I hope Coach Brown is here for a bit longer. He has been great for the program. If not, next man up. I think he will be around for another season. Based upon the articles out there from the "So called experts" it doesn't appear that he is as "hot" as we all think he is as our coach.

As a side note if goobers on a message board hired coaches Neal wouldn’t be here. It would be Orgeron, Wilson, or Turk. Neal will eventually leave Troy. It might be this season it might not. Personally I don't think this is the season he needs to leave unless the money is just too good to turn down. When you look at our schedule next year and the returners we will have if there was ever a season that we possibly could go 12-0 or 11-1 next season is it. If we go 12-0 or 11-1 he's going to have a lot more opportunities than after this season . There are a lot of posts this week from a lot of different folks that have stated that our schedule is very favorable and we have a good chance of going undefeated next year. Huh ? Mizzou is an SEC school with SEC level talent in their roster, don’t expect a Nebraska type scenario. S. Miss is at worst equal to Troy, equals dogfight game. Going to Akron will not be a cakewalk. APP will be good, GSU will be ready to brawl, Arky St. will be in the hunt. And you can bet the farm the South pukes will be itchin to fight. Remember we had a stretch of 6 to 8 Quarters where we couldn’t sniff a touchdown. Sure we can go undefeated but let’s cool the jets on it being an easy ( or easier) path next year.

I've seen msg board posts and posts from keyboard coach fans on POSITIVE articles that are lukewarm on CNB but as has been noted, keyboard coach fans don't know jack squat in reality. It isn't just the TROY keyboard coaches.

Still Mizzou will have to replace their top QB and some other players + some DEF starters and Troy returning a ton. Also, don’t underestimate the LSU and Nebraska wins: This Troy team understands how to beat P5 teams! I am more concerned about Missouri’s bye week (right before they are playing us) than their talent level. Southern Miss will be competitive, returning almost the entire OFF and they will have played two opponents (incl Miss St) while we only play Campbell in week1 - going into week 3. This could really hurt us. Akron will have to replace almost its entire starting DEF. We should win this game. App St should be a Top 25 team next year, not sure about their coaching situation. Barring any injuries and provided we add some more depth and keep our coaches, next year should be our year!

I'm stating next years schedule is very favorable to us. We still have to perform though

I wonder if the AD at Utah State will give CNB a call and gauge his interest and a throw out a significant raise (say $500k), since the AD knows Neal and all...... 😉

Even a million for a year difference he won’t do that either do to recruiting area there vs here and happy here for moment and with a second job and the occasional bake sale Neal is able to creep by and our food on table with total package of about a million here a year. Next move is not G5 but a good chance to win P5.

And, a Lot of these same folks would react to a 2-3 loss season as a failure of coaching, scheduling, etc, etc and call for coaches heads etc etc. One game at a time.

Vic Koenning name being thrown around for HC at Utah State per Brett Murphy

Vic Koenning name being thrown around for HC at Utah State per Brett Murphy I think the potential poaching of Vic from our staff is something we need to be aware of and we need to be prepared to counter those offensives. I, however, do not think the possibility of Vic to HC @ Utah State (or any other smaller, less successful program) should overly concern us. He's done that, once, at Wyoming with limited success. I'd be more concerned about a good P5 coming after him as DC. THAT would concern me.

Our defense has won more games than our offense...fact. losing him will be a huge loss. Can't stress strong enough the job he has done.

Other than CNB having the foresight to hire VK, you are absolutely correct. He is an important asset to the current system. We must make every effort to keep Vic happy in Troy. I do not think that Vic would live @ Utah State or the HC job.

Ummmm, no on Propst. He's a solid high school coach and let's leave it at that. It's absolutely hilarious how often Propst's name STILL gets brought in damn near any decently high profile job opening comes up in this state lol I'm just so shocked that no high profile schools are beating down a 60-year olds door to come be an OC somewhere... Another good coach would be Randy Sanders at East Tennessee State. He helped start up football there again. That being said I hope Neal Brown stays as long as possible

Losing VK would be devastating. We would probably go for Sumrall and/or D.Ansley then.

Saw that Louisville expects to have their coach today. They met with Satterfield ... and apparently another coach who "checked all the boxes". Hopefully we can dodge the bullet this season!
