View Attachment Oh yeah, it's just hideous. How do we ever get a recruit to come here with this facility The HOME side...lower level hasn't been upgraded since the 60's. An all chair-back lower-bowl would be a substantial upgrade. 1) Not building new bathrooms during the expansion in order to create a full field length concourse was dumb. That concourse is so crowded, you can hardly move around 2) As an occupant of the bench back seats, I'd absolutely be willing to some additional premium for chair backs. Upper level chair backs are $300 a seat, lower level bench backs are $200 a seat, each requiring a Warrior Club donation. I'd be very willing to split the difference and pay $250 a seat for chair backs down low.

Well I’m glad to see these additions but that just makes the competition stronger and if we don’t get back to the top of the pack we may be out of left out next realignment! That has to start with a New Coach! This is perhaps as insightful as any comment made about the realignment yet. This conference will get better. We can either get on the bus and get better with it, or we will be left choking on it's dust.

AFter actually looking at a map, I realize that it matters not if the conference is divided E/W or N/S, the divisions come out almost identical. Flip Ark State and Coastal and they are identical divisions. So much for my genius idea.

We keep talking about East and West. What if we go North and South instead? Marshall, ODU, James Madison, App, Coastal, ULM and Ark State in the north, UL, USM, Jan Nation, TROY, GA ST, GATA, and TX State in the south would work well geographically and, I think, from a competition stand point (I'm trying to go off of geographic memory, it might be that ULM is farther north than say Coastal, so some minor tweaking might be in order). I'm just trying to think outside the box, shake things up a little, and generate some new excitement.
One more thing that has nothing to with the above. I really like the fact that Marshall is, apparently, joining the Funbelt. I'm a sap, I get it. I'm also old, and i get that too (so are some of you and some of you will relate to this). I was 9 years old in 1970 when the Marshall football charter crashed. I vaguely remember that event, and remember thinking how could an entire FB team be gone in a flash (a few years later I would relive that same sickening sense of disbelief and sadness when Skynyrd's plane went down. That's a different story for a different day BUT the events are similarly seared into my memory) I remember feeling an incredible sadness over the Marshall event. Because of this, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people of Huntington, WV, and what they endured and prospered through. "Out of the ashes we rise" is more than a catch phrase and I, for one, look forward to competing against a school with that history of overcoming such adversity.
If any of you young bucks in here aren't familiar with Marshall's story, find it, read it, and watch the movie "We Are Marshall". It'll change the way you view that program.

Wasn't at the game but was watching highlights of Ole Miss/Arkansas, Bama/A&M etc and was astonished at the number of deep balls thrown and completed to basically wide open recievers. We have a 6"5 reciever in Todd that can run and you are telling me we can't get him open deep or these other recievers??? Tdd was targeted multiple times Saturday night, with very good results, including a TD. I saw him at the spring game in '19 and have wondered when he would be used because he lit it up in that scrimmage.

DT was not able to view much of the came and only listened to maybe 1 quarter all together. My takeaways from what I gathered: 1.) Gunnar should have started all season but everyone that watched practices told us that. 2.) We should have cruised but didn't. Sounded like poor coaching and penalties. So, this was indeed a W for the Trojans and that's great! But, was it a W for Chippy head scratcher? Penalties hurt us, but only because of the timing. We had 6 penalties for 60 yds, but in all cases they extended drives or allowed GA Southern to wiggle off the hook. For example, GS was going to attempt a 4th and 1, had a procedural penalty, made it 4th and 6. Brought the punt team on and before they could snap the ball, our defender positioned over the center clapped his hands and they nailed us for simulating offensive signals, giving back the 5 yds they had just given us. Then there’s was a questionable defensive holding, that if it occurred, it was at the beginning if the play at the line. Those 2 penalties amounted for 20 of the 60 yds, so not necessarily a penalty ridden affair.

I have had a good meal and calmed down. Things happen. I am willing to wait it out. If (The HC we don’t speak of) wins out or loses to South Carolina he may stay until One or the other happens. If he wins out he can get his extension and I personally will give 1,000 dollars to that extension fund. I am pretty sure my money is safe. After losing to ulm,you still hold out that he deserves to be there?Dear God there is no hope for Troy sports when we have fans that can say stuff like this after what happened last night. Heavens, some people need to take a class in sarcasm recognition.

