Larry Blakeney, Neal Brown, C#ip Lind$ey, Jon Sumrall and Gerard Parker have more football knowledge in one synapse than this entire board combined.

Tell me what I don’t understand oh wise one. I admitted they know more than any of us on here. Plenty of coaches do. At the sane time a lot of those coaches are not cut out to be head coaches. If you don’t get that, then that’s your deal.

We don't have the dudes we used to have. Don't get me wrong, Parker is green and I don't think he has "taken command" like Brown and Sumrall did, but I want to believe he can figure it out. Ask me this question this Thursday after the game and I see if we have improved. I'm specifically looking for improvement on the OL.

Last nite was rough. QB gets hurt. Center difficulties. Big plays it was sure there would be a holding penalty. A couple of breakdowns on pass coverage Perhaps we play better and stun Texas State.?

Both Brown and Sumrall coaxed here before they were head coaches here. They were aware of our more modest resources5z

Look at JMU. Lost their winning head coach to P5 job. He took a boatload of JMU players to his new job at Indiana. JMU all conference QB went to Texas St. All of their starting WR are gone. Vast majority of their defensive starters gone. Yea, they’re 4-0 with a win over North Carolina. Yeah, coaching matters.

They have went twice to lower divisions to hire winning head coaches. Cignatti was a proven D2 winner and current coach won at Holy Cross. Worked twice for them Parker is now 1-10 as a HC

We had talent for 3 years but Fester did not know how to coach them! He did recruit well and JS took advantage of that ! I think this team has talent We saw that in Iowa! I believe if JS or NB were the coach we would be 3-2. With that said GP has a monkey on his back and I hope he can figure it out and get it off! He has been coach 10 times of a FBS team and his only win is against an FCS opponent! He is fighting hard but as he has said he has a process and doesn’t want to change it from week to week , but that is what he is going to need to do! What he is implementing is not working and I hope he will change his approach, that’s what coaches do they make adjustments!

Parker is one man. I'm as critical as the next guy, but he isn't the entire problem even if the buck stops with him. The entire staff needs to figure out how to get their individual units coached up and working in sync with each other. Lots of people, staff and players, in new roles. We've seen they can do better (Iowa) but they can't seem to find consistency. They should have beat ULM, and they need to do a lot to get it together in the second half of the season. I also think the possibility is there if their greenness doesn't bite them in the rear.

Look it is hard to coach a team of winners, much less a team that still is growing and figuring out their identity. Let the man work and get this team to where they need/want to be. Rome was not built in a day, and we were far from a dominate team with all the turnover. Plus half these guys that transferred in were not starters, more like back ups trying to find a place to shine. Be patient.

I do not know how this is going to turn out but this I can say with certainty. I am not sure how good of head coach HCGP is going to be. However, listening to him and watching him it is clear he is not that no good rotten piece of whatever that was here before Sumrall. I am sorry if there may be some that think that pointing this out is a low bar but ..............................that alone gives him a little more leeway than Potatoe head.

Our Head Coach has never, as a head coach, beaten a FBS team. To expect him to do so on a short week after a failing of such monumental proportions is unwise. I'll cheer for the win, but expecting it would defy logic.

Guys, I have kept quiet all season on this topic. HCGP knows how to coach and NO ONE wants to win more than he does. He and his staff are competent and will get this team turned around. It will take some time, but he will have the opportunity to coach up the current players throughout the season and recruit his type of playmakers in the off-season. I know we all have our opinions about the coaching staff, but I have seen many coaches come and go for nearly five decades. We have a guy (and staff) in charge who can develop the talent on hand and find the missing pieces needed to get us on the path to success. This is why coaches sign three to four-year contracts: to have the opportunity to put the pieces in place to be in the hunt for conference championships. We lost a six-year starting QB, several players to the NFL/CFL, several more to the portal, and others persuaded with significant 'financial incentives' to Tulane (just as a reminder). We should all be on the same page to support our program with the staff and the players we currently have on our team. Patience is a virtue; let's give Coach Parker and his staff the respect they deserve and stop with all the divisive language; it is not helpful to the cause.
Go TROY!

I really disagree with these requests of everyone just be quiet, don’t say anything other the “right” type of language on a subject. Healthy discourse, disagreement and different opinions should be encouraged not discouraged. All of Life is results based. Relationships, faith, work, play, etc. and yes Troy football. I want to win. If you invest time and energy and care about something, it’s damn ok to call it out when it is failing, advocating for better results. Some might say it’s your obligation to do so. This is message board about Troy football. It would be more awesome if more people came on here to talk Troy football, regardless of their viewpoints. Again it’s way better when you have a lot of different viewpoints. Disagree with telling people not to express their viewpoints just because you don’t agree with it.

I have no issue with pointing out problems as seen on the field, as experienced with personal interactions with staff, and how they may impact desired outcomes (winning). My issue, and I'm speaking on no one in particular at this point, is that some posters contribute to the conversation ONLY when they can criticize personnel or results. They never seem to have positive input and never seem willing to accept that perhaps, in spite of problems and less than desirable outcomes, there may be better days ahead and things may not be as dire as they portray. There are more than one of these type posters that not only contribute only to criticize, but they offer the same criticisms repeatedly, beating a dead horse if you will. I find it tiring and find myself tempted to completely block those individual's comments. I don't want to do that, I enjoy a good spirited discussion, but after a while, the constant negativity wears on me. Some people see life in general in a negative light and those people suck the live and joy out of others.

It is almost like there was a book that talked a lot about using language that builds others up. Then it went on to say things like in as much as it is up to you to get along with others. Hmmm. I think we all have a bit of knee jerk reaction to things going NOT as well as hoped. But look at it this way guys. It sure was fun getting spoiled and having those ideas that losing really isn't something we will ever find acceptable.

Me personally, I would never want to block someone, whether I agree or disagree, I just believe the more opinions and viewpoints shared, contributed and debated back and forth is better for the Troy fan base. One thing, and have mentioned before, everyone here wants Troy to win, I appreciate that and that’s what having a strong core fan base is about. We just have different ways we see getting there.
