I haven't seen that yet. I don't think they make the announcement until later. Seems like a lot of red tape to get through in a timely fashion and I don't think this is at the top of the NCAA to do list. On that same note, is Jacksonville State getting the waiver as well?

This is probably why they won’t. Can you imagine teams suing for lost revenue by abiding by the rule. Always a good idea to pay attention and when a “law” is found flawed repeal it first and tell the previous folks sorry but we are not giving you money for abiding by the rules at the time.

Crap state has yet to pay for their transgressions from last year. I hope it's them in Troy with a score somewhere around 63-0 Trojans

Thank you for the enlightenment. It really does explain a lot.

Better hurry that study up; most governmental committees take years to do anything?

With College GameDay going to James Madison this Saturday, thinking the NCAA will get the full court press on JMU’s waiver. How this plays out will be interesting to say the least.
Say grant the waiver, want the Trojans to play them again ! Anywhere, Anytime, bring it ! We ain’t scared.
“Well, we had to do it when Troy transitioned” EXCUSE. Let’s not hide behind some old outdated rule.

IF they grant it, I say all institutes that had to sit out should file a grievance against the NCAA for damages and lost revenue due to them abiding by it

As long as they played full FBS schedules in their transition years and applied for waivers that were denied, they'd have a case if they were bowl and championship eligible at the end of the season.

Ok this is not exactly about the Championship game but sort of...... The fact that a waiver is being sought this late in the season is more and more looking like NO is the answer to JMU. However, if you think that is a mess check out the rules of the Big 12 Championship game. In essence, OSU beat OU and K-State. Head-to-head is the rule but wait. K-State did not play OU and therefore switches to a convoluted best record against other teams.
K-State has the edge for the championship game under that scenario. OSU did not play Texas the top dog this year in the Big 12.
So, we are not the only league with intrigue into the championship game. That award also goes to the Big 12ish going to 16 from 14 this yearish. Plus, it was one of our opponents that appears to be the beneficiary of the that unique conference rule and so actually could help our SOS.

Word on the street AKA Twitter AKA "X" is that the NCAA board meets tonight to decide teh fate of JMU's future. Does that mean an announcement tonight, not necessarily, but it will be soon. A side note to JMU is that apparently Jax State is tied up in this same meeting and has championship game implications on the line too.

If they say yes to the waivers there could be other problems for the NCAA. I think NAW is coming but not till after the college game day which would be a three hour long program of bashing the NCAA.

Maybe someone will host a "Sunbelt Bowl" for a rematch?? I believe Bowl games are out of reach for the NCAA? Maybe Disney (ESPN) will improvise where no one else has the flexibility?