Jerry and Barry are telling the fanbase we know you're frustrated but don't quit on the team. I understand where they are coming from but I don't know if I can sit through an entire season of this. Barry and Jerry must realize, and I think they do, the fan base hasnât quit on the team, weâve quit on (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of). Thereâs a HUGE difference in those two.

I'm not "anti-vax", generally speaking. This scenario is different. Also, it isn't AT ALL political or a left/right football for me. I didn't want it when Trump was in office. I don't want it now that Biden is in office. This is coming from someone who had a VERY bad 3 week fight with covid just a month ago and I'm STILL struggling with it long-term. It isn't from some tin-foil hat reasons either, though those of a certain thought paradigm will view ANY skepticism as cooky. First, I fully believe this is a scientifically-manufactured virus in whole or in part. I think the random nature of symptoms and level of contagiousness speaks to that (meaning that I nearly died but my wife never masked up or tried to keep her distance and she never came down with it). You get chicken pox, there's x, y, and z. You get a cold, you'll x,y,z there. You get covid, and it's a Wheel-of-Fortune of possibilities; some are common and some are very individualistic. So I don't believe it came from a food market that just HAPPENED to be basically next door to a high-level biological lab. It's anecdotal but TOO coincidental. I don't believe any government is knowledgeably complicit in trying to steal our freedoms or insert a (The HC we don’t speak of) or anything like that. Not that we are not losing freedoms right and left. I just think that is due to a much more sinister entity and the pawns being played are well-intentioned but unaware of the damage they're inflicting long term. I DO believe that our government and others are simply giving us all their best guess in the vaccine at this point and not telling the world what the world would want to know. Kinda like if there was a nuclear missile or asteroid or and alien craft on our doorstep, the powers that be are going to want to control the chaos, and limit public/private interest contrary to their agenda for the common good as they see it and not lay every card on the table. That's nothing new. They're doing that on a daily basis. I DO understand that the vaccine might provide some level of safeguard but I reserve the right to be skeptical and hesitant even of that as time unfolds and more study grants us more facts than we have currently. I'm ABSOLUTELY suspicious of the government's ability to do something that succeeds other than make war. The track record isn't that steller and don't forget, this was done at a warp speed hurry too. PLENTY of room for error. Think about it. The general public can be skeptical even of buying a 1st generation new car or downloading software and software patches until there's been time for the bugs and kinks to be worked out of it for fear that the patch will do more harm than good and the car will have lemon-like failures and design flaws. This is something we're injecting into our body! Those who have it (available since Dec 2020) have not even had it a year. Put another way, there is less than a YEAR's worth of study regarding the long term physiological effects on the human body of a cocktail that in many ways, if you follow the science, is similar but very unique to the flu shot, chicken pox vaccine, and all of the others that you might have gotten far too long ago to be able to remember. I'm not holding out because I don't trust those frothy-mouthed Democrats trying to take my freedoms. I'm not holding out because I'm in league with the right wing conservatives who want to secede from the union. I hold out because I'm skeptical and believe we are far too arrogant in our thinking that we KNOW all of the science well enough not to blow ourselves up, figuratively speaking. As time unfolds and more becomes known, I'll take my measured response. There is one thing very clear for me and for my wife. We will ONLY...and I mean ONLY take it by choice. It will not be mandated on me. I once lived on a sailboat and we have been very close to writing it all off and sailing down to the Caribbean to find our own little "private paradise" so to speak. It won't be difficult to do for us. I'd hate to be in the shoes of those who may have to choose between livelihood and this vax. Sure you can be tested weekly but it's not just that. It's the vilification and castigation of those of us who dare be skeptical and want to genuinely question. I'll add this about the original post - that viewpoint does not represent me or the VAST MAJORITY of those I know who are holding out. It is slightly cooky and doesn't speak well at all for us, all do respect. You sir, speak wisdom.

