My choices would be Bill Clark if ever available or Bohannon from Kennesaw St There's something scuzzy about Bill Clark. Maybe it's the combination of Jax St. AND ua'sb. Don't know anything about Bohanon except he's winning. I have a close relative that works st UAB-not a fan of Clark at all, and she is a supporter of sports.

Just read the link to the USA Today article about 9 up and coming coaches. It said Coach Brown's buyout was only $300,000. I thought the buyout was much higher, to help Troy meet other needs in the event of Coach making a move. I hope USA Today has incorrect information. They left off some zero's. It's $2.9 million

I'm more worried about losing Vic than Neal also.

Good man for sure but isn't he battling a serious health issue or cancer right now? I believe I read that somewhere You’re corrrect. I haven’t heard any updates on his battle. He’s an excellent coach and even better man. 100% agree. Only got to personally meet him once but really, really nice man. Got to know a couple of the OL parents from 2013-17 that he recruited their sons. They were devestated when he left but I will say we have a really good OL coach right now. Coach Moore coaches them up like Schlarman did

That's from last year ... I wonder if it's much less since there's one less year on the contract? I hope it's still in the 3 mill range. That will be a bit of a deterrent to suitors ... but also be a useful sum for us if he does go!

USA Today has Browns buyout listed as 300,000 bucks Hope that’s incorrect Yep, someone needs to clarify that. I've heard both 3 million and 300K. Has anyone on here actually seen the contract? Surf Report: We have mostly sunny skies, air temp is 38, water is 72, wind is blowing 11-25 mph out of the NNW. The high tide was at 12:31 am and the low tide will be at 12:07 pm. Surf is flat, but the water is crystal clear!

I can't see how the buy out would be $300,000 when his salry when he originally signed as HC was $750,000 a year

I believe it's 3 million regardless of when someone buys it out.

I know we're doing this because we're bored but can we not talk about hiring a new coach until our current one is gone. This is like planning your grandparents' funeral and dividing up their property right in front of them.

Neal has also been mentioned for UNC. I'm more concerned he is heading back to Lubbock Texas

They are pretty accurate with the coaching salary reporting, been doing it for years. How do we invest the $2.9 million? New coach ? Downpayment on IPF?

$2.9 mil goes super quick and like Hemi said, I would pay attention to that date USA Today included.

I'm betting we go the route of UAB and South with the covered fields. They look really nice and serve the purpose needed all the while costing a fraction of an actual building. also according to the intrawebs, today is the day Brohm says yes or no to LVille.

My preference: 1) People first 2) Facility second We just spent approx. $25 Big Ones for the end zone. An OPF would be nice, but... Great Coaches can do far more with less than great facilities with mediocre leadership. Thus, spend whatever it takes to attract and/or Keep great Coaching, allocate whatever is left to other priorities, be that facility or whatever the Powers deem necessary.

If the time comes I think you can hire a very good coach for what we pay NB and I like the idea of a covered/Indoor facility. Only think we are missing in facilities. Paying Big $$$ doesn't mean coaching success. Ask UF, FSU, UT, UCLA, etc
