Uniforms looked good minus the additional clothing added by players. Names on back, if important to team, make them earn it with off season discipline revamp.

Every time I see a thread like this, the pointless bickering over folks opinion, I'm reminded why I don't visit very often. Some of you people can't seem to accept that someone else has a different thought on a subject and therefore, if they DO disagree with you they are wrong. Pretty solid commentary on the status of the country as whole. "IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME YOU'RE WRONG." We all need to step back and respect that someone may see things another way. If everyone agreed all the time the board would really serve no purpose. One person would start a thread and then you would have 5 pages of " I agree". Would you come back more often to read that? Clearly I didn't make my point clear. Disagree with others all you want, it is the fact most of you can't accept another's view that leads to 5 plus bleeping pages of uniform arguing. One can have an opinion and not be wrong.

I have to agree with redwave on this. names on the back of the uniform shirts are used more times than not to promote the individual not the team on the front of the jersey. I COMPLETELY understand what you are saying, I just buy a program before every game ($5) and use the middle part for both schools. The money goes to a good cause and I get a lot more information than I was getting with the name on the back of the jersey. I understand that completely but Troy did it when Blakeney came and we had tremendous success. We have no names now on jerseys and absolutely no discipline. I just think that a player woukd like his name on the jersey.i would have. Two sides to it but almost every team we play had names, including Georgia Southern, UAB, App. st. USA. Can't hurt imo. ....and my experiences have been never having my name on my jerseys and it never mattered to me in the least. I can understand why a fan would want the names but I don't understand why a player would want it UNLESS he wants fans to know who HE is and that leans to the individual rather than team. If i'm a good player fans will know who I am. If I'm a lousy player I don't want them to know who I am. JMHO

Ok, I am all about the "team" concept, but we have to acknowledge that players actually want individual recognition. To believe otherwise is shortsighted. Real players want you to know who they are.

(I know, i know, it's Troy.)

Names on jerseys are no big deal to me and it's nice not to have to look in the program but to some coaches it's a BIG deal! This issue of team discipline is a lot bigger and more complicated than the average fan understands. You need to have played game or coached it to completely understand what's involved and how to achieve it and many players have little understanding or could care less. Without it other things just doesn't happen. It's like the heart beat in a person. Everything starts with discipline just like in the military and some won't agree to it's importance but just look at coaches who have been successful over a long period and all were good disciplinarians. You don't necessarily have to be a Patton to get discipline but you do have to get respect.
