Interesting that right out of the gate you mock those that might have graduated Troy with a degree in education. Likely that speaks more about you than it does those you are trying to belittle. To answer, your question I didn't not graduate Troy with any of those degrees. Basketball Arena is nice. This is a football forum. We have a basketball forum. There needs to be a constant elevating of facilities in athletics at Troy. We have additional money for salaries, but if we build that surplus up the pool of candidates gets deeper. First choice would have came if he received what he asked for. Wouldn't expect someone to be 100% committed that isn't getting what they are worth. I'm hate that you are the type of person that gets their feelings hurt on a message board. It's ok thought it's only he internet. I think I'll have a beer. Man, you sure can take people posts and just make up totally different things from what they post. I mocked nobody. I said it was a noble profession !! Your statement concerning not supporting the education side of this great institute of higher learning with your money speaks volumes. But it is you money so cool. You brought the people in charge of funding and the spending in the athletic department. I proves your point wrong about these people not spending on athletics. Who said anyone's feelings are hurt ? You say that often like people will take offense. Keep calm guy it will be ok. Please fill me in on those volumes it speaks about me not giving to academics? Are you related to Lego? I think I'll have a beer.

You packed a whole lot of assumptions and out and out misrepresentations in that response. I understand if you didn't graduate Troy in accounting or finance it's hard to grasp. Education degree maybe ? Probably not because you don't want any of your money funding the school You always seem to respond to people commenting on the worst possible scenarios. (i.e. JH leaving to Ga St. Or Troy has no money, we are in the verge of collapse). But I will help ya: Of course, every Athletic program need more funding. Every year. Those in charge of the funding understand the need for additional funds in athletics (football) in the near future. HECK they just built the best basketball arena in the Sunbelt !! Basketball is athletics. Anyone disagree ? But again, do we have the money to build an endzone complex ? NO. Do we have money right now to pay additional salary ? YES. The 1st choice DC was not 100% committed anyway. Just keep calm folks I have no idea what degree Hemi graduated with, or if he graduated from Troy at all. What I do know is that nobody is more invested in Troy than Hemi and his family. I would venture to say that his family contributes a higher percentage of their family budget, more time, more energy and more passion to Troy athletics than pretty much anyone. I think that, and the fact that he is involved in everything the Trojans do, qualifies him to give an expert opinion. He has a better grasp than you for sure!

But I respect you defending your friend, although I guess he has no issues voicing his own defense.

I think that, and the fact that he is involved in everything the Trojans do, qualifies him to give an expert opinion. He has a better grasp than you for sure! I absolutely agree that Hemi goes above and beyond almost any Troy fan, and he does this with having no alumni ties to Troy. However, just make sure not to discredit other Troy supporters because they don't live in close proximity to Troy or who can't attend every away game because of work, family or travel logistics. I might be able to say of myself that most fans don't travel 12 hours round trip to attend every Troy home game, but I don't because it doesn't make me any more special than the fan who travels 12 minutes. I wish that I lived closer where I could take in mid week basketball games and baseball/softball games but logistically that is impossible as is almost every Troy road game. Hemi is a true, dedicated fan and I both admire and appreciate his dedication, support and loyalty as I do with several of you here I have had the pleasure of meeting. All I ask is that we don't make any fan feel less important because they might live in Central Florida, Tennessee or wherever. It's hard enough sometimes for those of us so far away to feel involved and/or in the loop. I know when I come up for games, I have my daughter in the band, the few teammates I have that come to the games and others I have met through T-Club like Redwaver, but for the most part you can feel isolated and not a part of things, especially if ones spouse or kids can't make the trip. I really appreciated Hemi calling me about a month ago to fill me in on things and to encourage me to try to get the alumni in my area involved ( which I do). Please remember guys and gals, we are Troy fans and supporters, some to a different degree than others but lets all remember and respect each and every fan, their support, views and time. Go Troy and hope to see the few here that I know Sat.

A little girl in a musical my wife drug me to said that the sun will come up Tommorrow and she was a poor orphan. It's all good in Troy land, even if we all don't agree on everything. Still better than being a Bama, Barn, Nole, Gator or...gasp !!! a Jax St. Fan.

You asseted the notion that since Hemi is not an accounting or finance major he couldn't understand the financial situation in the athletic department. I assert that because of his involvement, not how much he gives, he has a better grasp than you!

Had a fellow poster here. ( and hope he chimes in in case I don't explain this right) that the main reason Troy doesn't have more money for salaries etc. Is that the university has to guarantee every scholarship it gives. Where other schools cover this with donor money Troy has been unable to secure the big donors. So money that could be spent has to be spent covering scholarships. I hope I said that right. Chime in old timer to better explain Yep, as I understood it, Troy funds all scholarships when many other universities have donors that do that allowing them (other universities) to have more available revenue for other line items ie salaries, etc.!

As a matter of fact, I used them as an example to a fellow Troy graduate who never supports his university. Told him I knew a fellow he could learn a little school spirit and commitment from!

Whoa I missed a lot in a little bit of time. Thanks for the kind words from some of you.
Saint, it's all good. I get the feeling that you think Troy has plenty of money to reach the next level. If that were the case money games would be a thing of the past. If we have extra $250,000 in the pot to throw at the next coaching staff, how much better would it be to have an extra $500,000?
Some say that I'm complacent with where Troy is right now. That couldn't be further from the truth. However, I can't really change the outcome of Saturday's game or the game in Idaho. What I can do is continue to do my part as a Warrior, and do everything within my ability to grow the Warrior program. When giving time, money, or both we are giving to the future of Troy athletics.
Brighter days are ahead for the Trojan Nation. John Hartwell is too good at what he does for Troy to stay down.
I think I'll have a beer.
