A lot of you are mentioning possible head coaches that might bring in a pro-style type of offense. We don't need a coach that believes the pro-style offense will work in the Sun Belt... because it won't... unless you have great offensive players and a stout defense every year. We already have players that were recruited for a spread offense. So I'd prefer to keep the spread offense. Plus Troy has had success with it for the past 8 years now. I would like to see a guy that brings in an offense similar to what Ole Miss runs. Those guys can run a hurry-up offense like nobodys business and show a lot of different looks. Personally I would lean towards a defensive minded coach who would hire a quality offensive coordinator and let him do his thing. This 100% in my opinion. Scaring me Hemi.

Liked the AD statement about willing to be as competitive as we need to be regarding finances. Time for us all to start giving or increase and help with this, especially those of us who have cried for weeks for change. Shocked at the timing of this thought it would be in November after last game, but sooner is better than later, so the search can be open and begin.

Hemi, when the "advisory committee" made up of staff, former players and SUPPORTERS meets, make sure you throw out Orgeron's name. I think he's a good fit and we know he can recruit. ttimesmall

Leave Propst out of the conversation, we'll talk about the new Chrysler Hell Cat, 692 CI of blown V8 with 702 HP. Bring Propst into the mix, we'll be talking about the inline 3 cylinder Ford EcoBoost. Don't disappoint.

He is the same as a hundred other high school coaches in the South but without the slimy history ?

Rhett Lashlee would fit the bill and in my opinion could have been someone Hartwell had in mind with his comments about coming in, elevating and leaving maybe 3 years later. Dunno. But, I'd agree that if it were to be Lashlee, he'd be a short term solution.
At risk of being labeled as an undercover barner, I'll repeat (think I posted it here somewhat recently) that a man we tailgate with who is a big supporter in every way and is not without influence and has some inside tracks told me a few weeks back that a number of people were already talking about Dameyune Craig. They knew he'd be a short term guy but that the $ would be available for him because his recruiting prowess was valued and desired that much.
So... Who knows? It'll be interesting the next 6 - 8 weeks.

He's much different than hundreds of other high school coaches. Shows you know very little on the subject. Ask some of our former players that played for him.

I know a lot of his former players and parents in Birmingham and Mobile areas that would say he is scum. Are they wrong ?

Probst, Chiz, Nutt all come with baggage......we have an opportunity for a fresh hire. Lets make it count.

I will throw one name, let's bring a southern boy home, Terry Bowden. Makes $400 at Akron now, we can make that a lot better!! Great coach and fit, second chance, knows the neighborhood. Thoughts? BTW - I would love Probst as OC... a baggage can be forgiven - if you have a heart.

Terry B, can't say I'd thought of him previously. I wouldn't personally be a huge fan of him I don't think but I could see it working out. Maybe he'd bring Tommy with him? Tommy I wouldn't mind at all.

Yes, and if you remember he had to do a few years on probation at TROY for the Eric Ramsey scandal.....it worked out in the long term but TROY was punished for what happened at a different school. He wasnt allowed to recruit off campus etc.

No more re-trends ! Chiz, Nut, Bowden. We caught lighting in a bottle with CLB, can't do that again. Start with someone fresh who is hungry to win.
