I'll continue to support my alma mater but it doesn't mean it aggravates the p#$$ out of me that these guys bail first chance they get. No loyalty at all I certainly don't know about your business but in ours, a revolving door is more the norm nowadays. Not just football Coaches. Aggravates the H#ll out of corn as well but we adapt if we are to survive the challenges successfully. It's not just football. No loyalty in anything anymore

Don't give a durn what anyone else thinks. You have your right to it. So do I. I'm still pissed. I believed him when he said, not too much longer than some hours ago, that he and his family loved Troy and indicated he was staying put. THAT is what doesn't sit well with me. You can say NOTHING. Silence IS an option! Or you can say something without giving false hope. Lots of coaches have done that. This was not that. This was hot one minute, cold the next; that feels like a betrayal. He doesn't need my support. He's got millions. He gets paid to get my pissed off opinion tossed in his face. I'm not loyal to Jon Sumrall, especially given how he left. I'm loyal to Troy.
And I have to suspect in reading between the lines that the inside baseball would show ADBJ feels similarly. They'll of course give all the platitudes for the public but let's not forget what's been reported: as soon as he knew Jon was leaving he immediately put Gas in charge and coach was cleaning out his desk. He stayed and finished at KY. Other coaches stay and coach their bowl games before moving. As beloved, successful and supported as Sumrall was, you'd think we'd give him the option. Doesn't appear we gave it a seconds thought and Gas was given the keys. And I'm not alone. There's a LOT of people who think this went down in a completely tacky way that we would've thought was beneath JS. Well, apparently it wasn't. Money talks with coach speak laying cover and integrity walks. I'm pissed. And more than a little sad about it all. It's a permanent stain on a beautiful two years and I hate that it went that way.

Coach sumrall gave Tulane a number he didn’t think they would pay. When they said sure he went to Troy to see what they could do. I know it wasn’t $2.5 million. He would have stayed for that but a $300k bump wasn’t worth it. Until the alumni stop supporting those schools that didn’t support them and Troy can get medical school or engineering school type money Troy will never be able to compete. It’s a shame that former football players for Troy have season tickets for the schools who didn’t want them to play. They won’t support the school that recruited them is mind boggling. I have daughters at both of those schools and I don’t support them at Troy’s expense.

You couldn’t be more wrong but not arguing on the internet today That Mayflower heading out of town disagree Dude. Let's put this in some perspective. 1.2 million at Troy or an alleged 4.5 million at Tulane. That's 3.75 times his current salary. I'm sorry, I would have taken it too. I bet there are very few of us that wouldn't have.

Several have made the point that most any of us would leave our jobs if offered 3x the pay. That’s not the right analogy.
Would you leave your job in a (seemingly) shady way for 3x the pay at a sub-par company, or wait a year and leave for 4x the pay at a world-class company, and do it with honor and respect to those you have worked for?
Perhaps it will be revealed that he did leave with honor and respect. I hope so.
Tulane wasn’t a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Jon. I think we all just expected better.

I’ll judge HCJS on the number of players he takes to Tulane. If that number is Zero then i’ll root hard for the man and respect his decision to better his families life..If he poaches it will show a level of disloyalty to a program and administration that helped build his career.I hope Billy Napier never wins at Florida for betraying Louisiana like that.
I would be shocked if HCJS crosses that line.
HCJS took a chance and didn’t follow HCNB to WV.He bet on himself and that bet and hard work paid off with no guarantees.I fully expect no poaching just like HCNB.They left respecting where they had been…….that matters,as it resonates his core principles.Unfortunately,we will have to recruit against him for the same players but that’s life.

I believe when NB left we had one or two that transferred and that was before the portal and not sitting out a year That was the first thing Mrs. TBB said to me when I told her coach was leaving: "Is he taking Kimani Vidal?" Everyone has decisions to make they weren't planning on making. I've had offline conversations where my closest friends were so angry that they were considering just not being a fan anymore. Thankfully, everyone has calmed down and is using their heads instead of their hearts. I'm still in. I have so many wonderful memories that I have made with family and friends on campus. I look forward to many more.

Why risk another year at DI after accomplishing the goals he's set? BTW, Tulane has a Freshman RB' out of Birmingham Huffman, 5'11" 205Lb Makhi Hughes. Rushed for 1290 yds and 7TD this season. He was 4 deep at RB before entering this season. Named an Honorable Mention Freshman All-American. If he doesn't follow Fritz to Houston, Tulane got their RB.
