrespecting the band at all but if weren't for the football game the band wouldn't be there. There have been football games without the band. I think I'll have a beer. Then why shouldn't the team come and thank the people that are out there because of and for them?

This isn't a Sound Of The Wiregrass Forum. He should have had his rear end in the locker room. His actions show that their is loss of control with the coaches. He obviously wasn't afraid of being disciplined. Go with your team #31 Do us all a favor, if you don't like it, leave the thread. K, bye!

As a former member of SOTS, I wanted the team to come celebrate, no matter the outcome. We had to start practice at 9 or earlier, warm up at 2, Trojan Walk at 3:30 then cheer on the team no matter how good they did and then we got no recognition....it really made me wonder if the team cared if we were there or not.

Any reason we gave up on silvers? Pruitt has not been effective. Silvers is out with an injury above the neck according to the announcers on ESPN. Will not return. Is that who got carried off by stretcher? I missed it
