Javan Johnson announced he was transferring over a week ago.
KJ Simon has just announced he is transferring elsewhere as well.
Scott Cross will get to bring in his own players quicker than he might've imagined...
KJ has not announced he’s transferring elsewhere. He’s in the portal, but there’s a good chance he stays.

Now this is a trash opinion. And I should know after I had a trash opinion of my own about a month ago. If is an opinion only. Only time will prove if it's trash. It was indeed a very trash opinion

I most certainly did not get this information from an agent. It was someone with direct knowledge of the meeting and what was said in the meeting. I then reported it Wednesday night and had that story up Thursday morning. Now, does it mean he is guaranteed to stay? No, of course not. But with the timing of it, as my story says, it shows what step Brown is looking to take next. Sorry guy, your story is pure speculation with no sources. “ Neal Brown will be on the immediate short list for Memphis and UCF”. You have no sources for this and this is filler for a clickbait “article”. Sorry I'm late to respond to this. I did not write this story because I woke up and decided I would spout nonsense for clicks. I was alerted by someone who did not give me permission to reveal them that Neal Brown told his staff he was staying. I then relayed that information to everyone because it is my job. Guessing that Brown would be a good fit at UCF and Memphis at the end should not and does not render my story "clickbait".

Unsure what this is referring to but he had no decent offers. (YET) Maybe a joke. But it is silly season in the coaching front. And quite often coaches agents often float things out into the interwebs to generate some buzz for their clients. This is a nothing burger. If we win tomorrow and have a 10 win next year, He Gone. I most certainly did not get this information from an agent. It was someone with direct knowledge of the meeting and what was said in the meeting. By the way we played last night, I say we limp to 6-6 unless the turnovers and kicking game is fixed. I don't know if we go bowling at 6-6 I'd say we need to go at least 7-5. God help us if we need a kick to win a game. Go out and get some kid on campus. How was this Legassy kid rated as a 3 Star kicker? Now this is a trash opinion. And I should know after I had a trash opinion of my own about a month ago.

Thank you all for the responses! Instead of quoting everyone I'll just reply here. I understand the Trop has had a couple of unpopular opinions. I was not around for the Georgia fan but I was for the South Hate Week article. All I can say is us at sports thought it was a pretty trash opinion. Even though I wasn't around for GA guy, I can almost guarantee you that wasn't a Trop staffer. Now, I am not "starved" for attention and was not trying to garner it with the tweet. I've had a strong irritation towards announced attendance for a long time. I am a big Troy supporter and my tweets reflect. Please feel free to peruse my profile (or even give a follow ) @scottwatkinstu. Along with the Trop, I cover Sun Belt football at forgotten5.com. I know I'm just plugging myself now but I believe in full transparency. I think that covers it all. Go Troy! Now if you want to talk football I am super down. This NMSU game is really going to be something. Hey, I'm a darn old guy so forgive me for being confused about the basis of this piece. Who gives a "tinkers d--b" about whether it was 28,896 or 28,689 or whatever the numbers? The ONLY way to have a reasonably accurate accounting of "attendance" is TICKETS SOLD! You can't count an empty seat as not having an occupier as long as hunger, thirst and Mother Nature exist in stadiums. So they announced a "sell out" and "record crowd" and its taken as a NEGATIVE? Seriously! Do they give a prize for "largest attendance, do they give attaboys? For the sake of all that's holy, worry about something important. I gave away free tickets as did a lot of folks. Hell was happening to good people in Florida that day and we are worrying about whether the seat in section 110, row 5, seat 13 was actually being used since it was unoccupied at the time a fan decided to snap a photo. Give me a break! Go Trojans, let's fill the Vet again next game!👍🏼 I was in no way searching for something negative to say about Troy, as many of you suggest. I post Troy related tweets daily and this is honestly the only negative I think I've ever tweeted. So, despite the "you're digging and reaching to find a negative about Troy" narrative bestowed upon me, understand that I just made an observation. This was not a "big deal" tweet that was meant to send a negative message to all about Troy. I had no plans to actually do anything journalistic about this attendance figure. I was not being nitpicky about the attendance figure, either. If I was this kind of person, I'd be tweeting about Troy's attendance number WEEKLY. I simply just didn't believe it was a record crowd. By the way, figuring out the actual attendance is very possible. Teams are beginning to do it more and more now.

Announced attendance isn't real.
Hey there. Long time lurker, first time poster. I recently posted on twitter (yeah, i'm that "reporter") about the Troy attendance record and many fans were somewhat upset. First, I was wrong to say 75%. I'll admit to that. It was an off the cuff statement that had no basis. It was definitely more than that. Was it more than the Mississippi State game? Hell no.
I brought this to the attention of my editor and another colleague. My colleague was in the press box and was the one sitting next to Josh Boutwell. He told me from his point of view, there's no way there were over 29K fans at the game. My editor expressed the same sentiment. At peak, the stadium was pretty damn full. But, not over 29K full. It also peaked for a very short amount of time.
My whole original point was that announced attendance isn't real and Troy did not break the attendance record on Saturday. Many teams use announce attendance to inflate numbers (very prevalent in baseball) and Troy is one of them. These figures always include season ticket holders and tickets sold whether they were at the game or not. Also, as a student, I can tell you that counting the students as they come isn't really a thing. Nobody knows how many students are at these games. On multiple occasions I've entered through the student entrance and my ID was never checked.
I apologize for the 75% number, but not for anything else.
To the guy who tweeted me saying the Trop wasn't a real paper, come by the office and let our wall of awards be the judge of that. The premier student newspaper of the South is an actual real thing that exists.
Thanks for listening and I look forward to any civil discourse you wish to have.