It's a promotion. Nothing in the article indicates that you will have to bring a vaccine card to get in or even submit to a full scale covid test. Both are likely separate from stadium entrance procedure. You make the assumption, but that doesn't matter. Obviously, I am anti-vaccine. I'm not a Dr., but I am a rocket scientist and I know how to read data. It is my opinion, that the vaccines have caused more damage than have helped with covid. Again, it is my opinion, but promoting these vaccines is similar to promoting playing Russian roulette. I'm already boycotting because of Fester and this is another reason for me, based on what I think, to boycott. I'm neither a rocket scientist nor a Dr, but I am a a nurse and in my opinion, your analysis is accurate.

21 rushing yards on 24 attempts. Ouch. With an experienced OL and a strong backfield. I don't get it. I’ve looked for the depth chart and can’t find it but we are VERY young on the right side of the O line. One starter is a Soph, the other a Fresh, the 2s are a RS Fresh and a Fresh. The center and left side are all experienced but the right side not so much.

I won't make it to today's game. I'm on call for work and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get anybody to cover it for me. This isn't the time to try to talk someone into working extra in a healthcare facility. 🤷🏻♂️ Those of you who did make it, be loud, be proud, and let's get this win. The pre-game was terrible as well. Why can't we march on the field like almost every other band? We don't need the pelvic thrusts but a drum major would be nice too. AND why aren't the players running through the "T"? Is it too far for the band to walk? So the band stands at one end of the field for seven minutes while we play music over the loudspeakers. Then the players run onto the field at one end while the band runs off the field at the other end. Come on guys; Get some showmanship! Make the performances fun to watch as well as listen too. We didn't know how long the other band would take?? Why didn't we ask them? It's our field and our half time show, tell them they have 8 minutes or whatever we want. if we're worried about the other band taking too long either 1) let them play after us or 2) don't let them play at all. The not running through the T is a COVID thing. Keeping them separated You beat me to the punch. The players are gonna grunt, and sweat on, and probably spit on each other for the next 4 hours and the band members are gonna practically sit in each other's laps while blowing through instruments, and, after the game, the players are gonna go high 5 the portion of the student body still remaining in the stadium (none of which I have a problem with, BTW) but let's make sure we don't let players run with 10 feet of the band, outdoors, in the UV light.

I've been away awhile and when I went to the game Saturday I noticed some changes: 1) Why/When did the band change the Fan Fare? I'm a traditionalist and didn't care for it. 2) Why no R U From Dixie? That was always a fun song to play and it's something I always look forward to during a game. 3) Why did the band only play one song then bolt with 7:00 minutes left at halftime? 4) I found the trumpet player in the wheelchair to be inspiring. Is the person pushing him a family member? A friend? A volunteer? Great to see. 1) The change to the fanfare is brand new, and I agreee, the change is awful. It doesn't fit the rest of the piece melodically or rhythmically. 2) Are You From Dixie has been gone for a couple of years now. The changes were made for the sake of political correctness. As written by the great Bob Dylan, the times, they are a changin'.

BOLD TYPE. That 3.2 at half caught me eye as well. Our OLine is big and stout. But i question the mobility? I think some of the low rushing #s (and overall offense #s) were caused by the short field position that our defense provided us with on the interceptions. Overall solid performance, next week will be the test! The short fields had an impact on rushing average as did a couple of scrambles that resulted in really short gains. When the dust settled, Kimani and BJ both had rushed for 5.4 yds/carry. That's not at all shabby. One other observation: I get we were playing an FCS school and with a few exceptions, they didn't put pressure on Powell all night - they had 0 sacks. Powell dropped some dimes last night. On one of the early TD's he threw a back shoulder fade to the front corner of the South end zone. He also moved up in the pocket well and made good throws to his secondary receivers. It's early, Southern was certainly not the best completion we will see, but I liked what I saw. I couldn't have made those throws against the air that was previously mentioned.

I can't wait to read the game recaps of the first D1A season. The Tornado Game in Starkville is one of my all time favorite TROY football memories. It ranks right up there with Samples sliding through the mud just outside the south end zone during the stadium expansion construction process.
