If we get Frank Wilson I'll donate my soul to Trojan Warrior Fund. Is $5.25, an old silver dollar, two 1980 Hustler's and a t-shirt supposedly worn by Blossom enough to put the deal together ?

Vic Koenning proved he's a better DC than head coach. That was years ago, he's got so much more experience now.

All I hope is three things:
1) we get someone with HC experience who is a proven winner 2) we get a coach who can recruit and realizes that the Florida southern border isn't Gainsville and that the state of Georgia goes past Columbus 3) we get off the heavy Juco recruiting

You win next season if you hire him. 20 plus years never had a losing season. Three national championships, one as a player, two as a coach

A lot of you are mentioning possible head coaches that might bring in a pro-style type of offense. We don't need a coach that believes the pro-style offense will work in the Sun Belt... because it won't... unless you have great offensive players and a stout defense every year.
We already have players that were recruited for a spread offense. So I'd prefer to keep the spread offense. Plus Troy has had success with it for the past 8 years now.
I would like to see a guy that brings in an offense similar to what Ole Miss runs. Those guys can run a hurry-up offense like nobodys business and show a lot of different looks.

I think there are too many successful head coaches at smaller schools or even large high schools for Troy to take a risk on A) a former head coach with a losing record. B) a position coach with no head coaching experience.
A coordinator like Brown is a little different because they have the responsibility of a whole unit. I like Campbell because he's a proven winner. Just my 2 cents.

Personally I would lean towards a defensive minded coach who would hire a quality offensive coordinator and let him do his thing.

Could go the route of hiring an offensive minded HC that acts as his own Offensive Coordinator. Two for one. Someone who is hungry and ready to move forward. Hire a QB coach to assist on the O side and then let an aggressive DC run the D side.

Yeah, Gus Malzohn was a great high school coach. We are going to have to trust Hartwell to make the right call. There are many qualified candidates. We need the one that has the "it" factor for TROY. Successful coaching record, highly organized, great recruiter, and tireless worker should be the base requirements. People skills, motivational skills, team building skill are the X factors that come in many flavors. We need a coach that will change our culture in football but also has the ability get along with everyone (politically).

Jeremy Pruitt as head coach and basically DC with a young guy to mentor as a co DC. Rush Propst as OC. Pruitt would be my first choice. Just don't know if that can happen. He would really have to want to HC. He said he has his dream job right now. Think he us paid over 1 mil. He would be great! No doubt!
